It was a lovely summer day. All around the shadow-coated wolf, a light breeze blew, rustling the leaves high above and carrying the sweet scent of some unknown flower. All of the signs indicated that she was not the only wolf in the area. In fact, she seemed to have stumbled upon pack territory. Better and better. Even a wanderer enjoyed company from time to time, and this was especially so for a storyteller. Senka sighed in contentment, allowing the tranquility of the day to sooth her restlessness. Soon, she would surely come across one of the local wolves and perhaps she could have a pleasant visit with the pack; learn something new or share something of her own. Her ears pricked forward when she caught a quiet rustle in the underbrush. Ah. That must be one of them, now.

Terabithia was finding that she was growing slowly tired with life. She had been doing her best to keep things running smoothly with Fanta but her father had gone missing and she only knew that her mind would not calm down without him being safe at home. No one really knew where he had gone off to, and her mother was sure that Allah was safe. But that really didn't help the rose painted she-wolf.
She found herself stretching out among the roses, sniffing them thoughtfully as she lay on her belly. Her claws dug at the earth as she eased herself down. She certainly wasn't as young as she had once been but she was not an old wolf, to be sure.
Things were just so slow lately, she was having a hard time finding things to keep herself, and her children, busy.

Of a certainty, she had never seen a wolf who looked quite like this one. She was, in fact, quite beautiful, in an exotic way. But that was neither here nor there. She seemed...troubled. It was in such discord with Senka's own mood that the shadowy wolf could not help but feel her heart go out to the unknown femme.
My, but that was a sad sight, indeed.
There would be none of her mischief here. No fanning of the embers. Perhaps she could be of some small help, instead. With those thoughts, Senka made herself known.
"Greetings, lady."

The she-wolf perked her head at the voice, and her own light colored eyes met the blood red ones of the wolf that had greeted her. Always one to be polite, Tera bowed her head in greeting with a soft smile playing on her features.
"Good evening. I don't think I've seen you around before." She said, and her tone was almost..ethereal. She was soft spoken, yet her words held conviction and wisdom.
"So I do not think that I know you." She smiled again, and chuckled. She had almost a..queen like feeling about her. She was regal, and proud. But she was humble and kind.
"My name is Terabithia, er, Tera. What is your name, newcomer?"

Oh, but she was an elegant one. Like a princess...or a queen. The kind that made males want to flock to protect her. Well, whatever the case, Bryanni had taught her better than to stare. She knew well how to mind her manners.
"Terabithia," she said, testing the name. It was equally lovely. It suited her. "My name is Senka. You would not have seen me before. I am a storyteller, you see, and I am on a journey. This is my first time in the area."

Tera perked noticably and she smiled. Oh it had been ages since she had heard a new story! Perhaps this would be a way of making her feel that fire again. "A storyteller you say? Do you have any stories to tell me? I am afraid that I haven't heard anything new in a good while." She sighed and then sat herself up.
"Do forgive me, Senka. I am the poorest of company as of late I'm afraid." She said, and smiled warmly at the female opposite of her.
"You should tell me of your journey." She suggested.

Senka allowed herself a small, genuine smile. This right here was half of the joy in being a storyteller. After all, what would they be without someone to tell a story to?
"I am sure you are not such terrible company as that," she reproved, then settled back on her haunches. "I have many tales to share, though I have never been asked for my own." She thought for a moment, trying to decide where to start.
At the beginning, she supposed.
"In my pack, there is a tradition for each new storyteller to undertake a solitary journey. A trial, of sorts, to prove our worth while gathering and spreading tales throughout Telk. Learning of the world and its inhabitants."
There was more to it, of course. She was also gauging the potential threat of existing packs and seeing where the balance of power lie. There were many practical aspects to it, but at its heart, it was still a test of her worth. Besides, it would probably be impolite to mention that she was also a spy of sorts, if only by happenstance.

"Like a test of survival. That sounds rather amusing." She said with a grin. It certainly wasn't something she was going to make her own packfollowers do, but it was interesting that others out there had such ideals. She supposed though, that not all wolf packs found roses as influential as theirs did either.
"Are you on this journey, Senka? Or are you long past such things and just exploring for the joy of it. I think that if I was able, I'd explore everywhere." She said and then chuckled again. For such a logical female she could sometimes sound quite whimsical.
"And what brought you to these lands?" She asked, peering around her surroundings. She really did live in beautiful open countryside..

"Perhaps it is amusing to you, but my pack takes such things quite seriously," she said, and though she did not sound it, she was slightly annoyed. She might be pretty carefree about a lot of things, but when it came to her duties, she was deadly serious.
"Ah, but I am still officially on this journey, though I suppose I have already proven my worth. When I return, I will be the new storyteller. For now, I intend to enjoy my travels a little longer."
"As to what brought me here in particular, well. I wander wherever my paws take me, for the most part. Unless I hear of something particularly interesting...and I have heard of your pack. It does sound fascinating."

Terabithia had been born in this part of the lands, and she hadn't really had the experience in traveling anywhere else. If she had offended, she'd never have known unless the other told her. She simply wasn't all that sure of other customs!
"I didn't mean.. amusing, I guess. I'm sorry. Only the idea is quite interesting is all. I have plans to go out and see the lands a bit for myself sometime. But as of now, it simply just isn't possible." She sighed. Maybe one day she'd be able to share her travels with others!
She perked when the other told her that her pack was fascinating. She rather liked her home, her packmates. She had grown to love them all, and the entire pack just made her feel home.
"I hope the best for you then! May you get all the stories your heart desires." She said pleasantly.

"Hmm..." Well, she supposed that this female had meant no offense. To others, perhaps the concept was different.
"You should travel, if you have the chance. Seeing the world is quite illuminating. Of course, you should be certain you can take care of yourself. Not everyone is cordial. Some are simply hostile, and some packs are best avoided by most."
Not that she had ever minded which packs she visited. Not even the Reign of Terror had scared her away. Of course, she was uniquely able to get out of situations that might kill others, but that was beside the point.
"I thank you, though. I am certain that there are many more tales for me to collect before I am done."
