What a lovely day. The weather was just right, and there was a pleasant breeze gently swaying the grass and the hair of anyone who so desired to venture outside.
Like Riyo. Beautiful days like this were wasted in the confines of her room, but by that same token, it meant more students would be outside too. While the feline remembered just why she had enrolled, that didn't mean she had to work towards it every single day.
Which is why, instead of sitting on a bench, she had the normal thought process of a cat seeking shelter from the dogs. She climbed a tree.
Now, Riyo wasn't as in touch with her feral side as she liked to think. It was a work in progress, what with all the exercising and weight lifting she'd been doing. Climbing a tree? It wasn't as easy for her as it had been when she had weighed 50 lbs and contained all the pep in the world.
Eventually though, she'd done it. Through trial and error and... losing her grip a couple of times, Riyo had managed to grab a sturdy branch and plant herself on it. Ah, what a nice view. Resting her back against the trunk, she let one of her legs hang down while the other was lazily propped up on the branch. Yes. This would do just fine.
... If Felix hadn't been laying at the base of the tree, giving away her cover. No matter. Maybe the schmucks passing would think he was just a stray taking a nap in the shade.

With as nice of a day it was, taking their studies outside seemed to be a pretty swell idea. It was nice to switch things up a bit anyway. So, making his way out with Mitsu, Shun placed his hands into his pockets while looking around for a good place to plant themselves. There were a few places here and there that seemed to be pretty good.
"How about that tree?" he asked quietly, noting one of trees on campus. For now he couldn't see Felix there. If he had, he wouldn't have suggested it, knowing hos Mitsu felt around cats and whatnot. Then again, he might have recognized that particular mini anyway.

Following behind Shun, Mitsu was glad to be outside for a change. The day was nice and the breeze was light. They would have to bring their studies outside more often. Perhaps they could take a break at some point so Shun could show her a few things, though Mitsu knew serious training would probably be done best with a different set of clothes.
Holding her books close the lycan looked around as well for a suitable place for the two of them to sit and study looking toward the tree Shun had pointed out a little ways off in the courtyard.
"That will work," Mitsu nodded heading toward it. She had yet to see the feline napping at the base of the tree. While Mitsu might have recognized Felix she probably would have still avoided him despite how friendly the cat seemed to be. Ziggy was friendly and Ziggy had still scratched up her hands which still had band-aids here and there to cover some of the deeper wounds. "It's nice to be outside for a change."

Riyo had closed her eyes momentarily to relax and enjoy the breeze, until familiar voices caught her now perked ears. What the-
Glancing down from her branch, she held back a sigh. Now what were they doing there?
Carefully, the feline readjusted herself so she could watch the duo better, though she didn't make her presence known. No, not yet. Maybe they'd mention her at some point in this little adventure. Wouldn't that be interesting? Sure, she already knew Shun couldn't stand her, but what about Mitsu? What did she really think?

Nodding to the wolf girl, Shun continued to move towards the tree, setting his bag down by the base. He hadn't bothered to look up at all so for the time being he didn't know that Riyo was right above them.
"Yeah.." he murmured before sitting himself down. It was about then that he noticed Felix there, but it looked like the cat was asleep. Furrowing his brow some, he ignored it. If he didn't pay it much attention, perhaps Mitsu wouldn't see it either.
"Just hope it doesn't rain any time soon," he added lowly.

"Do you think it might?" Mitsu asked looking up toward the sky. It seemed pretty clear though there were a few clouds. The lycan supposed it was possible that rain could come but it seemed unlikely. Normally she could feel it in the air, smell it even.
Setting her things down next to Shun's Mitsu happened to glance over and see the pointed tips of ears. Curiosity pulled her forward though there was only regret afterward when she realized it was a cat. The fur on her tail bristled as she took a step back staring at the feline silently napping the day away. It looked familiar though....strangely familiar.
"T..there's a cat." Mitsu stuttered looking no more comfortable with the idea than she had months ago. Progress had taken a few steps backward.

