It had only been a few days since Ameria had received her acceptance letter. Oh, the pride and joy she held inside of her beamed continually. Her life was now housed inside of a dorm at Makai Academy but, of course, Ameria made time to see her folks on days when she had no school and that was exactly what she was doing. Today held a busy schedule of helping her parents gather their caught fish, sort them out, and then take them to the stall they owned in town. Her clothes today were mere overalls, water boots, and a scarf tied about her head to keep her hair from getting in the way.

Ameria's tanned hands sorted out the fish by species into various ice-filled baskets as her parents hauled in the day's catches from their cart to an area shielded from the public. Customer after customer had come up to her and chatted with her casually as they bought and browsed the fish.

It seemed as if the day was going to go by smoothly with no kinks in it. Ameria smiled to herself as she continued to sort the fish with that thought in her head.

Kalypso couldn't believe she was out in the world on her own. Attending a very prestigous school. Makai Academy didn't look so bad a school after all. Kalypso had been dreading the whole the thing, from when she revceived her acceptance letter up to the time she moved in her dorm. The one major good factor in the whole thing was that she didn't have to share a room with a roomate, the whole room was for her and her alone.

After had locked herself in her dorm she thought about going on a little sightseeing. "I guess I could go and check out the market place." She eventually made her way to a fish stall. She was feeling a little hungry from all the looking around. She saw a girl with black and blue hair sorting out the fish. "Excuse me miss, but do you also prepare the fish or do I have to bring it home with me to cook.?" She asked the girl who was sorting out the fish.

Ameria looked up as soon as she heard foot steps nearing the stall. Another customer, perhaps? That's when her cyan eyes laid on a silver haired girl with an eye patch. Immediately she felt a small pang for the girl. The depth perception problems she must be facing because of it. She wondered how and why it was even there. The question from the girl snapped her out of her train of thoughts. A weak and apologetic smile crossed Ameria's lips.

"I'm sorry but no. We only sell the fish. I-if you want, I could cook something that you buy, though.... We have a grill in back for our own lunch time." she said in her usual quiet voice. She gestured a hand to the small tent ,where her two parents emerged from.

"Mom, dad, if it's alright I'd love to cook for this girl if she buys something." The two looked at each other a bit surprised then at the girl. Her father shrugged his shoulders and her mother nodded.

"Well, sure I guess, as long as she buys something." spoke the heavily tanned man. Ameria's mother smiled at her.

"Any fish in particular, miss?"

Kalypso blew out the breath that she was holding in relief. Usually when people see her the first thing they see and comment on was the eye patch. She didn't like to go into detail of what happened to her eye. She subconsciously touched the eye patch, then drew her hand away and she realized what she was doing. She looked around at the fish stall and then at the girls parents. She thought it was sweet how this family could work together and still be a happy family.

She remember working with her family when she little on their business. She shook her head at the the memories and looked around at the fish. "I don't know much about fish, which would you recommand? I'm Kalypso by the way." She looked at the tent where the girls parents had emerged from. "I wouldn't mind as long as it won't be a bother to you or your parents."

Ameria shook her head in response to the girl and then smiled softly.

"It's not a bother to us. And since you don't have any choice in particular, I suggest the salmon. It's a good mood relaxer." she said as her hands gestured towards a small basket of about ten fish. Her parents smiled and began to take care of their own customers as Ameria pulled out three fish. One of them she wrapped up and the other two she put inside an empty ice-filled basket. She then took a pencil and a pad of receipts. She wrote down the purchase and even gave Kalypso a large discount than what was advertised on the signs.

"I'm Ameria, by the way. Nice to meet you." she said with a smile as she ripped off the receipt and handed it to Kalypso. She put the wrapped up salmon into the basket along with the other two fish and awaited the payment to be handed.

User ImageAs the night went away for the day, Aquene started to jump from shadow to shadow; she hated how the heat touched her skin and hated even more how dark it made her in the long run. It irritated her to no tomorrow to think about being dark-skinned and, to her, ugly. She sighed as she continued moving, looking for... Something to do for the day.

Earlier in the day, she had been practicing controlling her powers and gaining strength so her powers could grow. She was bored, tired, and hungry. She eventually saw a group of people walking around some fresh produce stands, and since there was enough shade, Aquene decided that she would go there next.

There were rows and rows of fruits that people were selling, each one still cold and crisp from their storage truck. The flowers were in full bloom and color in the flower booths. Every smell was lurking into Aquene's nose and she was enjoying every moment, getting hungrier little by little. Suddenly, she caught a whiff of something... foul. Looking around, she saw that it was fish... And pin-girl.

Walking over, she brought her hand over a fish and froze it, hoping to conceal some of the fish smell."I didn't know you sold... fish...". Aquene looked... Just slightly grossed out.

User Image"Ah! A new day!""

Lilith raised her arms above her head, stretching them and enjoying the feeling of the sun's warmth against her increasing muscles. She had been practicing a lot of fencing recently, so she could fight someone if she needed to. Her sword now hung by her side on a small belt that was around her waist. Her father was proud to see his daughter carrying around a weapon, but Lilith knew that she would only use it in truly desperate measures.

Since she had been working so hard practicing and improving, Lilith had decided it would be her day out. Well, sort of. She thought that since the fresh produce were out in the markets today, she'd go buy some thing sfor her father, whether she liked it or not. "Hm... Fresh fruits... Flowers as a gift? Oh!" Lilith sniffed the air a few times and saw a quaint fish stand that seemed to be decently busy. "Maybe I'll cook Papa some fish tonight!"

She walked over and gave each of the people around it a smile. She noticed two witchlings and someone else... That made her somewhat uneasy. As she left her right hand near left hand near her rapier, she spoke to the blue and black haired girl that seemed to be running the stand. "Hi there, Miss Witchling," she greeted and then turned her head. "And fellow customers!"

Glancing over the fish, she saw that the one near the browned haired girl was more frozen then most. "Must be what her skill is..." Lilith was definitely on guard, but she looked back at the blue and black haired girl. "Do you have any fresh Halibut?"

Kalypso paid for the fish just as some other customers were coming. She glance behind her and tense. There was two girls, one with brown here and the other with black hair. The one with black hair looked nice enough but it was the one with brown hair that made Kalypso uneased for some reason.

"Umm I don't think you will be able to cook the fish you have many more customers and I don't want to be a bother to you."

Kalypso nervously shifted on her feet. She took another quick glance behind her at the brown haired girl who was looking grossed out by all the fish.

Ameria smiled warmly at Kalypso even as new customers were coming along.

"No no, don't worry. Mom and Dad can handle them. Oh? Oh, hello miss. Halibut....? Hm..... You'll have to check with my dad. I'm not sure we have any today, honestly...." Ameria tapped her chin thoughtfully and adjusted her overalls a bit. Her thoughts about the current fish inventory were interrupted by a familiar voice. Curious, Ameria looked in the direction the voice came from and smiled widely.

"Oh, it's you! Um... what was your name again...? Um.... Oh! Aqueen! Right? Hello! Good to see you again!" She was completely oblivious to the freezing action Aquene's hand was doing and took it with her own fish smell covered hands, the smile still plastered to her face.

"Yes yes, I sell fish with my family! What brings you all the way down to Clarus?" she asked not letting go of Aquene's hand. "Why don't you join me and Kalypso for some lunch? I make a pretty good grilled salmon!"

Not wanting the young black haired girl to go ignored, Ameria's dad kindly walked over.

"Hello, miss. You were looking for Halibut, right? Well you're just in luck! We have five of them today! How many would you like?"
