Maisie A purple, striped mare with feather baring locks of hair lightly padded her hoof the salty tides that rolled up on shore to greet her. It had been so long since she had been to the beach. Perhaps the last time was with her mother, before her life got so murky with sorrow. A flashback hit her though, replacing bad times with good ones. "Oh, I suppose it hasn't been that long since I've laid eyes on the ocean..." she muttered to herself as she recalled a mighty angeni with markings that made him blend in with the night sky. Then the pleasant day that followed after that and the first meeting with dear Chandra. She missed her friend deeply, and wondered if they'd ever met up. She had just been so busy with her family that she had forgotten all relationships. Chandra Chandra found it strange walking, although it wasn't obvious to the whole world she could feel a slight bump appearing, it was heavier and rounder than normal and she was almost positive she could feel the small lives kicking within her. She smiled, she hadn't really stopped since everyone in her herd had been happy for her... and Sonnet was happy.... so she was happy. Chandra had always wanted foals of her own, it was part of the reason why she had wanted to become a midwife, to see the wonder of life first hoof. But it was for a more 'selfish' reason that she wandered this afternoon... she wanted something sweet, a craving so strong she had not been able to ignore it. Yet as she found herself wandering towards the beach she noticed something..... Maisie? Surprise covered her features before she blinked and smiled, "Maisie? MAISIE?" She called out.

Maisie As if her distant memory was reaching out to Maisie noticed the faintest call of her name. Her ear gave a slight twitch as if trying to get water out of it. Had she heard right? No, impossible. What were the chances that- wait! There it was again. She turned her head every which way in hopes to spot the carrier of that haunting voice. There it was. A pleasantly recognizable face standing off in the distance. "Chandra? Oh! Chandra, dear!" she turned her back on the waves and approached her good friend in a trot. "Oh, we haven't seen each other in so very long. How have you been? How's your father? How's the family?" She dumped these questions on the girl rather quickly, smothering her with the curiousity she held. Chandra Chandra chuckled at the mares abundence of question, trying to remember each one so she could actually answer. With a ide grin she finally spoke, "Slow down Maisie." She laughed again, the move making her almost 'glow' the white teeth shining out against her darker pelt. "I am well, my father is well, everyone is well...." And was when it hit her... she hadn't actually told anyone who was just her friend about her wonderful surprise, and since her father believed that the Ocean called to him so often for a reason she couldn't help but suspect him right..... she had been summoned here to see Maisie! Unable to hold it back she blurted out, "I'm pregnant!"

Maisie The winged female seemed to be overwhelmed with her question after question so of course it was expected that she would be told to back off a bit and relax. A faint blush rose in the girl's cheeks, hidden by her dark hue. "My apologizes..." she muttered and gave a sweet smile that crept onto the mare's lips. With good news being rained upon the moment Maisie smiled wider and wider with each passing answer. "Oh, good-good. I'm so glad to hear that," her yellow orbs beamed with happiness for the girl. There was only a brief moment of silence before the bomb was dropped on the unsuspecting Cerynei. At first the soft spoken female didn't know what to say. "Chandra.... you're.... you're pregnant?" she had trouble phathoming it. None the less, she smiled brightly and closed the gap between the two. "Oh, I'm so happy to hear that. When did this happen? How far along? I've never met the lucky man. How dare you not introduce me to him," she scolded her friend playfully with a light laugh added on the end. Chandra Chandra smiled softly, "Sorry...." She chuckled, knowing just how much of a 'bomb' it was, it had taken a while for the news to truely sink in, and to be honest it probably hadn't actually become real to Chandra until after she had shared the good news with Sonnet. "Not too far along," she smiled, "but... I can feel movement!" She hadn't yet shared that thought with Sonnet or her mother in fear that she was wrong, it was so faint and delicate that at times she feared she was making it up... wanting it to be more than it was. With a smile she added just as her stomach started to growl, "I am getting.... cravings." Again it was another weird thing to admit and experience.

