Six nodded at both Tabitha's thoughts on the bandits and Sunshine's assertion that she would see the bandits before the others. He couldn't be sure, but he figured she had an occular implant by the way she looked through only one eye as they rode toward the ridge. "Just let us know when you see them. Hopefully we can catch them off gaurd as they run away."

Looking at the girl with the Kirin on her back he then said "The bandits most likely have an escape route they picked out ahead of time. It probably has plenty of cover in case they get into a firefight, either that or they've rigged an explosive or two. But I'm afraid I didn't catch your name at the motel. It seems rude to simply call you 'sniper girl,' so what should we call you?"

Riding on Walker’s more than trustworthy back, Sunshine focused on the ridge in front of them. Her right eye scanned methodically; she didn’t want to miss them because she was trying to rush. Sunshine heard Six talking to the other woman, asking for her name. Casting Six a sideways glance she couldn’t help but role her eyes…. Eye? This was hardly the time for pleasantries as they rode into an obvious battle and / or trap. ‘Men.’ Sunshine thought with a sigh.

Refocusing and casting her thermal vision back to the ridge, she spotted them almost instantly. Slowing Walker, and expecting the others to do the same, she zeroed in on them. Three people were moving about, and she announced this to the others in a commanding tone of sorts, “There are three, moving around. I am not sure what they are doing exactly.”

Holding her Broken Justice in hand, she inquired to Six, completely serious as she spoke, “What do you think we should do? I’ve never taken hostages before.”

As Sunshine slowed her horse to a stop Six did the same. "Alright. Well Sniper Girl here can shoot one of them now while we have a chance. After that," Six said while holstering his Titan, "I'll sneak around behind them while you two lay down suppressing fire on whatever position they decide to hide at. Just make sure not to hit them in the head before I get there."

Once Six informed them of the plan he dismounted Diablo and unsheathed his claws while taking out his Boneshredder. Nodding to the girls he ran off to the left, melding with the shadows and moving toward the bandits.

With Sunshine's claim that she'd see the bandits before either Six or Tabitha herself, Tabitha gave Sunshine a wary look. It seemed like a bold thing to say, until she saw the weird thing Sunshine was doing with her eyes. So, some kind of ocular implant. Excellent. One or two of her vigilante comrades had something of the same, and without a doubt, their enhanced vision made them invaluable on missions. She could well respect anyone willing to put up with that operation, both for the dedication and pain involved and for the advantage they gained.

What Six had to say about the bandits likely having cover planned for their escape made sense, of course. They'd have to be careful if it came to a drawn-out pursuit, since the bandits could leave any number of nasty surprises behind. However, if they could catch the bandits off guard, and get 'em quickly... My name? Tabitha raised an eyebrow at Six, not understanding how that had anything to do with the current situation, and it briefly distracted her from her original train of thought. Anyone who knew my name is now either dead or soon will be. I could be anyone or no one at all.

In any case, when Sunshine slowed her horse, Tabitha did the same, figuring that the mercenary had finally spotted the bandits. That meant it was time to get down to serious business. "Call me whatever you want," she said evenly as she unslung her Kirin and held it up as if to shoot. She was really looking through the rifle's scope, training it in the direction Sunshine was looking. She wanted to find the bandits for herself.

A small smirk tugged at her lips when Sunshine said she'd never taken hostages before. Doesn't surprise me. Her mood only improved when Six spelled out his plan. Even if 'sniper girl' had only been used because of the gun she carried, she'd at least get to show Six and Sunshine that she knew how to use it. This was what she did, and why she had the gun in the first place.

As Six slipped off into the shadows, Tabitha continued to look through the Kirin's scope, not even bothering to dismount from Dawn's back. The mare remained calmly still; horse and rider had done this many times before. "Which one, which one," she said softly in a sing-song fashion once she found the bandits. One of the men had some sort of submachine gun, although it was hard to tell what kind it was from her angle. Seemed like the ideal target of the three though, and with the slightest hint of a vengeful smile, she pulled the trigger. Even with the suppressor, the bandits would probably hear the shot, but not until it was too late.

