Bashira lay in the midst of tall pale green grass as the stars moved slowly overhead. She had been so tired today that she had collapsed in this field as the sun had begun to set. All of the endless walking into seemingly nowhere had taken it’s toll on her body.
Despite wanting to continue moving on, she didn’t have much choice but to stay there for a few days. If she even tried to travel in the state that she was in, she could collapse again, and next time it probably wouldn’t be such a convenient situation.
Closing her eyes, she tried to remember once again where she was supposed to be going, and why she needed to get there. She really wasn’t sure of either at the moment, but she was sure that she must have know at some point and it must of been important.
The only thing that she wanted at the moment was to find this mysterious place that she needed to get to and never leave it. It will be her new home, Bashira is certain of it.

Stretching his paws out past his head, Bali was sprawled out in the soft grass. It was so warm today, and he couldn't resist a quick cat-nap. Well, maybe more of a long cat-nap. Besides, there really wasn't anything else for him to be doing, at any point in time, really. Ever since he left the company of that young female, though it was a fairly short encounter, he'd been roaming around rather aimlessly. He didn't mind, though, since his mind was pretty much empty. Without any thoughts, there wasn't anything to worry about.
And today was no exception. As the clouds in the sky drifted slowly overhead, his eyes took on the appearance of small glass balls, dazed and lifeless. He was bored, to say the least, but it didn't bother him in the least.

So lost in thought, she did not immediately detect the presence of another nearby. Normally, she would have already hidden herself from any prospective danger that was anywhere near her. However, the grass was soft enough and she was warm enough that only thing she was worried about was the future of her journey.
So many things had gone array in so many different ways. Sometimes she just wanted to stop and pick somewhere nice to live, like that valley she passed through a few weeks ago. She was in mid thought, when she heard a soft rustle nearby.
Springing up onto her feet, she quickly lowered herself to the ground and began to slink toward the sound quietly. Bashira wasn’t terribly interested in getting jumped again, so she’d check this one out in case she would have to make a break for it.
However, once she reached where the sound had come from, the only thing she saw was another cheetah lounging in the grass, much like she had been. Curious, she slowly approached him.

Closing his eyes for a few moments, Bali could feel the subtle twitch of his ears as they instinctively followed the path of a nearby sound. It didn't actually concern him for awhile, though, since sounds on the savannah really weren't anything new.
As the sound grew louder, he could tell that it was closing in on the area he was sprawled out in. Flicking his eyes open, he rolled onto his side, his mouth hanging slightly open. It really didn't take long to see what it was that was sound that was creeping ever-closer to him - amongst the natural colors of the savannah, the pale coloring of a ghost-like cheetah popped out immediately to him.
"Well what do we have here?" He called out gently to her, a small smile rising on his face. Company was nice, and he wasn't going to pass up this chance to talk to someone for a little while.

Bashira paused slightly at being addressed directly. Typically, she would sneak up on any others that peaked her interest and they usually ignored her or moved away. Living in the rogue lands had not provided her with many friendly encounters.
Encouraged however, she continued to approach the strange cheetah. Staring at him for a moment, she spoke in a slow and cautious voice, “Hello, I am Bashira....and I - I just noticed you here.” Despite being slightly taken aback, she felt her curiosity of this male growing after his open greeting.
She always liked running into other cheetahs as opposed to any of the other beings that lived on these lands. With her memories still being fresh in her mind, even if they had been from some time ago, she found it difficult for her to trust or even approach anyone that wasn’t another cheetah, especially the lions.
Awkwardly standing there, she tried to think of something else to say, but she came to a loss, not really having been socialized properly.

