The thick growth of three trees always felt comforting and the moon always refreshing. But did it seem that way for everyone? She didn't know why not. The world seemed at peace at this times and she usually took these times to run through the trees, just to feel her heart racing.
But, it was time she checked in with the family. Since she had taken her mate, Jacob, she usually stayed to their own patch of forest. She preferred her privacy after all. But she did miss her brothers. Very much.
Lifting her head, she scented the air. Yes, definitely close. If she wasn't mistaken, one of her brothers was close by.

Moonshine slept during the night now, one of the main reasons he didn't see his family often which made him feel even more a lone. The night was seemingly gorgeous which made him stay up a bit longer then normal but the blind fold he still had on made it hard to see at night. He was to afraid to take it off there was no telling when he would find someone to put it back on him.
He sniffed the ground checking to find a place that smelled right to sleep. Scent was an important thing to him more important even then what the ground felt like. He found a place under a beat up looking dead tree. The ground was soft to boot with a place between to big roots that he curled into perfectly.
No sooner had he settled down did he hear hoof beats approaching. His yellow eyes shot open and he glared into the darkness. Moonshine was becoming more and more like those who spent time in the daylight. Assuming everything that moves at night is something bad, which was easy enough to do with so many skinwalkers and Kalona about. He pushed himself down hoping to vanish against the old tree. His ears perked listening as the sounds drew closer. Before long a figure broke through the trees and he instantly breathed a sigh of relief seeing it was only his sister. "Mercy?" Moonshine called out wanting to make double sure it was her, plus he was to lazy to get up and go to her.

Mercy's ears perked up at her name and she felt herself smile. It was her one of her brothers, like she suspected. "Moonshine.." She couldn't wait a moment longer, she quickly made her way over to him, sniffing and nuzzling his neck as if it had been days and not months since they had last seen each other. She was definitely one for physical affection and nothing could stop her from showing sibling love. "It's been too long, brother. Have you fared well lately?" she couldn't help but notice the scrap hanging over his eyes. She had to resist the urge to tug it free. "What is that thing over your eyes?"

Moonshine flinched as she touched him, not used to anyone touching him of late. Or knowing him even, he had yet to make even one friend. "Yes, it has been awhile my sister..." He still didn't get up though he was tired from a long day of wishing to talk to other but not being brave enough. Moonshine simply grumbled a reply to how he was fairing before speaking again. "How have you been my sister, I do not think I have seen you since I left Mother and Father for awhile." Moonshine blinked he sometimes forgot the blindfold was on until it was itching. No wonder this night seems so dark but he couldn't very well take it on and off himself. "Its a blindfold. I day walk now and my eyes are very sensitive to the sun. Do you think you could take it off for now? I can only take it off when I know someone can put it back on for me."

Mercy stepped back slightly, tilting her head at her brother. She felt him flinched and couldn't help but feel bad. She had left their parents as well, shortly after he did. She realized it just wasn't the place for her anymore and had taken up residence with her mate, Jacob.
She lowered her head to remove the blindfold with her teeth and placed it next to him so it could be easily accessed if need be. "Life has been good to me. I'm not with Ma and Da anymore.. I live not far from here with my mate. Two wonderful daughters, though, I admit, I worry about one." she glanced at her hooves for a moment before giving him a smile. "What about you, brother? Why would you wear a blindfold simply to walk during the day? We are more comfortable during the night. Arent, you?" Why would he go through so much trouble just to stay awake during the day? To her, it was just a bit of a hassle. "Is everything.. alright, Moonshine?"
Mercy couldn't help but settle down beside him, curling her tail around his side. Her eyes soft, but filled with concern for him.

Moonshine smiled a little, it did him good to know his sister was happy. He felt a little sad he hadn't met her daughters yet though. "I'd like to meet them sometime Mercy. Your mate too, I should really get to figuring out what all is going on with the family I suppose."
What smile he had vanished as she asked him how he was and why he wore a blindfold. He looked away a bit trying to figure out if he should tell her the truth of make her feel like everything was ok. At this point he figured between him flinching from her touch and his hesitation to speak now to tell he was fine she would see as a lie.
"No its not alright...if I walk the night I'm viewed as food by most. Dad seems to do ok, but he has mom with him so he isn't alone. And when I walk the day...no one talks to me...or approaches me. Most take the long way around me. I don't have a friend, I don't have a mate, and I don't seem to belong anywhere. There was this one girl, she gave me the blindfold, but I've never seen her again since that one night so I've chosen to forget her. What should I do Mercy? I don't want to be alone forever..." Moonshine laid his head down his version of crying really though he would never actually cry. "I want....to talk about something else too...something that scares me....and is really...I don't know....perhaps sick of me or at least wrong in some way.....can I trust you Mercy?" Moonshine eyed his sister he had never spoken this to anyone but he felt like Mercy was the only one he could ever talk to.