"One down..." Her target slumped to the ground and his companions began to panic. "Two more to go. Ready, Sunshine?" She watched through the scope as the two remaining bandits ran for cover behind a large rock. It would protect them from any attacks from Tabitha and Sunshine's direction, but it wouldn't be enough to protect them from Six when he slid around the other side of it. Shifting the Kirin so that she held it solely in her left hand, Tabitha used her right hand to un-holster her Kraken repeater pistol from its place on her right hip. She didn't need hands to tell Dawn where to move, and they were already about as close as they needed to be anyway.

Sunshine

Sunshine felt Walker’s tension through his reins and in his saddle as he pawed the earth. He wanted to charge into battle, and she knew it, but she also knew that Walker would not move an inch forward without her permission. Hearing the woman’s question, Sunshine did not even turn to face her as she responded expressionlessly, “Yes I am.”

Keeping her thermal eye trained on the rock the two other bandits were hiding behind, Sunshine raised her Broken Justice and took aim. Seeing a flash of red peeking out behind the darker blue rocks, Sunshine took a shot; aiming for the ground right next to it. She didn’t bother using the sight on her gun, she wasn’t aiming to kill. ‘No, instead of killing them, I am keeping the little sheep herded in a corner for the wolf to slaughter them.’ Sunshine thought with an unnoticeable smirk.

Looking over at the other woman briefly, Sunshine addressed her in her usual tone, “I have a severely limited amount of shots compared to you, Anomino. So have at it, and I will crop in the closer warning shots.”

She hated to admit it, but unless she wanted to blow up the entire ridge with the Exploding Death, Sunshine was incredibly useless. Frowning to herself, she thought, ‘I don’t like this ‘hostage’ s**t.’

As Six crept through the shadows he heard the quiet sound of Sniper girl's suppressed sniper rifle and then the much louder sound of Sunshine's repeater being shot at a rock outcropping. "So, there you are." he thought to himself as he began to move silently toward the rock and the bandits hiding behind it. As he got closer he began to hear the unmistakable sound of a second repeater pistol being fired as well. "That must be sniper girl's." he thought to himself. By this point he was behind and to the right of the bandits, one of whom was shooting at the women with an assault rifle from over the side of the rock while the other one waited with his repeater pistol unholstered and his shotgun on his back.

As the second bandit began firing over the rock as well, Six made his move. He quickly dashed forward, stabbing the blades on his left hand into the back of the head of the bandit with the assault rifle and swinging his Boneshredder at the other's neck just as he began to turn around. Scratch that, just as SHE began to turn around. The last bandit left was a woman. Six stopped the swing as it got close enough to almost touch the bandit's neck and she stopped in her tracks. "Drop the gun, now." Six said in a cold voice as he removed his claws from the cranial cavity of the first bandit, who slid off the rock and fell to the ground, with a slight slurping sound. The one with the repeater hadn't fully turned the gun on Six yet, but he could see the gears working behind the woman's eyes. He knew that she was thinking "Why isn't he killing me?" and as soon as she came to the obvious answer Six saw her eyes widen and she moved the gun to aim at Six.

Luckily, Six was faster. He resheathed the claws on his gauntlet and grabbed the woman's wrist before she could line up the shot. The woman pulled the trigger anyway, shooting past Six into the night. Until Six squeezed his hand that is. Then the shooting stopped and the gun dropped to the ground as the woman's wrist was broken with an audible cracking and popping noise. The sound of bullets was replaced by the sound of the pained woman's screams. Just in case they weren't enough of a signal that Six had caught the bandit, he raised his Boneshredder in the air and turned the saw blade on. The whirring sound could be heard even over the woman's screams.

Once the bullets stopped flying Six brought the bandit over to the others, pulling her along behind him. "Sunshine, your horse is the biggest. Mind taking the bandit for a ride?" he asked before turning to Sniper girl. "And I'd like to call you an ally, I call my allies by their names." he said with a smile before mounting Diablo once more.

Tabitha Cardell

Tabitha nodded as Sunshine informed her that she had a limited number of shots. That was fine as long as Sunshine could keep things covered while Tabitha herself switched cartridges, which she had to do soon after beginning the suppressor fire. Both her guns could fire about as quickly as she could pull the triggers, and she'd had a fair amount of practice with that.

Tabitha just hoped that she didn't accidentally hit Six in the chaos. The bandits were a little easier to find now, since their guns gave off small flashes as they returned fire, but with Six wearing black in the black of night against the black landscape... There could be problems. This was one of those moments where Tabitha wished she'd gone with an ocular implant instead of what she ended up with since either night vision or thermal vision would be a lot more helpful about now.

