So, it was finally official. She was now a member of the Stormborn, a Freeborn as she had learned. The woods would still be a place of regular visitations, but there was much exploring and learning to be done. Not right now though. Now her goal was to track down those that she had come for in the first place. She hoped that she hadn't missed too much, but even if they had shot up like weeds after a rain, seeing them again, finding out what they had been up to and what they learned would allow her to breathe easy again, knowing that she was once more a part of their lives and watch them grow into the adults they were meant to be. Well, it was an exciting prospect for her as their aunt, anyway.
Their scents, their voice, and their coats remained clear in her mind, which made the task of finding them in this new place less of a worry. There was a plan in her mind, a jumping off point, if you will. Iseq's plan was to keep to the lesser trodden paths to see if she would be able to single out and pick up any of their traces. Depending on her luck, she would either keep scouring the out of the way trails or move into more popular places. In her mind, there was no doubt that she would be successful in her endeavor.
Fortunately for the lioness, there was no time or reason for doubt to gain a foothold within her mind. A faint and wholly familiar scent came to her attention. Her expression remained neutrally determined as she followed along, but, if any were to be close enough to see her face, there was a distinct light in her eyes as she pressed on. Never one to keep to a straight path if she could help it, Iseq weaved back and forth along the scent trail or even walking along parallel to it, never far enough to not lose it. It was one of her nieces, of that she was certain, and the closer she grew the more certainty she gained that it was one in particular, Ember.
Perhaps she could surprise her. Of course, it all depended which direction Ember was facing, the way the wind blew, and a few other factors. No matter. It would be good to see her niece with the ashen coat and fiery head and tail tufts. She was close now...
