Odette hummed quietly to herself as she walked down the mostly lit street. She had been at the library, trying to research more on the crusades. After she had picked the one book up during her successful mission of delivering Merric that figurine, she had found that that era of history actually was interesting.
Who knew?
She passed a darkened storefront, and gave a slight shiver.
Huh. Maybe she should have left a little earlier from the library…after the attack by that…monster thing, Odette had been very hesitant to walk around the city at night.
Nothing really felt safe anymore.
Oh well. She was almost home, just a few more blocks to go. She could do it. No doubt about that. Besides, lightning only strikes the same place once, right?
Right. She had absolutely nothing to worry about.
There was absolutely no chance at all that anything else could happen to her.

Of course, nothing could ever go wrong.
Fluorite looked at the young girl from her perch on top of one street lamp. Was it what they always thought ? How did they justify purposely putting themselves at risk like this ?
It always happened to other people ?
Ha.
Fluorite jumped, from one steetlamp to the next. There were a bunch of alleys closebys... All she had to do was wait for the girl to pass one and drag her inside.
Easy as pie.

It just so happened that Odette ducked down one of these alleyways, humming to herself and quickening her pace.
Sure, there were no street lights, but she had been down this street dozens and dozens of times, it cut off about four blocks between herself and home.
She was so close now.
Nothing had happened.
The girl laughed out loud, seeming relieved, and amused. There had never been anything to fear.

There was a soft thud right behind her.
An hand reached out to catch her shoulder, then quickly dragged her back - into the alleys, into the shadows, into the darkness.
Darkness was Captain Fluorite's friend.
"I wouldn't be laughing, if I was you..." She whispered, teasingly, into the girl's ear, her free hand moving to start draining while the other gripped on tighter in preparation of the girl's inevitable struggle.

The brunette froze, what the hell?
The whisper sent a shiver up Odette's spine and she blinked.
Was this a robber?
As the hand tightened on her, it seemed to be only then that the urge to break free set in.
"W-who....what are you doing?"
She wriggled as much as she could, mind still drawing a blank.
"I don't have any money! Let me go! All I have is my library card..."

"Oh, don't worry." She laughed. "Money is the last thing i need... or want, really."
This was unusual. If Odette had gotten a good look, she would have seen that this girl was well... tiny. Certainly looking nowhere near strong enough to be able to hold her in her grasp so easily.
Something was amiss... Beyond the obvious. Even now, Fluorite was starting to drain her energy - slowly. She saw no reason to rush.

Didn't want money? What kind of a robber was this?
Again she tried to break away.
"W-well...what is it that you want? I...I'm sure that we can work something out?"
Ah Odette. Always hopeful. Trying to see the bright side of such a...dark situation.
Something felt strange, though the girl couldn't put her finger on it. She blinked. "What...are you doing?"
It still hadn't occurred to the girl to cry out for help.
Nope. Why would she do something so practical?

Suddenly, without warning... Fluorite would have found a set of claws attached to her. Chloe looked for the....fleshiest bits she could have. The negaverser had quite a bit of cloth, leather, and armor, but she really could not be picky. So? She settled for latching on to the girls arm where her wraps were. Claws in front, and back claws kicking, she screeched out through clenched teeth around the arm as well...
"Mmmwet mer gho!"

OW WHAT THE ******** was utterly and completely involuntary, but Fluorite did let Odette go - if only because of the surprise pain. That was the chance for the girl to run off !
"God damnit let me go ! ******** CAT !" Shake. Shakeshakeshake. When that didn't work, the captain tried to slam against the wall.
"Let me go or I will dig out your starseed and make you ******** EAT IT."

Odette jerked away from Fluorite, staring at the sight before her for a minute. A cat just saved her? What a smart cat! She hesitated, the purple haired…evil b***h was slamming the poor kitty against the wall now! No! That wasn’t fair…the kitty tried to save her! That cat didn’t deserve that!
The brunette looked around, then darted away, coming back a moment later, holding two trash can lids. “Hey! Leave the cat alone!”
She wasn’t sure how trash can lids would help…but…she hoped they would do something! Maybe she could smash them into the purple haired girl’s face…Yeah. Like giant…smelly cymbals!
