Besides, she had to get Zinkenite and Wolframite back for that humiliation. For that, she had to somehow get upgraded to Eternal.
This stupid little hole-in-the wall cafe was so boring, she thought, her splinted leg throbbing a little as a reminder as to why exactly she was stuck there. She couldn't drive with one leg so sensitive to pressure she needed crutches to walk. It simply could not be done.
Unless it had to. And if the giant youma tiger leaping through the coffee shop's window wasn't a requirement for a sudden and swift shift to Gunn, she didn't know what was.

Sue wasn't sure what he had been doing there in the first place. He didn't often visit cafes, but today he decided on something different...or maybe it was because he was going to meet someone. Really, the thought that he was there for no reason just made more sense, but alas, there was a reason. It just so happened that his reason changed drastically when the window shattered in the wake of a great youma, and the teen found himself crashing to the floor from his attempt at scrambling out of the ********. ******** ******** <********> he had to get out of here! His Senshi weren't around, and there was no way he could take on that Youma by himself! What was he going to do?! What was--- Wide blue eyes turned to stare towards the influx of energy, the blast of aura that just screamed Senshi. It was a Moonie, not one of his own...but it was someone. A second sense kicked in, and a distant, still unfocused part of him realized something else about this particular Moon Kingdom Senshi; a power, ready to grow.
She wasn't one of his, he couldn't bring himself to help her out right away. Perhaps there was one of her own in the area? For now he did nothing, he stood by, near the back in the corner, and played the random bystander.

The problem with Sue's plan was that the particular Moonie was hurt. Gunn couldn't move, not really, and only had limited access to flame; there was a little candy platter with a little brazier in it, they'd been roasting marshmellows or something on it. It was out by the wall on a wooden... spinny thing, she didn't know enough English to really describe it... and she couldn't quite reach it. Confronted by the screaming civilians and the prowling tiger monster, she looked for anyone she could get to throw the damn thing closer to the enemy.
She only saw one person, a civilian with purple hair in a ponytail. What was with the Americans and their ponytails? "Civilian," she said, her tone sharp in the way she would yell at Special Forces cadets. "That brazier, throw it at the monster!"

And, like a civilian, he jumped when directed, dumbly pointing at himself. Really, out of everyone, the girl picked him, the one that could actually help her out more than anyone here. For the first time he actually took stalk of her and realized for the first time that she could do little as she was. ********' A...just...augh, really? A Moonie? He better not make a damn habit of it. Still, there were people looking at him now that she so kindly drew attention to him...there would be no transforming as is! What? He was careful!
Looking to the brazier that pointed out to him, he did as she said, grabbing it and tossing it towards the monster. By then, everyone who had been staring at him were (hopefully) following the arch of the impromptu weapon...and the boy named Sue suddenly disappeared in a surge of energy. A few quick steps forward and Zue grabbed the Senshi by the arm, turning her a little more towards him, just enough to send his other hand through her chest.
He was working on instinct, locking into her power and pulling, drawing forth the extra power bottled up within her.

Gunn watched the improvised missile rocket towards the tiger and pointed one brown-gloved hand towards it. "Gunn Wildfire Vorac--" and then there was a massive surge of energy. What the ********? What the flipping ******** even was that, she only remembered sensing something similar once and that was around Tanzanite, but this was... this was a good feeling, like standing under the bright sun. "What the ********!" she said to the approaching cat-boy. A cat-boy, she knew of those in a roundabout way. Zirconia could take this kind of crossover form, she knew, but she'd never... seen it. Not in person. Only the cat-self.
And he reached into her chest, and it felt for a moment, just a brief moment, like she was consumed by sunshine--not even that. She couldn't describe it, not until she finally felt that the transformation--she knew it was that--was complete.

Then she lifted one hand and slapped the catboy. "At least buy me dinner first," she scolded. She pointed towards the monster and intoned her super attack: "Gunn Wildfire Voracious Propagation!"
The resulting flames were huge. Evidentally she'd missed the monster ripping its way through some kind of gas main. It didn't explode, but it did cause the flames to billow and bloom much larger than they otherwise would have. "Thank you," she said to the purple-haired catboy as she picked up her purse and crutches. No way had the youma survived that onslaught. "I really appreciate it, actually."

Zue wasn't entirely sure why he'd gone half-form. Not only did it send a nice big flare of energy, but...it also seemed to get him slapped during the upgrading process. Instantly his ears flattened against his purple hair, blue eyes narrowed into slits and a very, very fluffy tail fluffed out in irritation.
"Why you u---" His no doubt seething words were cut off by the flare and billow of flames, his arms lifting to shield his face from the heat and shine. Once it was over, blue eyes turned to observe the newly upgraded Senshi, not bothering to touch his now red cheek. "You have a funny way of showing it." The boy snorted, lips pulling into a very unamused scowl, and looked away with his hands on his hips. "But you're welcome, I guess." He shrugged, then looked around...yeah, it was probably a good idea to move now.
"Not that I care, but I really think now would be a good time to get the ******** out of here." Oh so eloquent, that Zue. Of course, he at least took stock of her condition. "Think you can manage, or does gimpy need help?" It really was a wonder why he was still single, in any form. He wasn't going to power down in a room of people, just in case. That would be bad for everyone involved, or so he assumed. It was always better to play it safe than sorry, and he had an awful lot to lose.

She quirked an eyebrow at the nickname. No, she didn't know what exactly "Gimpy" meant but she knew that she didn't like it, mostly because she knew it had to be an insult. Gimpy? Really? It sounded so dumb. "Gimpy's fine," she said dismissively. The sprinklers overhead turned on, and the premises slowly drained of civlians. She took one painfully unassisted step behind the purple-haired cat, and before he could look, she transformed back into Kaatje.
Not like it would help. He would know anyway; she was the only person moving from behind him and picking up her crutches. Still, she felt... strangely good about things.
Maybe she'd try to go to that meeting after all.