Hearing mentions of his presence, Felix's ears perked. One couldn't tell if he had woken up, exactly, since his eyes were covered with those thick green lenses. Though his movement made it clear.
His head lifted quietly, looking between the two who hadn't been there when he closed his eyes. Oh, he recognized the two. The ghoul didn't like him, but the boil certainly did. Purring, the hazcat drowsily lifted himself up so he could instead make a bed out of Shun's lap. Lazy day wasn't over yet. As long as Riyo was up in that tree, he could have all the naps he wanted. The only thing that would make it better was a back scratch, and maybe the boil would help with that.
Riyo cringed when they noticed Felix, wondering if they'd start to question where she was. Well, maybe the two of them would get scared off by the hazcat. Then she'd have her peace again. Though, she couldn't really decide if that was what she wanted now that her instinctual curiosity was peaked.

So much for Mitsu not noticing the cat. Though, Shun was almost certain he knew this feline. When it decided to climb onto his lap, this confirmed it.
"This is Riyo's cat..." he murmured before looking from side to side. He didn't really think to look up at the time still. From what he could tell, the student wasn't really anywhere nearby. Well, that was better in his opinion anyway, "Think he got out?"
Looking over at Mitsu, he noticed that she was on edge once more. The incident with Ziggy must have reverted her fear for cats. Letting out a sigh, he petted Felix on the head lightly while reaching out for the masked girl's hand with his free one.
"You shouldn't be worried. From what I've noticed, he's a lot more chill than Ziggy," He said quietly. Felix was certainly a lot more chill than his owner for sure.
Right now he was trying to get her to pet the cat. Sure it wasn't his cat or anything like that, but the opportunity arose to try and settle the girl down from the fear she had built up. It was too bad Bent-Tail wasn't around. If so, that could probably help a bit.

"Riyo's?" That explained why the cat looked familiar to her. She had seen the feline with Riyo. "I..I don't know." Mitsu said honestly. Maybe Riyo let the hazcat run around on his own or perhaps he had gotten out like Ziggy had. Should they try to find Riyo? Looking around Mitsu didn't see the demon cat about and like Shun she didn't think to simply look up. "I don't see her nearby..."
Feeling fingers grasping her hand Mitsu looked back to see Shun taking hold of her hand. He was trying to pull her toward them and she wasn't sure she wanted to go. "S...Shun.." She whined a little before reluctantly taking a seat on the grass, her ears falling back against her head. The tension was already starting to spread through her body, the cat was too close. Mitsu would much rather deal with Arkham at the moment.
"I..I don't.." Shun guided her hand toward the cat and placed it on the feline's back. Chills instantly ran up Mitsu's spine as she felt the soft fur under her finger tips. Her eyes clenched behind her mask as if waiting for the worst to happen. She was trying to be trusting in Shun which was why she hadn't jerked her hand away but she was still scared.

Riyo was pretty much waiting for that comical moment when they looked up and saw her, though surprisingly it didn't come. The two of them were too busy spoiling her hazcat... Which was fine, she supposed. It wasn't like they could turn Felix against her or something silly like that...
Right?
Right, right. No way. As Riyo observed quietly, she wondered what Mitsu would do if Felix moved. The fact that the lupine was scared of cats didn't amuse Riyo in the least, so for the ghouls sake she hoped nothing bad would come of this.
Ah, yes. Felix had called it. It didn't take long for the nergal feline to start purring up a storm. Nothing like the warmth of a body and a cool breeze through your fur to make the day perfect.
Though, he could sense Mitsu's tenseness. Ears folding back, Felix looked up at her. What was making her so uncomfortable? Should he try and be friendly again?
When the canine's hand came down, he pushed himself into it, as if trying to encourage her. Hell, if he could get two people to scratch him at the same time, this would somehow be better than perfect.