It didn't even occur to her to be afraid of getting hit by the bandits at this point. They were shooting wildly into the night, unable to really aim any of their shots thanks to hers and Sunshine's efforts. Of course, there was still the chance of getting hit, but luckily, they didn't have to keep up the bullet shower for too much longer. Tabitha could only presume that Six had gotten to the bandits when the opposing fire ceased completely for a moment or two, although she and Sunshine kept up the suppressing fire just in case. Then it sounded like a gun was being fired off rapidly, and then there was just screaming. Well, screaming and the sound of Six's Boneshredder. As Tabitha holstered her Kraken, she wondered if the two sounds were connected.

Soon enough, Six rejoined them, dragging a woman along behind him. This surprised Tabitha for a moment, but only a moment. Nowhere was it written that all bandits were men, and she'd certainly seen enough proof of that during her vigilante days in Sanctuary. As the two approached, Tabitha kept her Kirin at the ready just in case there was trouble, but it soon became evident that Six had her neutralized; the woman seemed to be in a lot of pain, though besides clutching at her wrist, there didn't seem to be too much else wrong with her.

"Hell, Six, the way that Boneshredder of yours was going, I thought for sure you were slicing someone to bits," she commented as he passed the hostage on to Sunshine and mounted his horse again. At his comment about calling his allies by their names, she just shook her head and rolled her eyes. Then again, if they were going to be working together now, it might help to know what to call everyone, and so far, she was the only one without a name. "It's Tabitha," she finally sighed as Dawn turned to face the direction of New Jericho. "Are we done here?"

Sunshine

Sunshine watched Six slowly approach the bandits, and wished that she were doing something more than just scaring the little lambs. Seeing his heat signature disappear behind the rocks, she waited for a result. Soon after, she heard a woman’s screams and the sound of a buzzing chainsaw. Suppressing a shudder at the sound, Sunshine was painfully reminded of her time with Sir. Those two sounds together were common, and it never brought good results.

Continuing to use her thermal eye, she watched Six drag a person back with him. The person was walking, and no large trail of heat could be detected behind them; suggesting that Six hadn’t done too much damage despite the screams. When they got close enough, Sunshine closed her right eye and reopened her left. She wouldn’t deactivate her eye just yet, she would use it for the ride back. But she also wanted to remain alert; and with a change in environment, one would be more aware of the surroundings.

When Six finally reached both Sunshine and Anomino, the former female eyed the hostage. She was less than impressive, and when Six let her go, she cradled her obviously broken and already swollen wrist. Hearing Anomino’s assumption, Sunshine couldn’t hide the large grin that it caused. It was gone a relatively short time after, but she saw that the hostage had seen it and the others probably did as well.

Anomino then introduced herself as Tabitha due to Six prodding her with the question once more. Sunshine begrudgingly nodded to Six when he mentioned that she should take the hostage on Walker since he was the largest and heaviest built.

Turning back to Walker, Sunshine pat his side in an almost affectionate manner before ordering him, “Do not move until I tell you to.”

The Cyber-horse looked at her and let out a snort, as to say, ‘As if I were foolish enough to do otherwise.’

Turning back to the hostage she deadpanned, “Get on the horse.”

The woman gave Sunshine a confused glance as she stood there, unmoving. However, upon receiving a glare and seeing her captor reach for her gun, she complied by walking over. Sunshine nearly threw the woman onto Walker’s back and without waiting tied her hands together with the reins. Showing some mercy, she tied the hostage’s unbroken wrist tightly and gave the other a less severe tie. Sunshine was all too familiar with the pain of broken bones.

However, the woman lost all the pity Sunshine had for her when she kicked Walker’s sides and shouted dramatically, “Hi-yah!”

As Sunshine knew would happen, the horse did not move an inch. Fear glowed in the woman’s eyes as she gazed back down at Sunshine. The latter’s face was expressionless, but her eyes spoke epics of death and destruction that would reap the woman’s soul if she were not required to be returned alive. Swinging her body up into the saddle as well, Sunshine kicked the hostage’s feet out of the stirrups and took the reins that the woman’s hands were tied to. She made sure to jerk the right rein especially, hearing the woman yelp in pain and thinking to herself, ‘Serves her right.’

