 A slight shimmering glow of silver and gold lead Melanie this peaceful river. It's currents were clean and clear and full of wonderful life. Tiny fish swam at her feet, lightly nibbling on the hairs of her chest. "Hey now! Stop it! That tickles." Her laugh was soft, but not overly feminine. Her hooves skirted the bottom, making sure she didn't loose her balance on a rock or a stick, which for her, wouldn't be uncommon in the least.
Dunking her head under the surface her opened her eyes to watch the aquatic life move around her. How odd! She snorted, and accidentally breathed in water through her nose. Tossing her head back, above the water, she choked and snorted until she could breath properly again. "Great! I think I scared them away" she glanced down at the ripping water and sighed. Yup, just her luck.

Lyrica lied on her side in a shaded area very near a river that she had known for years. It was a nice day out so she decided to take advantage of the day and relax for once, away from the little foals of her heard. The young mare took a deep breath in and sat up slightly, still laying down, just not fully anymore. Her eyes shifted closed as she listed to the birds in the atmosphere, that is until she heard laughing. Lyrica's eyes fluttered open and she stood up, stretching slightly, a small, thin smile resting on her mouth.
The tan mare approached the river and looked out from behind a tree, raising an eyebrow slightly. She watched silently for a while before the other mare threw her head out of the water, half choking. She chuckled and walked out of the small forest and looked at her with smiling eyes " Oi, are ye alright?" She asked and looked at her from a distance.

Ears twitching at the sound of laughter, she whirled around to meet the owner. A beautiful tan Unicorn with a stylish sword was approaching. And what an odd accent she had! A smile curved her lips as she nodded slightly. "I'm alright. Just a little clumsy is all." she chuckled a bit at herself. "Sadly, stuff like this happens alot. No matter how careful I am."
Melanie made her way to the edge, not yet ready to get out, but just curious enough to want to get a better look at the other mare. Flipping her long, drenched bangs out of her eyes and tilted her head, eying the long, thin sword at her side. "What do you use that for? It looks like it could be used to cut large pieces of fruit"

She carefully eyed the yearling as she made her way closer to herself. She had no suspicions for the roan mare. She was just always on her toes was all. Nothing to be offended by. She breathed out heavily and watched as Melanie flipped her bangs out of her face, eying the sword. "yes, I do use my cutlas, for many things. That being one reason, I also have it for protection. There have been issues with teh skinwalks way up yonder where i come from. Ye always have to watch out there." she chuckled once more and put the blade back in its correct place.

Wading gently in the water, she couldn't help but smile at the mare. Mel definitely didn't notice she looked so good for her age. Being a great grandmother, she mus have looked really good. "God, I haven't been a filly for years now." she smiled, clearly taking the mishap for a compliment. "I guess acting the way you feel does wonders cause my children have children, which have children" She chuckled softly and nodded. "I'm quite careful most of the time, it just seems i have bad luck is all. But I never mind it, letting stuff get to you, gives you wrinkles." Melanie couldn't help bark out a small laugh.
Lowering her muzzle to the water she took a quick drink and listened as the mare spoke about skinwalkers. Though she had been around the area for a while, she never heard about any of those creatures being the area. Though, being mostly a solitary mare, it wasn't that odd. "Hopefully they don't come this way." she gave an inward shiver at the thought. "God, I hope not."
