One of the worst things about the Negaspace was the lack of normal 'things'. The kind of little things that one didn't think about until boredom or time let your eyes wander to the little wonders. Grass shifting. Little birds hopping across the ground. Mice to chase around.

Here though.. when Dahlia finished with whatever she was doing there was almost nothing... Dark corridors... Cold crystals.. Unless someone actually happened by the place was cold and devoid of the little extras in life.

It was that realization that had the creamy colored cat sighing and frumping, sulking about the corridors as she sought out a certain aura. It didn't take a whole lot of poking about to catch hint of the aura in the distance, her paws picking up the pace in excitement the moment it was finally located.

It wasn't like they were friends yet or anything.. but they were allies and compatriots at the very least. Even kindred spirits in the slightest of ways.

Whether he wanted it or not it appeared poor Masahiro was about to get a little company for the day.

Hiro had just finished a report to Zinkenite about the progress of his infiltration plan. The small General had suggested some likely new targets, drawn from his information network. All in all, Hiro was feeling very pleased as he wandered back out to the winding corridors of Negaspace.

A familiar energy signature blipped on his Mauvian radar-sense. It was rarely of any use here, what with the majority of visitors to the Dark Kingdom being regular officers rather than senshi. And for so long he had been the only Mauvian around as well.

He paused and waited for the approaching Mauvian. Hiro still wasn't quite sure what to make of Dahlia, but if she was looking for him, he had the manners to wait.

Soon enough, the cream coloured feline wandered into view. Hiro dropped his head to one side. "Were you looking for me?" he asked. He could be wrong (it happened sometimes - shocking, Hiro knew, but even he wasn't perfect... just so close it often looked that way). Dahlia might be visiting Zinkenite, or on the lookout for someone else entirely.

"Any devious plans afoot?"

Zinkenite was indeed a friend of the feline, so it wouldn't have been too surprising for her to pay him a visit. She'd yet to discuss her opinions on the failure of Vertias' recent mission, which could have very well been a reason. But alas.. she was keeping her mouth quiet for the moment, not really intent on pissing off one of her closest allies so quickly. Because yeah.. her opinion was not a pleasant one.

Any question about her intent however was answered by the way her eyes locked onto the other cat once he'd came into sight. Dual colored eyes narrowed as if he were a mouse. "Mhmmmm. Looking just for you" She mused as she braced the distance between them, teasing him mildly, a playful sway in her step. "Flattering hmm?"

"Plans? Oh... I've been helping General Zinkenite with a promising potential recruit." Or he was helping her.. either way it didn't matter, if it worked they'd both get the credit for it.. and Dahlia would have a fun new toy to play with. But she lifted a paw, quickly brushing away the words before a literal whine escaped her.

"That's boring talk though, and I'm already bored..."

"You'll play with me some won't you? Show a girl a good time?" Her ears dipped back pathetically, eyes wide and needy, leaning in close enough to almost touch his whiskers with her own if he didn't lean back in horror first.

Hiro sat when Dahlia revealed she was looking for him. Might as well rest his back legs and be comfortable if they were going to have a talk. However, his expression was flat as Dahlia suggested that Hiro should be flattered. Searching him out was just a matter of good taste on Dahlia's part, not something Hiro should be thankful to her for, the tomcat believed.

He didn't voice his thoughts aloud, but he remained unmoved by the teasing sway as Dahlia approached. "What can I help you with?" he asked. It had better be serious, not some more games.

Hearing that she was working with Zinkenite relaxed him. It was good to know that Dahlia was pulling her weight. It was a big Negaverse and Hiro couldn't manage all the Destiny City officers on his own. It was good to know Dahlia was helping, not disappearing like some cats. "Senshi or human?" he asked, in regards to the new recruit she was targeting.

And then the conversation changed again. Dahlia did want to play games after all. The sort Hiro had no interest in indulging her in, if her wording and closeness was anything to go by.

He was about to turn her down flatly and stalk off when an idea occurred to him. Huh. A got-the-cream expression appeared on his face. If he was less restrained, he'd be twirling his whiskers like a cartoon villain would his moustache.

"Oh? Bored, you say?" he repeated, ears and tail pricking up. "Well then, I know exactly how to entertain you. Follow me."

And with that, Hiro was back on all fours and trotting off down one of the twisting corridors.

"Hmmm...? Oh. A promising human for now. I've not gotten close enough to any senshi yet, atleast not close enough to warrant mentioning. I figure any new body is a good one though, especially one that seems as capable as he does."

"Should the oppurtunity arise however I will keep my eyes open for potential senshi and cats though."

Despite her suggestive teasing Dahlia wasn't actually looking for any.. intimate sort of entertainment. She had assumed pretty quickly that the other cat was pretty stodgey, and she was trying to illicit a reaction more then anything. But should she turn out wrong and he surprise her, she wouldn't turn down that sort of attention.

But the truth was that she was actually fairly easy to entertain. And as bored as she was practically anything would do. Sit around and talk. Let him groom her. Chase each other around like idiots. Maybe have some fun sneaking up on and startling some Lts.

"Oh is it a surprise?" Her ears perked in happy surprise when he spoke up. She really had expected to have to beg him more than that to oblige her. But she didn't ask any questions, quickly falling in pace after him, pleased little smile on her maw.

Hiro shot an inquisitive look over his shoulder. A human? He really was beginning to wonder about Dahlia and her possibly humansexual habits. Hopefully this wasn't along those lines. "I suppose we can always use more regular soldiers, too."

Senshi would be best, though. Not that Hiro didn't adore his regular trainees, like Painite and Fluorite. But they needed more senshi. Barely a dozen was simply not enough. Maybe that made Hiro greedy... but he couldn't help but want ALL THE SENSHI.

