Once the rush of the gig had died away, Merric found himself sitting on a pile of amps, four empty beer cans next to his left hip, and one in his hand. He sloshed it around and took a swig, letting out a relaxed sigh. His mind was still muddled on the whole moving on from Alex, interested in Odette topic, and the alchohol wasn't helping it any.
Truth be told, Merric was still thinking about Alex, more so now that his brain had gone on a "ALCHOHOOOOOLLL~!" trip out of sense. He knew he should have stopped after the first one, but being on the fence about two girls was more than Merric's over booked, over worked, and over stressed brain could take.
Besides, he'd just destroyed what voice he had singing for the first time at a gig. His throat had been on fire when he'd gotten off stage, and no amount of water was putting it out. The beer though, the beer was helping tremendously. So he was just a little more than tipsy; it was good the truck Kevin drove all their equipment in had room for his bike.
There was no way Merric was going to be driving himself home.
He took a drink of his beer again, content for the first time in months. Maybe he'd see about getting lucky tonight instead... hmm he liked that idea.
Now where to find a chick...

Odette slipped backstage after the concert finished. Her heart was pounding wildly in her chest after hearing Merric sing.
He was even more amazing than she originally thought!
She found the male finally and walked over, giving a smile. “Merric!”
The brunette didn’t notice the beer cans, or if she did, she didn’t say anything.
“You were completely…amazing! Thank you so much for inviting me…It…I didn’t know it was really possible for someone to sing like that—I always thought it was just people screwing around with the vocals on the cd’s and stuff…”
She was gushing, she knew. But, this was worth gushing over.
Completely worth gushing over.

He chuckled. The girl was hilarious, really hilarious. She was babbling about how awesome the show was, and how amazing he was and all that. It was hilariously funny.. heh that's redundant. The teen finished off his can and crushed it against the side of an amp before tossing in the vague direction of the dumpster. He missed. Badly.
The teen's eyes wandered Odette. A little thin and a little young looking, but she'd do. He wondered what she'd look like with her hair down... or better, without her clothing. He titled his head from side to side, as though he was debating it, and the world spun a little.
She also seemed to be a bit of a ditz. Did she not notice the beer cans? Or was she so OMGNOWAIamazed that it just glossed over everything else? Merric could deal with that. Maybe she'd be easy then. The lanky teen slid from his perch, realizing as he got his balance that she seemed rather tiny compared to him. Short. Huh.
A smug look creeped over his face. "Like'd it'dat much, eh? Don't usually sing, ya know. Thanks, tho," he said, doing his best to not slur his words. They did kinda run together though. Ah well. The smug look stayed on his face (she was rubbing his ego in the right way) as he thought, or tried to, of a way to get her into the, ah, mood.

A small blush crossed the girl's face and she gave a little chuckle. Of course it was amazing. How could it not have been amazing. Merric not only was an amazing Bass player, but he could sing too...and he could sing well.
"You're welcome, Merric." She gave another little chuckle, this one sounding just slightly nervous as her green eyes flashed in the direction of where he through the last beer can, scanning the pile of empty ones, beginning to put two and two together.
Beginning. She assumed for the moment, that they all said 'Root Beer', But she was just slightly confused as to how Merric managed to cover up all of the 'Roots'. It was quite skillful, to be honest.
"So, what are your plans now, Merric...? Do you have any?"
Maybe they could go out for ice cream or something!
Hey. A girl could dream!

Oh he had plans alright. And they involved the little naive lady in front of him. But how to get the point across... He eyed her over again, that drunken smug look on his face.
He moved close to her, surprised when she only came up to his chin. He looked down and eyed her mouth. A rather drunken idea popped into the bass player's mind. His calloused hands cupped her chin, thumbs rubbing her cheekbones for a moment.
"Do I have any... hm..." he said softly.
And then his mouth pressed against hers in a sweet little kiss.

Odette's heart stopped. One moment they were talking, the next.
....WAIT WHAT?
She let out a little squeak of surprise, though remained where she was, eyes wide, quite like a deer caught in a pair of headlights.
What was going on? Merric had his lips against hers...they were kissing? A kiss? Oh no...But, were they dating? What was going on?
Finally the girl pulled away, raising a hand to his lips, her face a bright tomato red.
"Wha-what was that f-for?" She stammered, staring at the blue haired male.
Well...there went her first kiss out the window.

That was not the proper responce.
Merric frowned at her, hands falling to his sides. What was that for? What did she think that wa--
Suddenly the bass player found himself incredibly sober. Silver eyes widened and he took a few steps back and then slammed his fist into one of the amps.
"God damnit! I need to not drink so much damn beer! ********, I'm sorry Odette. I'm drunk; I should never have done that. s**t god, I'm so freaking stupid!" he said, kicking repeatedly every empty beer can that was on the amps. God he was such an idiot! They weren't even dating and he just went out and kissed her like ******** hell he was so stupid! The beer hadn't helped any at all. God damnit! He only hoped she'd forgive him... maybe.

