Her paw traced in the dirt, making little shapes and designs as she drew. She smiled, enjoying the outcome and then just decided it was a good way to spend her time. Lying down on her belly, she continued doodling. She began humming, her hum still really soft as she wasnt the type to be loud, and boisterous. No, Nili preferred to be alone and in the quiet. It was just far more peaceful and she liked living with the drama. The clouds were bad enough!

Damn Clouds. Always talking to her and asking her things. Its not like the much understood the reply most times but still they'd ask. Sometimes she felt they told her whenever it was going to rain. It was almost like they were singing whenever it was going to rain.

Today though, they had been surprisingly quiet.

User ImageAfter discovering his muse, Circe, rarely a day went by that Dvija was found without the pretty little bird. Today was a day like any other, and the big lion made his way through the jungle that was his homeland. Circe was perched on his shoulder, singing a sweet little song that made little sense but amused Dvija none-the-less.

Circe's song mingled with a soft hum, and Dvija's ears perked at the sound. Circe quieted as well, her eyes narrowing. She was oftentimes protective of Dvjia -- she did consider him as belonging to her, after all, and she played the part of muse without compare.

"Shh, Circe," Dvija said, and the bird rolled her eyes. She'd already silenced her song before he'd made mention of it.

"I hate it when you tell me to do something I've already done," the bird groused.

Honestly, at first she thought that the singing was the clouds and the thought that it was going to be raining soon. But when the song was entirely different, she perked her ears and stopped her drawing. Raising her eyes, she started looking around with a nervous, yet curious gaze.

Standing, she stepped closer to the source of the sounds, and when a big blue lion came into sight she stopped. Lowering herself to the earth, she observed him and his pink companion.

She tried to hear what they were saying to each other but she wasnt near close enough for that. And she dared not say anything. She wasnt sure who these two were!

"I'm sorry, Circe," Dvija said softly as he often did when the bird grew annoyed by him. He narrowed his eyes as he peered out into the jungle. Had he seen something move? He was certain he had.

"You're always sorry, Dvija," Circe complained, oblivious to the fact that they didn't appear to be alone, "and yet you never stop telling me to do things that I've already done." She peered at him in slight annoyance, her feathers ruffling with indignity.

Dvija didn't reply, distracted by what he thought might've been the outline of a lioness crouched tight to the ground. He took a few more steps closer, slowly so as not to frighten the female. Yes, there she was. He could see her now.

"When you tell me to do things that I'm already doing it makes me not want to do them anymore."

Crap. She had been spotted, she could tell by his stare. She gulped, and still stayed down to the earth. She wasnt quite sure what she should do. Should she run and avoid conflict? Stay and hope he just walked on? Or maybe she should be the aggressor, and walk out first.

The inner turmoil she had inside herself made her narrow her eyes grumpily. Damn it, why did she have to be so indecisive. Finally she came to a decision. She needed to be the one to stand up first. She was shy, but she was hoping that that would scare the other off without her needing to fight.

She watched the bird too, hoping that it wasnt some sort of attack pidgeon. Though that one she highly doubted. She hadnt ever really seen an attack pidgeon.. The clouds had mentioned them though.

Sometimes Circe could really get on his nerves. He felt bad when he was irritated by her, but she was just as bad as ... he didn't know... something that was bad. And annoying.

He knew the lioness had seen him when she swallowed visibly. He offered her a soft smile. She reminded him a little of the sky -- her colors were pretty. "I mean you no harm," he said softly, hoping his words would coerce her out from her hiding spot. She was deep within the boundaries of the pride which meant she likely lived here, as well.

Circe chittered grumpily, tugging on a piece of Dvija's mane. She was still clueless about the third party they'd stumbled upon.

"Of course you mean me no harm," she clacked her beak, "I am your muse, after all."

She cleared her throat, standing tall though her tail twitched nervously. She didn't ever remember being this nervous, and she didn't like the way it made her feel. She really needed to work on her social skills.

"You'd better not." She said, and then started stepping closer. Slow steps of course. One, stop. Two, Stop.

"Before I come closer, what is your name?" She asked, narrowing her eyes and pausing completely. Her tail still was flicking like crazy.

"Im a trained fighter!" (LIE).. Oh she was sure full of it today.

Circe screeched and launched herself from Dvija's shoulder, her wings providing the lift that carried her into the trees. She perched nervously on a low branch and peered at the lioness she just now realized was there.

"Dvija, why didn't you say anything?!"

Dvija ignored her blatantly, his eyes resting on the pretty lioness before him.

"I am Dvija, son of Laf'lari and Rai. We are a part of this pride." He paused for a quick second before following up his statement with, "And what is your name?" He decided it was best not to question her final comment.

She relaxed when the male told her he was part of the pride. She had to trust hte pride right? Even if she felt the only things she could really trust were the clouds.. and herself. And even trusting herself was a dangerous task at hand. But she smiled, even if only a small one. It was better than no smile at all..

"I..I go by Nili." She said with a bow of her head in greeting. She really didnt take too much stock in who his family were. She really didnt take time to know anyone in the pride, and that was a downfall in times like these.

"She looked at the pink bird, and watched her fly into the trees before her eyes fell back on the beautiful, blue male.

"Nili," Dvija grinned at the lioness. "It's a pretty name. That there is Circe. My muse," he continued, watching Nili carefully while he gestured at the bird. She was pretty and reminded him of a cool morning near the sea. She was also skittish, and Dvija didn't want to push her to interact if she did not wish to.

"I am on my way back home," Dvija commented, tilting his head towards the central pride area, "if you'd like to join me on a walk tonight, you are welcome to do so. If not, perhaps we could meet again. I would like that," he chuckled, looking a little sheepish.

Circe flew back down to land upon Dvija's shoulder, and she watched the lioness shrewdly. She wasn't sure what to make of Nili, and so she decided it would be best to keep her beak closed for the time being. Maybe later she would cluck at Dvija, but for now she would be patient and see how things played out.

She smiled, nodding her head. She could go for a walk. She'd actually welcome it. Though she managed to kep away from the bird. She made her suspicious, and Nili wasn't sure she really liked birds..

Though she nodded her head when he introduced the bird. Wasnt like she was going to be rude to this male's muse.

"Lead the way." She said, ready to go for that walk. She was ready for a little social interaction.. It had been a long, long time.
