To the Guild:
As many of you already know, we are having an issue with a spammer. One of the mods is currently helping to clean up the guild, of which I greatly appreciate. Unfortunately, since I am only crew and not captain my hands are rather tied, otherwise I would make the guild private so this does not happen again. But in the mean time, I will do what I can. I hope this does not deter people from posting.
Thank you for your patience, Underworld Priestess

Thanks to the mod who helped clean the Guild up, we are now Private!
Most of the spam post should be gone now, so hopefully things can get back to normal.

I've only seen 2 of his posts. One in my own thread about respect and then in an old tread asking for a Wiccan HPS. I don't think 2 posts counts as a real problem.
What I'm more concerned about it how he got in here in the first place. We're a private guild, people can't just come in and post whatever they like whenever they like, like in the public guilds I'm a member of. People have to apply for membership and be approved before they can post here. I'm curious as to who approved him and why.

At the time of the spam posting, the guild was public. Priestess only just changed it to private. ^^

Priestess can't change it, only guild leader has that power. Though the mod I talked to might have, or the one she talked to could have as well.

Yes, the mod changed it for me since I couldn't. The person was never a member, they got in because it was public before.

Free lesson from an ex troll. Here's how you slip into a guild that requires membership. Find a guild that doesn't do anything about inactive members. Not too hard. Make a mule. Wait. No one knows your mule even exists? Good. Now's your chance to troll. They'll never see you coming.
... It also means you have way too much time on your hands. And you should put your efforts towards better things on the internet.
Point being. That's possibly how the troll got in. And, that's how trolls can slip past membership requirements. Blend in.

Well, this is pretty old news, and when the spammer was...spamming, the guild was public. A moderator was contacted in order to make it private to get it to stop.
