A few days had passed since everyone had rushed into Riley's room to find her lying in her own blood with crystals embedded into her backside. While Jericho had tried to check up on her, he was shoo'd off with ever attempt thus far. That did not stop him from trying again today, however.
He was worried about the well-being of his best friend, and if he had been allowed, he would have totally bunked out at her room to keep tabs onto her. This wasn't quite the case, so he was doing the next best thing. Today he even brought some jellied kobold brains for her.
Entering her room, he peeked around to try and see where she was.
"Riley?" he called out. Hopefully she wouldn't just kick him right out like she had the previous times.

In my room. Riley called out clearly, as if she wasn't doing something strenuous. Of course, her voice was normally not affected by her physical activities, and so when Jericho entered the room to find her hanging upside down from a bar and pulling herself up by her legs, it might come as a slight surprise.
Nonetheless, Riley had not stopped training to get her legs back in working order since the day she had first stood back upon them.
Her legs shook with the stress of trying to pull herself up, and she was only managing to bend her body halfway up before she had to drop it back down. Her tentacles heaved, breathing heavily within them.
Overworking herself? Of course. Was this really so much of a surprise? It shouldn't be.

There was a sort of relief felt when Riley's words came across as rather normal rather than filled with anger. Letting out a breath, the dragon went on into her room carefully. It was dark in the living room as usual, but he kind of knew his way around by now.
"Hey Riley, I brought some jellied..."
His voice trailed off as he stepped into the bedroom to find the Mindflayer hanging upside down. Well that was unexpected. While he knew her to be a hard worker, it still wasn't quite the sort of thing he expected to walk into.
"Kobold brains," he finished blinking, "Hard at work as usual I see.. though isn't this a little much right now? You got hurt pretty badly."
Then again, he wasn't really sure how effective Cricket's healing was.

I'm glad you're here. Riley's calm voice sounded completely out of place with how her body heaved in exertion. You're correct. I have overdone it. In approximately seven and a half seconds, the muscles in my legs are going to reach their limit and I am going to drop. Any chance you could stop this from happening?
Of course, by the time she'd finished speaking, it was five seconds away. Now four.. three..

"Oh?"
Well, Riley certainly didn't give Jericho a lot of chance to think, dropping the stats like that. Without wasting any time, he rushed over so he could catch her.. .and hopefully not get smacked with those crystalline wings in the process. Those things.. still looked rather sharp.

Riley's wings were behind her, and she was facing Jericho, so he was saved from injury due to the fact that, when she did collapse, he was catching her from the front. She was now toe to head with the boil, and tried not to laugh despite the burning pain in her legs.
You can put me down on the bed. I don't think we'll get anything done in this position.

Glad that he had managed to catch her, Jericho let out a breath before chuckling at Riley's comment. Well this was a rather awkward position to be in. Carefully, he set her down onto the bed, trying not to be too rough so as to not harm her.
"There we go," He said once she was down, "How long were you doing that? Better yet... how are you feeling today?"
He went to reach for the bag he had dropped in his rush to catch the Mindflayer, setting it onto the bed as well. The brains were inside.

Riley plopped down on the bed, on her back no less - a sign that things were starting to look up, somewhat. Of course, the crystals still ripped at her clothes then she turned over, but at least there was no more blood.
I was doing that for a half hour. Not long at all. I used to be able to pull my entire body up, too - but it will take a while before I fully recover. I should have stopped when I felt the strain, but.. ah. She chuckled weakly. You know me.
She was definitely in a better mood this day, than previously. Her tentacles were sneaking, quite badly, over to his bag, and trying to worm their way in. I smell a treat for Riley.. she murmured in a sing-song.

"That I do," Jericho chuckled, glad to see that the Mindflayer was in much better spirits today than the last few, "Just.. try not to go overboard ok? I might not be around to catch you next time."
He raised an eyebrow before grinning as he caught sight of her tentacle sneaking over towards the bag. The dragon plopped down onto the bed next to Riley and opened it up so he could pull out the jellied brains for her.
"A treat for Riley indeed. Thought this might... help with the recovery a bit."

Riley's tentacles stopped digging when he spoke, and quirked her head slowly up at him while laying on her stomach. I thought you told me you'd always be there to catch me. She corrected, giving him a wary look. What can I trust, if not that?
The brains won her over, though, and her attentions returned to sliding her tentacles into them even as he held them in his hands. The wariness in her eyes vanished, replaced by a more content expression. Even without realizing it, the wings behind her fluttered in happiness, and she made a little content sound of relief. I am so hungry. I didn't even realize it.

"I will always be there for you, for as much as I can anyway. I did spend two weeks waiting out your door and all," Jericho said with a quirked brow. He was still holding the brains. Well. He was. They were gone before too long, leaving his hand empty.
"Between the exercising and healing... your body probably really wanted the boost," He chuckled before staring at the wings, "Do they still hurt at all?"
Since the brains were done with, he scooted over so that he was sitting right next to her on the bed.

Instinctively, Riley leaned against him when he scooted to sit beside her. Her head used his arm as a pillow. Yeah, they do. But, it's difficult to feel it, because all of me hurts. My body is unused to moving, and I am pushing it back over its limit. Therefore, every muscle is in a constant state of pain - and the pain from my back muscles is just.. part of the whole. Therefore, I can do this-
She lifted them up, flattening them out so that their shape was obvious.
-And it doesn't really phase me. Though, once my muscles are back in shape, and don't hurt all the time, I bet I will feel the regrettable force of them once more.
She rolled her shoulders, and the wings backed down, lowering themselves to a relaxed position.
I feel like a bloody faerie, Jericho. I can no longer look at myself in the mirror. It disgusts me. Her eyes suddenly blinked up to him, widening. Don't tell Astra I said that, though.

Furrowing his brow with concern, Jericho watched as she managed to move her wings. He didn't much like the thought of her being in constant pain.
"Well... if you need a massage at any point.." he started while lifting up his hands, "I am kinda able to focus heat into my hands now."
He grinned weakly at the comment.
"They're not horrible. I still stand by what I said about you being able to put them to some use eventually.. once you've healed and strengthened your body properly," he said while thinking it over, "Besides, they're jacking sharp. No fairy out there has razors for wings."

She only thought about it for a moment. I.. would be a fool to say no to an offer like that. Heat is exactly what the muscles need right now. Strictly speaking, a heat massage would probably help me more than even a hot shower. She reached out and picked up one of his hands, giving it a long look as she turned it around in her grasp. So, you're creating heat now, are you? That's new. An excellent skill. Please, feel free to practice on my body.
She laid out flat, folding her arms under her chin. They are sharp. I will give you that. But they're still ridiculous... of all the shapes they could have taken - ah, it was useless to complain. She was stuck with them, and trying to see the silver lining was why she needed Jericho by her side. Fine. What use can I put them in? I shall place raw meat on the ends and let you barbeque them. Or marshmallows, perhaps? She snickered.

"Yes. If I focus enough, I can eventually set fire to flammable objects. Maybe with time I'll be able to get it to where I can set things on fire pretty quickly with a touch," Jericho grinned before shifting so he could face her more easily. He figured he may as well start now.
"Well.. that's one use," he chuckled before taking in a breath so he could start trying to concentrate FEAR into his hands.
"If you get close enough, and build up enough strength, you may be able to strike an enemy and deal a fair amount of damage at that. That aside... well.. they are wings... I wonder..."
His thoughts trailed off as he started to focus some more. The dragon wasn't trying to focus too much FEAR into his hands since he didn't want to burn Riley, but it was hopefully enough so he could generate more heat than usual. He started with her closest arm just to ... warm up.
