This is just a fun way to learn more about the Dragon-Bound world. Feel free to ask your favorite NPC any question you want: about the world, about politics, culture, art, religion, magic, history - you name it. Or ask them more personal questions about themselves. Anything is permitted and anything is answered. The goal behind this thread is to get people more information they can use to roleplay with while being more entertaining than a standard FAQ. For example: Quote: Tarketh, what is your favorite poison? Tarketh: I'd say it's the weeping cap, a mushroom that seeps a bluish liquid when you crush it. It thins the blood so that any scratch can cause a person to bleed to death and especially heavy doses can cause a person to actually cry blood. Unfortunately it works through ingestion only and it has a very distinctive odor and taste so using it isn't exactly subtle. Makes it worthless for assassinations. I feed it to my Bounds when I tire of them.

For Sain: What Do you look for in a blessed?
Fairy Kingdom: are there more than one Fae region cause I am quite confused with how many Fea kings and Queens they are?

Gormik(sp): does Crevan get something for seeking you out?
World of Dragon Bound: I plan on throwing myself into this world soon, I being a Inarni/ Vixen would that classify me as a Fae type or could we create another race type more spiritual tune creatures.

Jayara For Caleb: How old is your daughter? Do you really plan on having her follow in your footsteps as Yvette's personal guard and Head Dragon Hunter? Caleb: She's six. Yvette sometimes finds errands that will take me to her town so I can see how she's getting along and drop off some money for her mother... but really, her mother doesn't want me around. The Borderlands is not as hostile to single mothers as one would think - we've lost enough men in land disputes, to the dragons, and the likes that there's plenty of women without husbands or lovers. They get work. The local temples have a tradition of allowing children to remain there if there is no one else to watch over them during the day. Surprisingly, a lot of women join the town watch - I think it has to do with many of them being quite handy with a bow - and my daughter's mother has done that very thing. She does night watch most of the time. I'm hoping my daughter will take that as a strong influence towards the military arts and follow in her footsteps - and eventually in my own. My family has always been involved in the arts of war and I would like to see her continue the tradition. In the end though, it's going to be her choice. I can urge and push as soon as she's old enough to start asking who her father is but ultimately, if she chooses to do nothing more than town watch I can do nothing else. Except father another child, I suppose... which might not be a very good idea right now.

World of Dragon Bound: I plan on throwing myself into this world soon, I being a Inarni/ Vixen would that classify me as a Fae type or could we create another race type more spiritual tune creatures. Black Swan: They exist, that's why I am fascinated by them. Creatures that defy the mortal coil and yet their presence is permitted by the Blessed Path? There is still knowledge denied to me - and I suspect denied to Sain as well - and these creatures seem to be a piece of that Their unlife is... both unnatural and natural and I cannot discern why. If I could find why their taint is permitted than perhaps I can use it. But their sire is formidable, even to I... Baroness Yvette: The incident has been buried and forgotten. It would take resources that I am not willing to commit to hunt them down and my efforts are better spent elsewhere. I sent Caleb and his hunters out and they found an adolescent and brought its hide back through the center of my city so everyone could see. That was enough to satisfy the masses. I need do nothing more in that regards. Sain: Initiative, mostly. The Blessed Path doesn't have much of a handbook, you see, so the knowledge it provides is usually through action. Nothing is handed to us. I can see all the possible futures but there are so many that I must consider the strongest and then determine what actions will lead to those becoming the events that are cemented in time. I can reshape reality but I must find ways to do so that will leave a small footprint to the world around. And while I will provide guidance, I still expect my fellow Blessed to actively search through the possible futures of this world and seek the weak points where our intervention is needed - like the Black Swan's scion or the war between the fae. Kocerou: I get to answer this question because I am fae and probably the most affable of the lot. And most attractive and other assorted 'a' words like awesome and admirable... and arrogant. Hah! So - my kingdom - that of the Silver Rose - is only one of several fae kingdoms. It's actually difficult to number us as kingdoms come and go in response to the growth of the forest. We also have some kingdoms scattered in the remote places of the world where the humans haven't gone like the northern mountains and the ocean - but we rarely have contact with them. The King of the Ocean is a bit of a d**k, in all honesty. The only one you really will need to remember is the Silver Rose as their territory is all along the border between fae and human/dragon. The rest are further into the forest where time and distance blur and don't fit in your standard definitions. Don't seek them out. It won't end well. Sain: They can indeed. The reasons why are forbidden to mortal kind, sorry. But a reborn can also be Blessed. Tarketh: Funny you should ask that... tell you what. Drink this cup of *cough* tea *cough* and you'll find out. Gorknik: ...rabbit bones? No, no... bit of soft yellow metal... no, plenty of that in human hands already... ah. Glass orb. Strange colors - all pale blue shot through with white flecks. Do not break it yet. Someday. Not yet. Kocerou: You totally classify as fae. Want to be one of my retainers? Hmmm?