Staring blankly for a few moments, Bali wasn't quite sure as to what to do. She didn't really seem all that mean - well, she didn't seem mean in the least - and she was pretty straight-forward. It was something that Bali wasn't used to, especially from other cheetahs. Maybe it was just the area he lazed around in, or the company he tended to keep, opposed to the species themselves. Though, he wasn't really mean, either. Well, there goes that notion.
Stretching out his legs in front of him, he came up to a standing position. Looking at her up close like this, her pale coloring reminded him of a young female that he had recently parted ways with. Thinking back, it was something he almost regretted, being with someone that young. But if it was what she wanted, then there really shouldn't have been any reason for him to regret it, but the feeling still lingered within him.
"It's Bali." Crooking his head to the side, he showed a sly smile. "My name, that is." Taking a step forward, he moved to the side of Bashira, closing his eyes for a moment. "And what, may I ask, are you up to out this way?" His question was pure curiosity, as he rarely saw females out this way.

Taking a deep breathe, Bashira decided that she would stop being a coward and speak to the cheetah before her. She knew that she would never be truly normal, but she could try to get as close as she could.
It's been long enough, she'd spent the majority of her life attempting to avoid all contact. Especially since she escaped from there. She couldn't let them keep her afraid forever.
"I am here because," she started, but realized that even she wasn't sure. Looking at him, she simply said, "I am looking for something......somewhere actually." How long had she been searching now? Too long for her to want to think about it anymore.
"I didn't mean to come here really, I tend to wander from place to place," she spoke softly, thinking. "Do you live near here?"

Starting to bite his bottom lip, Bali never understood why others ever hesitated. Was it out of fear? Or just nerves building up in the moment? His belief was that if you were going to say something, then just go ahead and say it. If not, then the silence was just a waste of time.
But you know, looking at her, thinking like that seemed kind of mean. "For a place? What kind of place could have possibly perked your interest, miss?" Giving her a smile, he didn't really know of anywhere around here that she could be looking for. Maybe it was his own ignorance, but the idea of a place that someone would actually want to go to in this area built up some mixed emotions within him. What kind of place could it be? Was there a pride around here and he just didn't know it? That probably scared him the most; Bali would much rather be a part of a group rather than against one.
"Oh, I see. And I don't....really. I'm a bit of a wanderer myself." Chuckling, he flicked his tail back and forth behind him, trying to think of the last time he actually held a permanent residence.

Smiling a little herself, she replied."Well, I suppose that I don't really know where the place that I'm looking for is." It sounded silly, even to her, so she added,"I had a friend, a long time ago, and he could see,' she emphasized the word so that he knew what she meant. "He saw me in a place where I was happy, a place where I could live for the rest of my life, but I wasn't bored either. I could be useful at this place, and not sit around letting my abilities go to waste. It wasn't like many of the others places where people lived though, it was different, but in a good way."
Looking back up at him, she shook away her thoughts of mystical locations and lost friends. "It's not all bad wandering sometimes. I enjoy seeing the places that I end up in, sometimes. Also, wandering around so much, I think that I'm pretty familiar with my sense of direction in these lands now. It has also given me a lot of time on my own to think and learn for myself. Its good sometimes. Do you know where you're heading off to next?"

"You don't...know?" Squinting his eyes at her for a moment, it really did sound a little strange. Though, he had heard the stories of those with vision, but he had never met someone with it himself. At this point, he wasn't quite sure how he felt about those rare creatures. "Oh." Pausing, it was all kind of confusing to Bali. It was probably his rogue upbringing that left him puzzled at her words; he had never wanted to be useful to someone else, nor did he ever really feel like settling in a certain place.
"Well, if it's what you truly want, then I think the search is worth it." Giving her a small smile, at least he could relate to that. Bali was, at his core, rather self-centered, and when he wanted something, there was very little that could stop him from trying to get it. That's probably why he never really wanted to do anything for anyone else - they'd all just end up being in his way or bringing him down.
"I just kind of...go where my paws take me, y'know?" Looking towards the sky, he had never set out with a direction in mind. In fact, he can recall numerous times where he twirled a stick to figure out which direction he would travel. At this point in his life, he wanted to just live, and not worry about where he was going; he'd figure out what he was going to do once he got there. "I know it doesn't sound all that thought-out, but it's how I am." Chuckling a little, he thought of all the strange adventures he'd gotten himself into, and all of the experiences he'd had.