Mercy smiled warmly "Your always welcome.. And I'd love for you to meet them." In truth, she had missed her brother more than most of her family. Perhaps it was just easier to talk to him, and she didn't have that weird feeling feeling she did around her mother and Nori.
Resting her head against the small of his shoulder and she gave him what she hoped to be a comforting nuzzle. "I can't tell you where you belong Moon.. but just know that you are always welcome among your family." she didn't want to push him or tell him what to do, this was obviously something he needed to find out himself. But she couldn't help but feel her heart break for him. "You can trust me with anything..."

Moonshine smiled a bit he liked the idea that his sister and her knew family would meet him. How did mercy end up so sweet compared to his brother Nori.
"Maybe...welcome,but I don't think I fit in...even dad eats fish now...I can stomach the stuff or anything that isn't plants for that matter." Moonshine sighed maybe stuff like that shouldn't matter, but it did.
Moonshine took a deep breath and seemed to be thinking about what he wanted to say. "I think...I'm even more of a freak...because I'm....well I think I might be attracted to...." He seemed really nervous like he didn't even wish to finish what he had to say. "Stallions...." Moonshine gave her a terrified look. Afraid what she might say, what she might think. Even more so he was terrified that it came out of his mouth. Something he wasn't sure about yet it scratched at his mind like thorns. Then he moved the hide his face he wished he hadn't said anything to her at all about it.

"I am family too you know!" she gave his side a gentle n**. Since she didn't have sharp teeth some of her family had, it surely didn't hurt, and was simply to bring him back to her. "You don't have to live with them. I wouldn't mind it if you stayed with me... I don't eat meat that often, myself. I eat it more for special occasions, or when Jake brings it to me and it's only fish. I couldn't stand to hurt anything fuzzy." Mercy gave a slight disgusted look at the thought. She wouldn't even hurt a rabbit if the thing bit her. Would probably even try to cuddle it.
Settling back down she smiled and started grooming him out of habit. When one had pups, it usually just came naturally, and after all, it was another comfort Mercy was sure he hadn't been getting. His announcement neither surprised her, or shocked her. She wouldn't have guessed he was attracted to the same gender, but neither of it mattered to her. He was her brother, and she'd always love him no matter what.
She paused in her grooming and moved so she could see his face. "Moon, look at me.." she searched his face and could see the terror clear on his face, and possibly shame. "Love, is love. It doesn't matter who it is, so long as your happy. You understand? And don't let anyone tell you different. Or they'll be dealing with me"

"I know I know..." Moonshine whined a bit before huffing. "Mom needs help with the baskets now...I can't trust Nori to help. He is cold as a winters breeze sometimes. And thank you, but I doubt I will feel any different. Night time just feels to dangerous to me anymore..."
Moonshine closed his eyes enjoying the grooming indeed something he was in dire need of and sorely missed.
It took him a moment to look at her and after she spoke he just looked confused. "Thank you Mercy...I guess I'm really not sure, but I think that's the way I am. Its hard though...I've never heard of anyone else like this. I thought you might want nothing to do with me once you found out. I know I can't tell anyone else in the family for sure. Dad might kill me....do you think I'll be alone forever because of it?"

Mercy nodded, definitely understanding the need to stay close to their parents now that they had new babies to take care of. Their brother definitely was a bit prickly. She always wondered how he would be with his own children.
Smiling, she nuzzled moonshines neck. "I just hope you find something that makes you feel comfortable with who you are." she couldn't help but feel a little bad for him. She had never heard of two males together, or two females together. But if one person feels that way, theirs bound to be others. Or at least that was her thinking. "I have no doubt that you will find someone. Though I wouldn't recommend telling the parents until your completely sure about your feelings." It would be useless scaring him if he was just a bit curious about the same sex. After all, she was a bit a time or two.
