TRANSFIGURATION!
At hogwarts: Transfiguration is essentially the art of changing the properties of an object. Transfiguration is a theory-based subject, including topics such as "Switching Spells" (altering only a part of some object, such as giving a human rabbit's ears); Vanishing Spells (causing an object to completely disappear); and Conjuring Spells (creating objects out of thin air).It is possible to change inanimate objects into animate ones and vice versa — McGonagall transfigures her desk into a pig and back in Philosopher's Stone.

 Read Carefully!Class Rulesxxxxxxxx✩o1. All rules in the castle are very important in every part of the castle. This includes my classroom, so please respect the rules that the headmistress sets for you, as they are very critical.✩o2. In here, unless the headmistress is in the room, you listen to me. If I have told another teacher to watch the classroom, you may most certainly listen to them as well, but I would appreciate if you only listened to me, and not another student. ✩o3. On that note, please be respectful to all other students in the room. If you disagree with something another witch or wizard is doing, bring it to me, and do not start a conflict in the classroom. Accidents can happen, and that is not something we want to occur.✩o4. If an accident does occur in my classroom, please come forward, and we will get it situated right away.✩o5. Do not, under any circumstance, use your wand or magical ability without being told to do so. Do not do a spell or any other magical incantation unless you are instructed by me to do so.✩o6. Please take this class seriously. Many horrible things can happen if a spell is done while goofing off. Concentration is very key in doing a spell right.✩o7. Although magic is very serious, remember that I am your friend, and I am going to try to make this class as interesting and as fun as possible. This means that there will be no need for practical jokes in the class. But, do remember that I am trying my hardest to make this class as good as it can be. ✩o8. I myself am only 17, so I would prefer to keep it fairly clean. Romance is fine, violence is fine, but nothing too obscene please, and keep anything cyber-like away from Gaia in general. ✩o5. Have fun. That's a requirement. If you're not having fun, it's most likely that someone else isn't having fun as well. So, just remember that you need to have fun. Make your posts fun and interesting. Keep to your character, but don't post one liners, and then expect someone to post two paragraphs. xxxxYour assignment here is to partner up with someone in your age group and interview them. Please do not partner up with someone more than two years older or younger than you. I can easily figure out who is who in here.
Your assignment is to find the answers to the questions found in the assignment area from your partner, and to then use the mailing spell you were taught last year and send the letter to me. Feel free to use the decorating spell as well, and you may recieve house points for doing so. (For first years or new students, you may just submit your assignment to me in person [[Meaning PM me! Do not post the assignment here once you have all the answers!]] since you do not know the spells.)
This is just an introduction lesson and assignment, and next week, we will get into a more indepth study of Transfiguration as the year goes on. I just want you to get to know someone a little better, and to make this new year transition to be a little easier.

 Spells!When we go along, each new spell that we learn is going to go here. I will also put the spells we learned from last year in here, just so we have a base to look at. New students, please refrain from using these spells until you have been told you are ready to do so. We will go over these spells in tests and whatnot, and they will be very important to you to study up on.The New SpellsxxxxxxxNone currently. We will start learning them soon though! The Old Spellsxxxxxxx✩o1.Piertotum Locomotor: Used to Animate an object such as dolls and action figures. It is usually used to animate objects such as statues and suits of armor, but can be used on smaller objects as well. ✩o2. Colovaria: A spell used to transfigure the color of any object. This can be used for any reason to change the color of something. Very useful for changing hair color and for disguising an object. With this spell, the smaller the object, the easier to transfigure. Also, the thinner, the easier. A creature would be very difficult to transfigure, and a human body part is the most strenuous. It is easier to transfigure an object into a lighter color than a darker color, as it is easier to shade something dark on a piece of paper than to shade something light on a piece of paper.✩o3. Ritorno: Returns a transfiguration back to its original state. It is very useful if a mistake is made, but can only be used for small transfiguration spells, such as Colorvaria or Piertotum Locomotor. Other spells such as the transfiguring of a human to an animal will not change the person back, rather it will be left in some sort of half-state. Also, if an object has been transfigured too long, it will not transfigure back without the actual counter-spell. Just think of this spell as the 'master key', which unlocks all the doors it is made for. A master key will not unlock all doors.✩o4. Foldora: Simply put, it is a spell used to fold objects. Now, it can be used to transfigure a piece of parchment into a shape of your choosing, but it can also be put to good use around the house with folding objects such as sheets or blankets, and laundry. This spell can not 'Fold a person' in half. It can only be used on Inanimate objects of sorts.✩o1. Decorare: A spell used to decorate small objects of your choice. Very simple to use. All you have to do is visualize the object how you want it to look, say the spell, and it will look how you imagined it.✩o5. Posta: A spell used to mail a letter to someone. It can only be used in short distances. The maximum it can travel is 20 miles. To use this spell on a letter, you would say Posta, and then you would say the persons name you would want it to travel to.  Grades!So once I have some students in here, you will see what the grades will look like. Depending on the unit and assignments, certain items will be weighted more. I will try to give you an average at the end of the year. There will be extra credit assignments to watch for on this board, so keep your eyes out for them.

 ▆▆▆▆ ▆▆▆▆ ▆▆▆▆ ▆▆▆▆ ▆▆▆▆ ▆▆▆▆ ▆▆▆▆ ▆▆▆▆ ▆▆▆▆ Professor Soul-Heart was sitting at her desk, very carefully looking at old assignments from last year. She had a rough year with picking suitable lessons last year, and although her first lesson this year seemed so childish, she wouldn't let herself choose assignments that were small. She needed to prepare these students for their newt's and final test exams. This year was going to be a little more vigorous for her students, and she knew that she couldn't have let them down.
Scanning everything she had done, the teacher ran her fingers through her hair. She hadn't cut her hair for a year now, and it had grown out from her original bob style hair cut. But, she liked it. It suited her. Becoming frustrated, she began to pull on her hair gently, feeling the strain her hair had when she had a bunch of hair gathered in her hand. This just wasn't worth the stress it was putting on her. She sat up and waved her wand, watching the papers disappear from her desk and float into the open drawer on her right side. The drawer closed, and she leaned back into her plush green chair she was sitting in, taking a few deep breaths to relieve her stress. She would make this year good, she knew it. All of the teachers in the school were so new, and she remembered teaching a few of them from last year, and she also remembered being years above them as a student herself. She may have been three to four years above them, so it was hard to put her finger on which student they were. Nonetheless, she remembered them.
It was time for the students to start coming in a few minutes later, so she waved her hand, and the door opened. She had become so good at normal spells that they came so naturally to her. Her wand only made her stronger. Hopefully students wouldn't be so frightened or act too stubborn to go to class. She would have to do something about that if they were too afraid to join her. Did she really look that scary? She hoped not.

Drago walked into class, still shaken up from how far his dark thoughts have gone. He didn't even notice the teacher at her desk and sat down at the back of the class room, shakily.