Sunshine spoke out the order to Walker, “Proceed.”

The cyber-horse took off, and Sunshine couldn’t be bothered with the other two on her squad at the moment. She was still too angry that the woman riding with her tried to steal Walker. ‘I really don’t like this hostage s**t.’

Upon arriving Thanatos noticed a large group of cacti growing and decided it would be a good place to wait since he had an hour before they would be there. The massive spined plants stood much taller than the gaint. Beautiful pink flowers sprouting from them were in full bloom. Thanatos hopped down from Hypnos and teathered him to a stump. Thanatos then sat down on the dried ground and leaned up against a dead tree that was shaded by the large cacti. He then took out his revolver and began to clean it with a small kit he had on him.

As Six made his way up the ridge on Diablo, he noticed the large man sitting with his back to a tree, surrounded by cacti, near a horse in the distance. "Chances are that's Thanatos and Hypnos, but better not to take chances." Unholstering his Titan, he continued toward the large figure until he was close enough to actually make out Thanatos' face. Reigning in Diablo, Six dismounted before actually holstering his gun once more and walking the rest of the way on foot.

Thanatos was cleaning his revolver when Six arrived and tethered Diablo close to Hypnos. There wasn't much choice in any event. With a pat on Diablo's neck, Six walked over to Thanatos' dead tree and sat down to his right with his back against the dark bark. "So, now we wait."

Sunshine road through the dust and grit, swearing to herself that she was going to purchase some sunglasses when she got the chance. Her last pair had been crushed under Walker’s foot on one of her last mercenary missions, and she hadn’t had the time to replace them yet.

Racing along the scenery Sunshine didn’t want to waste any time arriving to where she was supposed to be. She didn’t bother activating her thermal imaging eye, it wouldn’t be as useful as it had been last night. Having the time to think as she rode, Sunshine couldn’t help but reflect on her conversations with Thanatos yesterday. He wanted her to relax, trust people that he had stalked and assembled with her life. She thought he was insane.

However, the man--if he truly were mad--was like a fox. He knew how to connive and pressure to get his way, and it was apparent that he was good at it. ‘Whose to say I’m not being manipulated right now?’ She thought bitterly to herself.

Deciding that she didn’t care, and that money was money, Sunshine pushed Walker on. The horse whinnied with approval, he enjoyed a fast gait as much as she did. The horse’s metallic surfaces gleamed in the sunlight, and his mane flew out behind him; but not so much that it interfered with Sunshine.

Arriving at their destination, Sunshine didn’t bother getting out of the saddle as she announced, “Ready for orders.”

Her original plan of taking it easy having failed, Tabitha and Dawn came galloping up the hill. The palomino definitely had her own personality, and when she wanted to run, she ran. "You're going to embarrass me in front of the others, aren't you?" Tabitha muttered ruefully, to which the mare just whinnied gleefully. The goggles certainly helped on this bright morning, but some sort of scarf or handkerchief might be a good investment however. She was inhaling far more dust than she would have liked and would be coughing it up for a while, she was sure.

Up ahead, she finally spotted Thanatos and a figure that looked to be Six, along with Sunshine who remained upon her horse. Altering her direction slightly, Tabitha pulled Dawn to a halt beside Sunshine's horse, leaving a yard or so of ground between them. It wasn't that she doubted the temperament of the other horse; Tabitha had already seen that he was very well behaved. Dawn, however, could be another issue, and so she remained astride the palomino mare and leaned forward on the horn of her saddle. She nodded to each of the other three people but said nothing, figuring her presence was proof enough that she was ready for whatever was to come.

The wind picked up as Kayla reached the outskirts of the main part of town. She reached into her saddle bag to pull out a pair of goggles, put them on, and grabbed a scarf to cover her face from the sand the wind carried. Black Jack whipped his tail back in annoyance with the wind. , “Don’t worry boy, I doubt it’s a far ride to the rendezvous.”
Minutes later she saw a figure atop a palomino galloping towards three distant figures standing by a ridge. Feelings of pride rose from her that her random guess got her in the right direction. She gave a pat to Black Jack’s shoulder, excitement of the upcoming mission beginning to course through her veins, encouraging him to pick up speed. She and Black Jack reached the top of the ridge shortly after, joining her three other teammates.
She looked over at Thanatos and said , “What’s the plan Boss?”