"Oh yes, it's a surprise." He chuckled at they made their way into a large, empty room. It was brighter than most of the Negaverse hidey-holes, the crystals growing out of the floor amplifying what light there was and passing it into the surrounding crystals. In a way, it was almost too nice for the twisted Dark Kingdom. Hiro liked to nap here, pretending it was sunlight filling the room.

In the middle of the room, Hiro paused. He turned back to Dahlia, ensuring she was still there. After a pause, waiting for her to realise they had arrived, he announced, "En guarde."

Then there was an orange-and-black blur in the air. Sharp claws struck out at Dahlia.

... Training wasn't just for the humans, you know.

"He's strong and he has a strategically helpful job." She insisted in defense when Hiro seemed to poo-poo her endevours without much thought. It wasn't an argument really, just simple facts stated. It was true senshi were better, or cats. But any good recruit was a success.

She followed dutifully behind him with promise of entertainment, her eyes taking in the corridors as they walked. He didn't have to worry about her leaving or abandoning him, in fact she looked quite interested and curious as he turned to check on her, long and puffy tail swaying happily above her back. Her eyes

It HAD been a surprise. Of all the things she would have guessed an attack, playful or not, was not on the top of her mind. It was only thanks to feline reflexes that she hadn't ended up with a bunch of claws to the face, jumping to the left with a puff of fur. Even with the jump, he'd just barely missed and still was likely enough to hit her with a shoulder or tail.

The fur lining her spine had begun to lift and stand on it's ends in instinct, her own claws retracted in barely enough time to recover should he pivot or flail. But there was no whine as her ears pinned back, shoulders arching in her crouch. "Ohhh, tricky little cheater aren't you...?" It was funny, the words sounded far more affectionate and playful in tone then the actual words spoken.

Could she beat him? Dahlia didn't know and didn't have time to think about it. But one thing was for sure, he'd certainly found something interesting to pass her time with.

Hiro chuckled and mimicked Dahlia's defensive crouch. "Cheater? When I'm being so kind as to keep you aware and on your toes? The white moon senshi and cats won't always be stupid enough to announce themselves before attacking."

It made him want to headbutt a wall that any of them did it at all. Humans, he sighed to himself, raised on too many cartoons and superhero movies. They didn't seem to realise that the best way to take someone out was to not let them realise they were under attack at all.

Ah well. Their loss. Hiro would train his soldiers and senshi his way, and then they'd win. Easy.

"Anyway, you were saying... strategically helpful?" Hiro prompted, faking left, then darting right and swiping out with his front paws. There was no reason they couldn't continue their conversation while they fought. Cats were multi-talented creatures, Mauvians even more so (just ask them).

"Oh Masahiroooo..." The vowels were drawn out in a soft singsong tease as her tail lashed side to side. "Worrying about my safety hmmm?"

She certainly would have liked that if it were true. It was never bad to have someone enamoured with you, for someone to care enough about you that they'd put effort into keeping you safe or happy. But so far the other mauvian had been a little stodgey, and they really hadn't known each other long enough for him to grow any more attached to her then simple comradery. Didn't mean she couldn't tease him a bit though.

A soft hiss escaped her as his strategy worked, and after the faking his paws landed, his claws grazing her and leaving two tiny stinging lines on the skin hidden beneath her creamy fur. Her own paws lashed out in surprise and retaliation before she hoped backwards.

"He's a teacher. At that school for boys. He can keep his eyes out for good recruits."

It wasn't anger on her face, but something had changed, perhaps she was taking this just a little more seriously. It was her turn to dart forward, quick and low to the ground.

Hiro's ear went flat. It wasn't like he was some soft-hearted cat. He wanted to turn his head away and sniff, nose in the air, but that was hardly a smart move in the middle of a fight. He darted back from Dahlia's claws, which raked softly on his face and more sharply on a trailing leg.

"There are so few of us on the right side," he said. For once he referred to just the Mauvians rather than the Negaverse senshi as well. "We can't let anyone reduce our numbers." That would just leave one guardian cat for the entire Negaverse - hardly enough. Even two couldn't provide enough coverage for all the senshi, let alone the regular Negeverse officers who needed guidance and expert training. Maybe they should be out looking for more Mauvians to recruit...

Hiro's tail flickered in interest as Dahlia explained her plan. "Not bad," he gave a slow nod. "We've had some of our best come from that school." Zinkenite was still there, Hiro often dropping by the tiny General's dorm. And it never hurt to have more adults involved, instead of more children.

But right now Hiro was doing his best to leap out of the way of Dahlia's renewed attack. Something had made her turn serious, her claws faster and aimed at vulnerable locations. Even as Hiro twisted and turn, she followed. Needle-sharp claws ran down Hiro's side, drawing blood and a loud hiss. In retaliation, Hiro's teeth lashed out at Dahlia's fluffy tail. (They'd ended up quite turned around in all the chasing and flailing.)

Her teasing aside, his sentiments were true. Mauvians who had clued into the truth were far and few between, a real precious commodity. The two would have to look after each other.

Well.. except when she was the one trying to take him down.

The delight of a landed hit was short lived as teeth clamped her tail, which began to writhe like an angry snake. Her hiss was fairly snake like too as the brief but sharp pain shot up her spine. All the puffy fur might have helped to shield her tail some, but his teeth had still found their way to the skin. Tenacious tomcat!

Caught, she tugged once, before deciding that an offense was better than retreat, falling to her side and rolling to her back. He had her tail sure, but she was going to try and reel him in with it, her hind legs beginning to kick and flail at him.
