WWFG returned from a commercial break to see Nuke Fusion standing in the ring, the crowd split as he stood there without his coveted Undisputed Championship. His eyes rested plainly upon the canvas at his feet, his mind seemingly distant as he removed the fan reactions from his head, not worrying at all about whether he was being cheered on, or if the usual jeers were emanating throughout the arena. He held a microphone loosely in his left hand, as his arm rested comfortably at his side. He was leant in to the ropes, his back against them to keep himself vertical, it would seem.
The crowd continued to pursue their mixed reactions, and it was odd that Nuke was just standing there. He was simply in a dimension of his own, completely oblivious to everything around him.
... ... ...
As if snapping out of a trance, Nuke suddenly pushed himself from the ropes, walking forward with quite a noticable limp in his leg, before lifting the microphone to his lips. Momentarily soaking in the mixed atmosphere, he chuckled.
"Can't quite decide whether you guys love or hate me, eh? Sounds like quite a dilemma. Okay, let's recap from Sunday night .. To be honest, it's not something that I particularly want to do, but it's something that needs to be done. You see, at Falling Summer, I fell. I fell fifteen feet in fact, all the way to the mat below my feet; oh, and just so you guys know, this is pure wood covered over by a thin sheet of material .. It hurts. Trust me.
But I lost the title not by my own doing, but by the actions of a man who only became involved to spite my opponent. That man goes by the name of a one Mike Landry."
Pausing to look around the arena, a chorus of cheers came flooding forwards, even at the slightest mention of his name. As much as Nuke was hated for what he had done in this company, Landry's past actions were even more-so hated; but he had completely rectified his past in the company, and each and every fan in the arena seemed to adore the man with heart and soul.
"In all honest, I respect the man, and I know that his reasons for interfering were not to target me specifically, but rather my opponent. He is a man of integrity and technical prowess .."
A nother big round of cheers were forwarded towards the ring, emanating from the crowd.
"But he showed absolutely no remorse for his actions that night, and that's what has gotten to me. Although he didn't mean to, he not only cost me my Undisputed Championship, but he also had me drop fifteen feet on to reinforced wood, ending with myself and my opponent both being taken out on stretchers.
Whatever his problem is with Chrono, it should have stayed between them, and he shouldn't have tried to sabotage the match, no matter how much he hates the new Undisputed Champion."
Pausing once more, this time to reach down and rub the side of his knee, he walked backwards to a turnbuckle and used it as support to stand upright.
"He wasn't the only person to get on the wrong side of me at Falling Summer, actually. One other man was someone who now - for some odd reason - calls himself 'The Janitor' of the company. Obviously, this master of gimmicks has gotten to an age where he has gone senile; I mean he's been around hogging the spotlight for long enough, that the rays must have gotten to his head.
There was always something odd about Jed, but perhaps that's just the abnormality of a man who has next to no talent being given main event status that many times over? I mean, who really thinks that this guys is relevant any more?"
Before the crowd could react, Nuke was ready to speak again. However, some 'Jed' chants shot off around the arena, which caused Nuke some aggravation as he was willing and ready to rant on.
"So, I came out during a company-wide promo spot at Falling Summer, and I spoke my mind truthfully; to be fair, each of those guys could take something from what I said, and use it to better themselves. I mean, they need all the help they can get, because at the moment they're all rather dead wood within the roster.
Some just sat back and took it, as they should, being no where near my talent range; but Jed stepped forward. He lunged at both myself and my protector, Chrono, and had to be stopped by security. He was ape-s**t crazy, bat-s**t crazy, and every kind of 's**t' you want to incorporate with Jed, because that's exactly what he is.
He needs to realise that he's past it now, his expiry date ran out a long time ago, and there's nothing left for him here; even in management there are question marks above his head, such as throwing together two heels in to the Main Event of a Pay-Per-View. I mean, who does that? Nobody in the right mind, that's who.
Jed knows that without me, they wouldn't have any more than two main event material superstars, and yet he was probably the one to send out Landry and screw me over and ruin my title reign."
Trying to calm himself, he looked down at the canvas again, then at his leg.
"My real reason to come out tonight was to tell you guys that I won't be competing tonight, due to the injuries sustained on Sunday. Seems to me like management have made the right decision by leaving me off the match card, but what they didn't count on is that I won't be silenced.
I was advised by the physio not to compete tonight, but he said that if I rested up well enough, I'd be fit for action at the next event. That means that I'm going to be coming out to kick some a**, and whoever gets in my way is in for a beating. It doesn't matter if you're lower card or main event, I promise you that if you piss me off then I'm coming for you ..