Maisie The apology that the youthful mare gave was enough to make Maisie give a light laugh. There was no need to feel sorry for such a little thing as being excited and blurting out in happiness. At least, Maisie hoped it was out of happiness and not because the female feared her reaction. "No need for feeling sorry, Chandra, dear," she reassured her friend with a gentle nuzzle. It was no surprise when the angeni explained how it wasn't far along. She was hardly noticing the baby bump on her friend even now that she was close and bluntly staring. The mare usually would be so timid and shy about such situations but ever since raising her first batch of bouncing baby boys she became a bit tougher, for the better. "Movement you say? Oh, I remember when I felt mo-" she paused for a moment before realizing that Chandra had never met her family. Her love, her three handsome boys. Her heart yearned with regret from not telling the one person who she practically felt invincible standing next to. "Well, cravings are all part of the process it seems. I remember when I had them.... when I had my beautiful boys in my belly. Chandra, I'm a mother as well. Oh, isn't it wonderful we'll have yet another thing to fawn over? I'm so deeply sorry I didn't come to you sooner to share the news though... I certainly feel like a lousy friend..." she lowered her eyes to the sand beneath her hooves and began to revert back to her anti-social habits. Chandra Chandra stood with her mouth open as Maisie passed on the news, she was a mother too? Chandra felt a twang of regret, she would have loved to have been a midwife to her and her children, it was after all Chandra's calling. Still, the mare before her seemed good and healthy and the very mention of her family seemed to add a glow that Chandra envied.... though she was sure she would be the same. "What did you crave?" she asked, curious about her friend and the pregnancy she missed, a soft blush covered her cheeks as she said, "I want.... strawberries.... and sweet things." But it was typical that she would want something that was going out of season.

Maisie There was a shift in Chandra's expression that pained Maisie to see, though it was nothing she could go back and fix. What's done is done and there's no changing the past. All she could do was try to improve things between her and her best friend, and that's exactly what she was going to do. When the question of cravings came around a smile began to grow on her expression and spread like wild fire throughout her body, causing the girl to shift on her hooves and bashfully flick her tail about. "Well, you see... It's rather embarrassing but... I suppose I could tell you," she took a deep breath before revealing her humiliating craving. "Honey suckles. The flowers. Oh sure, they smelled like sweet honey but they were no buzzing hive of delicious goodness, let me reassure you of that. Still, it was what I hungered for and oh how good they tasted. Though, you'd never catch me nibbling on any of those petals again." She laughed lightly as her embarrassment died a signifigant amount before locking her eyes with Chandra's again. "Sonnet, I believe his name was? I think between you and your father he was the most loved stallion in all the lands," she giggled softly before nodding in her direction suggestively, "Tell me, he is the father, yes? How did he react to your pregnacy?" Chandra Chandra burst into laughted at Maisie's embrassment, not because she was mocking her friend but because she was actually delighted at the idea of a strange craving. "Honey suckle.... my mother used to crave water lillies." She smiled happily at her friend, her head stuck half in the past and half in the future. At the mention of Sonnets name her smile widened, "Sonnet.... my Sonnet." She blushed a little and looked to the ground as she collected her thoughts, "He went and found me a falling star before he asked me to become his lifemate... he was there while my father was kidnapped by Kalona's and I suppose us spending so much time together is the reason we are expecting so soon." She blushed a little at that. "He was... overwhelmed, happy.... and maybe a little scared." She chuckled.