Odette just stared for a few more moments, then walked over to him, taking the hand he had smashed into the amp.
"Careful, Merric..." She said, looking at the hand, trying to make sure he hadn't hurt himself."
She didn't say much else for a long moment, though finally looked back up at him, eyes holding an amused glint.
"Drunk, hm? I wasn't aware that you were over twenty one, Merric...My mom said I can't date anyone more than two years older than me. What a shame...."
Ah. Was that pushing it?
"And you're not stupid...it...was just really...really unexpected, that's all..."
Yeah. Can you say; 'Shock of a lifetime?'

He rolled his eyes and eased his hand out of her grasp. "I'm seventeen... I just steal the beers from the stage crew when I want a drink. I mean, its not that hard." He ran his hand through his hair, dislogging hair gel. Honestly, was the girl naive about the ease at which someone underage could get beer? You just had to know someone twenty one or over. It really wasn't that hard.
No matter. He was starting to feel the tiredness of doing a gig and he was getting frustrated, mostly with himself. He was partially frustrated with her, for being such a naive little girl. She didn't look more than sixteen anyway.
"And two years older than you, someone could still ******** you senseless..." he muttered, mostly as a comment to himself. He could understand the kiss being a shell shock to the chick; she did live in the dark ages after all. He ran his other hand through his hair and pulled at the strands, the dull pain oddly soothing.
"I still shouldn't have done it. If I'd been sober I wouldn't have. Hugged you, possibly, never kissed you though. Look... I'm not... ready to date people right now. Fool around, maybe, but date," he said, knowing that he was going to say something that could possibly end the entire thing. "For now... just friends. I mean, I do like you, and think you're kinda cute, but I'm not ready to date you..."
Ouch Merric, that one is going to sting something fierce.

The glint left her eyes quickly replaced by a dull light of hurt.
"I see."
Huh. What was that? Oh. Heartbreak. Ouch.
Come on, Odette, pull yourself together. You hardly knew the guy. How could you have fallen for him? And so quickly and completely? What the hell?
She gave a false smile, nodding. "I understand. Well, if you ever change your mind..." Odette trailed off, glancing away.
"I have to be getting home now, I forgot, there's a show I really want to watch."
What a lame lie...

Yeup. He'd done it again. The teen sighed and looked away from her, not wanting to see those pain filled eyes. Not again, not when he'd been the cause of it. It was too much to bear, seeing her like that. Why he cared, he wasn't sure, but it just was too hard to watch.
"Alright, stay safe Odette..." he said softly to her. What else was there to say? He could hear the lie, the hurt in her voice, and it made his chest clench. He hung his head and sighed.
"I'm sorry..." he added after a moment, whether she was still there to hear it or not.
He should have just stuck to forsaking girls. It was so less painful.

The brunette turned, then hesitated, glancing back at the male.
"I don't believe you. I don't think you're really sorry...."
Should she? Was it worth it? After a moment she gave a little nod then smirked just slightly.
"...If you were really sorry...you'd take me out for ice cream...and you'd pay."
Wow...who knew. Maybe this would work.
Maybe she still had a chance with him.
...Maybe.

The teen turned his head to look at her and frowned. She didn't believe him? Well that wasn't a first at least. He was about to turn his head back to his walloing when she continued and his blue brows shot up. Merric watched her for a moment before replying, the smallest amount of an amused smirk covering his face.
"When I'm sober, and not hung over, alright? I'll take you out for ice cream and pay," said the teen, the corners of his mouth twitching into a wider smile. She had more resilience than he'd given her credit for. He'd have to watch out for that.
"A few days from now; I got some stuff I have to do for school, but I think I can shift some things around to make time," he continued. Merric still only saw her as a friend... if one he cared for, and would probably stop her advances into something more substantial, at least for a while. He just didn't want to rush her into something she'd regret later.
Or was it rush himself into something he'd regret later? He wasn't sure. He tossed her a guitar pick with a piece of paper wrapped around it. "In case I forget, call me, kay?"

The girl took the paper and guitar pick and just smiled, pocketing them both.
"Oh, don't worry. I'll give you a nudge if I don't hear anything form you in a few days. I'll text you so you have my number as well."
Huh. Maybe...this wouldn't turn out so bad. He agreed. And free ice cream was always a plus.
"Hey, Mer? Next time you just so happen to find me so completely irresistible and can't help but press your lips to mine, some warning would be amazing."
She laughed, then stretched. "See you later."

He snorted and chuckled. "Warning huh? I thought all chicks loved the spontaneous thing, but I'll remember that, Odey." He pulled himself up onto the amps again, awaiting the rest of his mates to finish doing whatever they'd been doing in the damn greenroom, and pack up the rest of the gear.
He despierately needed to sleep.
"See ya later. Watch out for those costumed freaks." He gave a wave of his hand before shouting into the open door behind him. "YO DUDES! STOP HAVING A THREESOME ON THE COUCH AND LET'S GET THIS s**t IN THE TRUCK. ALSO GREG YOUR TAKIN' ME HOME!" A rather annoyed yell came back to him and he laughed loudly. He gave a nod to Odette before sliding over the other side of the amps and disappeared inside.