Quote: @Ares:"Would food be ever from your mind, dragonet?" he man jested before gathering random bits here and there that he deemed were edible enough for dragon-type munchies. A mouse tail, some cheese, something's finger, a head of lettuce, a drumstick the mage had not touched yet... all plus more went into the bag that he decided to bring along.
The shiny though? He turned to look and saw the dragon looking at a pendulum on the wall that had a clear bubble of glass hanging from the end. And inside that bubble was a sparkle that twisted around in its confines, the color shifting from blue to silver to almost a white.
"You want that?" He plucked it off the wall like it had been a plum from a leafy branch. "If there is time we may play with it a little. But let's head to the circle now. We need not terry for anything longer, no?" He stepped with the bag and treasure to the circle that was now beginning to complete itself in the stone. With a flick of a hand, liquid light seemed to fill the cracks. "Hurry now or I will leave you behind." Erimett: Well, I'll be. It ~is~ the same bobble. This should be interesting. *frowns* I must tell Ares he has to keep better track of his toys...

Ooo, I have another. Going to go to Yvette, Caleb, or both on this one because I don't know who would have the answer.
Yvette/Caleb/etc: (Because I'm probably not going to find out via rp,) What happened on the castle's side of things after... um... after someone probably swung by to see the mage who had the ranger captive? What did they think happened?

Black Swan: You will have to find answers to that on your own, little mortal. I am not as generous with my knowledge as some are wont to be. Baroness Yvette: That is not a question you ask a lady, more less one you ask of one of noble blood. Have you no manners? But I am 46. Sain: The Swan is older than I am so I only know bits and pieces of its history. I know it stands in opposition to the Blessed Path but it is not a balancing force... but neither does it seek to destroy the Path. As for why it may be interested in the vampires - that, I cannot guess at for I know little of the Swan's motivations. My personal theory, if you must know, is that it's merely trying to piss me off. Tarketh: Yes indeed, I have a terrible case of Iwanttopoisonsomeone. It's a rare illness, quite inconvenient. C'mon. Drink the damn tea. Kocerou: Maybe I don't want you as a retainer. If you don't even know what they are you'd be a nightmare to train. Ahem. Retainers are the people that follow me around and do my bidding. They're like servants except with a deal of autonomy and they are allowed to carry my crown for me. I like my retainers. They make my life less hectic.

What did they think happened? Caleb: Ugh. I had to shift through that mess - not literally, thank the gods - but it was up to me to try and piece together what happened. The best I could figure was that the ranger we'd brought in had some sort of magical talent that she'd managed to bury, or perhaps it hadn't awakened until this moment. Either that, or she was blessed by one of the gods and countered with divine - basically, the most we could figure out is that magic had gone horribly wrong and our mage was caught in the blast. We figured that the ranger was dead as well, possibly her body utterly destroyed by said magic. The room stank of it - worse than the blood even. So we left it at that and found a new mage for the keep as soon as we possibly can and he took a look at it and said it was primal in nature, some sort of magic he wasn't familiar with. Cleansed the room, summoned a priest of Lahmear to purify it, and left it at that.

Baroness Yvette: Have you ever prolonged your age with the knowledge of magics?
Sain :Wait now, the Swan is older that you how can that be?
Tarketh: Are you willing to force me with that attitude?
Kocerou: If you want me to be, then let me be the Nightmare to be trained. If anything it would be amusing as well as a life experience. Question lingers though, why would you even ask in the first place, with out the knowledge of knowing what I do and don't know, before you so willing lash at me with harsh insults, sounds a little unjust?

Black Swan: She overstates my generosity. As for why I request the heart... it has long been a symbol of life and power. The heart is believed to be the center of all things, the source of emotions and without it, one cannot live. It is so very fragile. By taking the heart, I have a hold over the person that they cannot best, over their life, over their being. Baroness Yvette: Prolonging my life with magic is impossible and I do not care to commit my resources to bringing an alterist to the Borderlands. Vanity is not worth that sort of money and ordeal. Sain: I'm an agent of the Blessed Path - the oldest of them - but the Path was around far, far before I was. And from what I can tell, the Swan came into being shortly after or at the same time as the Path. Tarketh: I have barbs. I can just stab you with one. Kocerou: I'm a fae. My kind aren't renowned for thinking our actions through. It's anathema to us. You expect an explanation?