Maisie There seemed to be a hint of relief in the air as Chandra explained that her very own mother had craved another species of plant to munch on while foals were growing inside of her. She wondered if Chandra was one of those foals. "Ah, gave your mother the craving for water lillies, hm? Shame on you," she teased with all the light heartedness she could muster up. It seemed that as soon as she spoke the vaugely familiar name Chandra lit up like the sun, having a glow about her that was clearly contageous. A look of understanding and happiness spread over Maisie's entire appearance and melted her very heart. "He sounds so romantic, Chandra. Oh, I am so happy for the two of you." She beamed before her eyes drifted lower, a bit hesitant at first but at last she locked her eyes on the slightly bulged belly of her friend. "Could I meet them?" she asked a tad bit nervous. There was an underlying fear that maybe her best friend would resent her for not having seeked her out during the pregnacy of her own boys. Maybe Chandra would want to get even, but then agian Maisie knew that the sweet girl wasn't like that. Still, those nagging insecurities conjured up such lies in her head. Chandra Chandra nodded, her mother and father had only had one set of foals, and she was the youngest of them. It was partially because of that that her father had gone a little crazy by the news, protective old man as always.... When Maisie spoke of meeting her family before turning away with the same insecurities Chandra and her father had seen when they had first encountered the mare she couldn't help but smile and n** her mane, "OF COURSE" She exclaimed, "It would be an honor for your to meet them.... and Sonnet.... and well.. everyone." She chuckled, nipping her mane again, "You big silly you."

Maisie As Maisie's knees trembled her heart was racing a hundred miles per hour just wondering what sort of answer she would get. She knew what she expected and yet it wasn't the same as what she wanted to hear. Sometimes the challanging mare was just a mess on the inside. It was something she couldn't control, though it was getting easier to cope with. Bracing for a let down, it was as though weight lifted off her shoulders when the purple winged beauty of a girl lifted her fears. "R-really?" a slight stutter occured, though that was only because Maisie was on the verge of tears. Something about families just pulled at her heart strings. There were times when Maisie would just cry from joy when she looked at her life now and what a mess it used to be. Something about solid traditional families made her heart swell. "This means a lot to me Chandra. I'd love to meet your knight in shining armor and of course your beautiful babies." She couldn't help but let the tears tumble and to cover her emotions she leaned in to rest her head on Chandra's shoulder, a sort of hug. Chandra Chandra smiled and pulled her friend closer by wrapping her chine around her neck and pulling her closer. "Yes," she said, "Of course I am!" Chandra wasn't one to lie, not even when she didn't want to tell the truth... she would rather just say she would rather not say anything. This was probably because her father would kill her if she lied.... but still, Chandra loved Maisie as another sister, and even if the timid mare didn't have faith in herself Chandra did. "They will love meeting you, I am sure." She said with a soft smile.

Maisie Just thinking of it now gave Maisie butterflies. Seeing her best friend's foals stumbling around the legs of her well grown boys would be adorable and hopefully give them lessons on how to treat children. The only thing that made her want to scratch her brain was how Raiden might react. Would she have to coax him into the idea or perhaps he'd be delighted? She hoped it was the second option that would come out when she popped the question. "We'll make a date then, gather our families, and have a wonderful time, dear. Oh, I can't wait for it, really, I can't." She giggled as the girl's stomach growled. "Oh, they are already so demanding," she giggled softly and nodded to the female. "Go and take care of that appetite of yours. I shall make sure to see you soon, Chandra. I promise," she gave a farewell nod and a quick nuzzle before taking a step back, allowing her friend to leave even though she knew she'd already be missing her. Maisie had forgotten how it felt to have another girl to talk to. Lately her life had been jammed packed with testosterone. Chandra Chandra smiled softly at Maisie and nodded, "Yes... I will come looking for you!" She beamed, meaning every word. Chandra would indeed seek Maisie out and bring her back to the herd to meet her children and arrange more. Her stomach growled again, "Yes... demanding..... like me I suppose, since their father is not demanding at all." She smiled, thinking about how Sonnetw ould bend over backwards if he could to make her happy, not because she was a diva and demanded everything but because he loved her and wanted to give her everything.... the moon in her hooves.
Chandra nodded to Maisie before heading off in search of food, her stomach growling more demanding by each passing moment... and Chandra knew... she wanted to give her children the world.
