Amethyst pranced through the forest, following after a particularly colorful butterfly. It wasn't unusual for her to wander off on her own after something or other. She hummed quietly, a song that her mate Hoshi always sang to her when they were alone.

Dayunsi was worried, he had been gathering more herbs for the Willowglen stocks with Niwatu before they were separated. His son had gotten distracted by a passing animal most likely, nothing too hazardous, he would find his way home in time, but still with the recent events he'd prefer to know his son was safe. With a shake of his head the small flutter continued his way down the brook that would eventually turn into the river when it hit the plains. It wasn't long though before his ears picked up the humming of a song and he turned to discover where it was coming from.

The dryad mare beamed as she spotted the stallion. To her everyone was a potential friend just waiting to be found. She bounded over, "Hi there! Amy's name is Amy! What's your name?" Her eyes were wide as she eyed the stallion and giggled. It was fun to meet others! Her hind end wiggled in anticipation of some friendly conversation.

The little flutter was taken aback for a moment at her exuberance; she almost reminded him of his daughter. He smiled friendly and made a small bow in the air. "Greetings, it is nice to meet you Amy, I am Dayunsi though many people call me Day." He looked around for a convenient branch and landed upon it, resting his wings for a moment. "And where might you be from?" He was curious, never having seen a mare like her. It seemed like crystals grew from her back, something that would be more unusual had he not have vines growing through his mane.

"Amy doesn't know exactly how to explain where she came from. She just knows it was very far away. She chased a flutterby and was found by a nice two-legger. She helped Amy to find her Hoshi. He's Amy's maple butt!" She giggled and pranced over to squint at the flutter. "Where is Day-pretty from?"

"Maple butt?" The flutter was curious for a moment, always interested in finding about other soquili who might be knowledgeable of flora. With a chuckle he answered her question. "I am from here, well, I mean I live here now. There is a glade not far from here that I have a small little garden I tend." He often took care of the plants, flowers and herbs important to keep the forest beautiful or the denizens of the forest healthy. "I have been here for a very long time, it is my home."

"Hoshi has a maple leaf on his butt." Amethyst nodded and smiled. Her eyes went round at the thought of a garden all to herself. It sounded wonderful. She loved flowers, they brought flutterbyes! Flutterbyes were her favorite things after Hoshi and her precious gems.
"Day-pretty is lucky. He has his own flowers with flutterbyes and everything! Does Day-pretty have precious gems? Amy does, she loves her precious gems. They are Amy's special pretties."

Dayunsi shook his head, "No I do not have any precious gems, I feel the flowers and herbs of the land are much more beautiful to myself though I know that Malis is one who enjoys the trinkets and gems." He tilted his head to the side for a moment, thinking. She no longer reminded him of his daughter but she did have some interesting qualities much like some of the mares of the Vitterfolk herd. Day smiles warmly, "Your gems are quite lovely, a very pretty shade of purple."

Amy blinked and looked him. What were trinkets? She knew what gems were. They were like the shineys on her back. It was sad that Day-pretty didn't have precious gems. What was it Hoshi's momma called them? Amy thought hard for a moment. Babies! That was it!
"Day-pretty has no....ummm...babies? Yes babies. That's what Candy-momma calls them. What's a trinket?"

Babies? Dayunsi did not get the connection between his question and hers but answered anyways. "Well I do have children, my son was just with me a few moments ago before he wandered off." The thought reminded him of his worries before he decided to push it aside for now. "I also have five daughters, three of them with my lovely Imogen." He smiled at the memory of her bright heart and beautiful looks before answering her second question. "A trinket is a small gem, jewel or token that has a shiny look to it or some kind of value."