Even with just her hand, Shun could feel how tense she was as he brought it closer to Felix. The cat seemed pretty eager for the attention and it seemed that he was right about it being a pretty decent choice for trying to help settle the girl down.
Well, that aside, the mask at least prevented it from biting anyone.
"Relax," he said softly, trying to reassure her"See? He just wants to be pet. He won't hurt you."
Actually, he had an idea. Once the contact had been made, he let go of Mitsu's hand to reach up to brush his fingers against her right ear. This should help settle her down some more. All the while, he continued to lightly stroke Felix's fur.
"We had some bad run ins, but not all cats are going to pounce your face."

Mitsu could feel the cat pushing into her hand as she was forced to press down lightly. She really didn't pet the animal though, she merely left her hand in place as Shun pulled away. The urge to jerk back was there, what was it that Shun was saying? She could barely hear him over her irrational fear.
Just about to pull back despite how she was trying to fight it, Mitsu stopped as soon as Shun's fingers touched her ear. "Nnn.." The strange coo of a noise was quickly followed by a happy whimper as Mitsu knelt her head toward the reaper. The cat under her touch was quickly forgotten as her body started to relax against the ear scratches. It really was her weakness. She would have to point out how unfair this was....when it stopped feeling so nice.
"Mmhmm..." Was all Mitsu could manage to respond with to Shun's last statement, her mind nothing more than a gooey mess.

Riyo's eyebrow raised as Shun's hand reached for Mitsu's ears. Oh, now that was playing dirty right there. The feline had a similar problem when it came to the sensitivity of ears... Though she would never tell a soul.
It seemed to work in calming her down, however. Of course it did. Mitsu's brain was probably ready to drip out of the fuzzy appendages.
Leaning out to get a better view, the feline did her best to remain silent... Until a churrpup angrily darted past her. What the ********?!
Her head immediately started jerking around to see what the cause of the commotion was. Oh s**t. There was a nest... Just above her. "nonono.." She whispered to the mini, cringing as it came in for another divebomb. "FFFF" Oh no, she was losing her balance. OH s**t. SHE WAS FALLING. "HEADS UP." She screamed to the three below her.
Well... Felix had been in heaven for the peaceful few minutes he, Shun, and Mitsu had shared together... But the second he heard a yell from above, the hazcat knew what was happening.
There was no hesitation. The nergal darted out of Shun's lap and a good few feet away from the scene... Just in time for his place to be taken by his owner.
Riyo had almost landed on her feet. Almost. If it hadn't been for one of the branches clipping her leg, but at least she landed on something soft...

Shun frowned and stopped with the ear petting as it was being a little too effective here. He could tell that she wasn't very coherent at that point, so he was trying to let her regain her senses so that she could deal with Felix a little more normally.
However, he soon heard a voice from above and the next thing he knew was that he had a student dropping right on top of him.
Letting out a loud grunt, his vision flashed white with pure pain. He didn't know who had fallen on him but he reached out reflexively to try and brace himself. Well, he was actually trying to double over, but that didn't work too well when someone was on top of him. He might have brushed against something furry, but he didn't know what was going on really.
Just. Pain. Intense. Pain.
Even with his high pain tolerance, it was just too much.

It seemed as soon as the ear petting started it stopped as Shun pulled away. The urge to whimper struck Mitsu but she somehow refrained as she straightened up a little. Slowly she pulled her hand back and away from Felix as she regained her senses looking at the feline with a touch of concern. "D..do you think we should look for-"
Mitsu's ears perked a bit hearing some noise above them. Mitsu had just started to turn her head upward when the call to look out came. "Ah!" The lycan barely moved in time, narrowly missing a boot to the head. Shun...wasn't as lucky.
Ears drooped to the side of her head Mitsu edged a bit closer to the two. It was obvious Shun was in pain. "A...are you both alright?" Mitsu asked edging closer to help Riyo move off of Shun.
