this picture was for an art contest i'm whoring over right now.
i've been told by a friend the fans don't resemble themselves like they should and color choices are bad.
i've already turned in the picture, so there's no reparing it, but i'd like to know really what i've done right and what i've done wrong.
so i'm here to ask for the opinions of the Superfriends, Justice Leage, Band of Religios Dieties Art Fags.

I think the foreground is pretty groovy. You could have done with some references for the fans and for the head- the ear looks small, flat and too close to the eye. Since it is right in the middle of the page it should have had more attention paid to it.

The lady in the background, however, is just.. ouch. neutral

I realise you were probably trying to keep the gore level down in this but I would have liked the blood redder!

(actually saying that, I am seriously starting to doubt this laptop screen. I have no idea how to gauge the ******** of my colours.)

The only part of it I really like is the guys face in the foreground, the messy lines don't bother me there because it fits and still looks effective.

Although.

The fans are just shoddy it looks way too 2D, fans even when splayed out have folds;

My suggestion here is to make better use of shading to give the impression of depth, also having a referance helps : )

The girl just doesn't sit right with me at all.
And the blood looks too pink : (
+thebackground looks too empty.
