Busara was laying in a grassy field a bit away from the base of the mountain. Her eyes were nearly closed as she had been taking a nap beneath the flowers. Staring up through blurry sleep filled eyes, she could make out the different colors of the flowers as they slowly rocked with the wind.
It had only been a couple of hours since had come here after hunting that morning and deciding to take a nap. She was having a relatively calm day, no strange inner voices bothered her today. She was actually feeling content and maybe even a little happy.
Idly, she wondered what the rest of the day would bring her. If only she could have days like this every day. It wasn’t always this simple to ignore the doubts that continually lingered in the back of her mind. In reality, somewhere in her mind, she knew exactly what she needed to truly settle here.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t bring herself to believed that something like that would affect her so much.

It had been a dismal morning of hunting for the gold lioness. Her hunting skills still had not greatly improved. Most animals heard her coming long before she saw them. Irritably her stomach growled. She had decided to go exploring to take her mind off her belly. There really was interesting things to be seen here.
Kakra came across a beautiful field of flowers and had to stop. The colors were just so pretty. For a moment it distracted her mind, but unfortunately not her stomach. A loud growl echoed over the field and she sighed. Why was this so hard?! Her butt plopped down into the flowers and she hung her head. Princess or no.

Busara was staring at a very interesting view of the back of her eye lids, and the warmth of the sun was slowly lulling her away when she heard a strange sound. Lifting her head up, she looked around to find the source of that strange noise.
However, the only thing that she saw was a familiar gold lioness a bit away from where she was laying. Smiling, she stood up and began to walk toward her to greet her. As she got closer, she heard that sound again, but louder this time.
It seemed to be coming from the direction that she was walking in, but the only thing that she could see was the other lioness. ‘Well that was strange’, she thought. Shrugging her shoulder she continued to approach her, but the closer that she got, the louder the noise was. “Hello! How are you doing today?”
Wait, was that strange noise coming from her?

Kakra had assumed she was alone. Thus is surprised her when a fellow lioness rose up out of the grass. "Oh!" She stared at Busara a couple of moments. "Hi Busara. I'm not doing well. My hunting has been horrible. I hope your day is better."

Busara smiled at her former traveling companion. Ever since she had first met the lioness, she had been more than a bit curious about her. She wasn’t....quite like others that she had met out on the plains, or here for that matter. However, she liked her and considered her a friend.
“My day is going well thankfully,” Busara replied. Frowning a bit, she listened as the other reveals the problem that she was still having. “You’re having trouble hunting huh? Well, everything gets better with practice,” she beamed optimistically.
It was an odd idea to her that Kakra wasn’t really skilled at hunting, she had assumed that everyone was. Busara decided that she would simply have to help the gold lioness along. “We’ll just have to hunt together more often won’t we? I’m sure you could pick it up.”
Pausing as she thought, she added, “If I remember correctly, there was plenty of extra food in the store. So I’m sure it would be alright if you took a break for today. You’re not used to this are you?” the gray lioness asked curiously.

She was happy to hear the other lioness' day was going well. Her eyes threw a glance at the grey lioness at the mention of practice. Everyone seemed to say that, but it never seemed to help her any. It was like they were hiding a secret they all knew, but no one would tell her. Her frustration was getting the better of her.
Kakra twitched her tail. "I've been practicing and practicing. This is all I have to show for it." She sounded bitter as she displayed her two empty front paws. Nothing. It surprised her when Busara offered to team up with her, and she looked up. "Really?" Maybe Busara would tell her the secret. After all they had spent some time traveling together.
She shook her head, wondering what extra food in the store had to do with her hunting now. Then the rest of the sentence reached her. Oh. Maybe she needed a break. It would be nice to be pampered a little bit. She sighed, remembering the lions at her beck and call at her old home. Kakra coughed, "um no. Not really."

The gray lioness thought hard at Kakra’s words. How she be practicing so much and not getting any better? She certainly seemed like she was trying her best. “Well, the only thing I can think of is that maybe you don’t know how to practice? How have you been doing it?,” she asked.
This couldn’t be too hard, she just needed some help. Busara loved to hunt, it reminded her of her parents when they were teaching her. They had made sort of a game out of it so that she could learn it easily. Breathe, aim, pounce! Breathe, aim, pounce! Good girl!
A soft laugh escaped her at the memory. It had been so silly, but she had loved it.

The only consolation to Kakra's pride was that Busara hadn't said that in front of the whole pride. She had to restrain herself from snapping at the other lioness. As it was, she stared off into the distance; completely ignoring Busara and her question for the moment. It didn't matter. She was a princess, better than any of them. When she had herself under control she turned back to the other lioness.
"I've been trying to catch something all day. Which is hard enough when I can barely find anything to chase." Not know how to practice really. How many possible ways could there be? Kakra turned her mind from that question. Surely not many. When the grey lioness started to laugh, Kakra couldn't but help take it personally. How dare she laugh at her!
Icily she glared at Busara. "I don't see what's all so funny."

Unbeknownst to the agitation she was causing the other lioness, she continued, “You’d be surprised how complex hunting can actually be, it’s harder than it looks. Just let me know the next time you go hunting, I think I can help you.”
She knew for a fact that hunting required a certain skill in tactics and strategy that one might not immediately recognize. “Also, I know some pretty good spots to find whatever you want to catch. I’ll take you there one day.”
Somewhere along the pride’s border, there was the opening to a lush patch of dense trees where the river that flowed through their own pride traveled through. There were many edible creatures that lived within the thicket. Looking up at her comment, Busara suddenly realized that Kakra thought that she had been laughing at her.
She immediately said, “Oh Kakra, I was just thinking about my parents teaching me to hunt when I was younger. Let’s just say that I wasn’t the most graceful girl, and would always manage to hurt myself. Tell you what, let’s go back and I’ll show whatever you want to know tomorrow. How does that sound?” Turning to head back home, she looked at the other for her answer.

Tell me something I don't already know, she thought icily in the others direction. Kakra twitched an ear at the faint promise. "Anything? Something even I could catch?" She felt hope for a moment, then it vanished. Busara had said 'one day' but didn't specify anything else. Somehow, she felt the grey lioness was just saying that to make her feel better.
She stared coldly for a moment more then consented to relax. "I guess we were all pretty funny as cubs." Ungainly things with legs to long for their bodies. Kakra eyed the other lioness then nodded. She'd absolutely had enough hunting for today. Getting a full belly and resting off her paws is all she wanted. With a groan, she rose and headed off after her fellow pride member.
