Through the emptiness of space, past the ancient burning stars, through primordial fields of asteroids, only the bravest of the brave may tread. Outside of the Astral Shipping Paths, the pirates of the worlds hunt, sleeking through the dangerous areas of space like hunting beasts in their dark painted ships and illegal cloaking shields. They seek out the treasures of others, the food, the drink, the money...the women. All but one ship, who hunts....
For Paradise.
They do not know they hunt for Paradise, for the very entrance to a heavenly world that would make their dreams come true. The crew of this elite pirate ship have been lied to by the very one that they trusted to lead them to riches and glory, women and wine. The captain, known only as Rosso Fantasma, has told them she can make their dreams come true.
But her dreams have always come first.
Who are the members of her crew, and what worlds do they visit? Do they find treasure, infamy? Or will they find out their captains secret and form a mutiny? Do they simply agree that this Paradise is worth finding and join her quest willingly?
You decide.

If you haven't noticed by now, this is a recruiting thread for The Door to Paradise: a group roleplay based in space, far in the future. I seek the literate, the skilled and the willing to create a great, long lasting story that will entertain both me, you, and those that choose to read along. But there are laws here, just as with any civilization or world. One: There is only one God-Like power in this story, (technically two, if you count the mods) and that's me, the narrator of the tale, the omniscient teller of tales that will, if you misbehave, take your characters and drop them off the side of the ship like the scurvy villains they are! So, no god-modding (all powerful characters, controlling another character that is not yours, insta-hits, etc) Two: The Killing of other characters, without permission from their owner, is strictly prohibited! I don't mind slaughter, gore, destruction....but without the knowledge of the owner, killing off a character is a big no-no! Three: Limitations? Only a few. Now, we must keep it...Hm, lets say PG-13. Romance? That's just fine. Cybering? NO. Don't do it! Blood, gore, etc....all that is just fine here. Foul language? Come on, we're going to be PIRATES. Cuss, spit, scream! Just don't, you know, piss the captain off. That's bad form, gents and ladies! I can and will add more rules if I think them up, or if someone is just horrible enough that I have to create a whole new rule in order to keep them in line. As the Narrator, I have that right, please-thanks! Otherwise, just obey the mods.

Each person that wishes to join this strange crew can have up to three characters. I limit it this way for now, but if we think we need more, then I shall rearrange it to help out those that wish for it. The crew can be more than just human! It can be any species of alien, creature or being that you want. Half-animal, centaurian, energy beings, insectoid, winged, etc....Its up to you! As for powers/abilities/talents.... If you cannot EXPLAIN it via science/biology/physics....Then it cannot be used! No magical bursts of acid from the sky or changing a rock into water, etc. Be reasonable, okay? Just because we're doing science fiction, doesn't mean you get to loose all semblance of intelligence over this. If you wish to join the Crew, send me a PM (Title it as Space Pirates) with the following information! I shall create a second forum the moment I have enough characters to start the game with all of it on display for the others who join. I'll put the links to that, as well as the main Roleplaying forum, here. Name:
Race:
Sex:
Age:
Height:
Weight:
Appearance: (Picture or Description)
Specialty: (Long Range, Short Range, Hand-to-Hand, etc. It can be anything, not just that. It can refer to computers, food, etc...) Personality:
Short Bio: (About two paragraphs at the least)

Other Information That Just Might Be Useful! The Sangue Nave: A huge, older model battle ship that has been converted into a machine meant for creeping up on the target via cloaking shields before coming to life to attack the unwary ships. Known as an OSHSD model---- Outer-System Heavy Support Dreadnaught. What's In Here?Bow: The first ten feet of the ship is nothing but thick steel, a battering ram to destroy the enemy ships ability to flee or attackOff The Port Bow & Starboard Bow: Storage rooms and air locks for the disposal of garbage...or other scum.Port Side: Bedrooms span the left side of the hall way, from bow to sternStarboard Side: There are three doors along the Starboard side hallway. The first is the kitchens, a large and mostly clean area where food and drink is stored. The second room is a large open space with a single table taking up the middle of the room, lots of maps and plans are scattered across it. The last room is little more than a gathering place where crew members gamble, talk and contest against one another for fun. Off The Port Quarter: The only room located here is the Captain's Quarters, and no one is allowed in without the permission of Captain Rosso Fantasma. A death threat is issued to every new member of the crew, should they even consider entering her chambers. Off the Starboard Quarter: A staircase leading to an upper floor, where the Control Room is found. Huge panels span the room, a Captain's chair in the middle of it all, three other chairs located in three central areas of the monitor-keyboard areas. Aft: A large garage type area is located here, where the five small single-man cruisers are located. The small white ships are mean to distract the enemy, to destroy defenses and are able to slip by the sensors the Sangue Nave cannot. They are known as LCF's---Light Cruise Fighters The Law Around These Parts: The crew, and any other pirate ship, are going to hunted by the Intergalactic Civil Control, a police force dedicated to protecting those that live off world, usually in small asteroid colonies or on small moons, as well as those that traverse the Trade-Ways between the worlds. They usually travel in small fighter ships, three or four to a group, and light-speed warp from area to area. They can, and often do, call in new-model Dreadnaughts to fight off the larger pirate ships that are sometimes found creeping through deep space.
