Character Name: Janeallia
Age: 20
Gender:Female
Sexual Orientation: Lesbian
Craft/Rank: Beast Craft/Journeywoman
History: Janeallia is the daughter of a glass blower, and a herder in Arcon Hold. Her mother was her idol as a child, she loved her papa, but her momma was the best person she knew. When not doing chores around the hold, or in lessons with the Hold harper with other children her age, Janeallia could be found running around at her mother’s heels. Despite her running around at her mothers’ heels Janeallia was always on the large side, until she hit puberty. Then she grew into the baby weight, both in height and strength, all the running around had paid off. Another benefit of her running around the with the life stock the hold sent to Malvern Weyr. Because she was around the animals so often she’d gotten good with them, and when she turned twelve she was sent all the way to Keroon and became a Journeywoman in breeding, and healing.
It was while at Keroon Craft Hall that Janeallia’s sexuality became more apparent. She’d never really liked the boys in her home hold. Not that she hated them, she just wasn’t attracted to them. Not like the other girl’s her age, liked boys. She had her first active crush on the senior apprentice that was over her dorm, though at that point she was insecure about herself and didn’t act on her feelings. Just when said crush walked the tables and left the craft hall, Jane was getting used to her changing body type. She never had the chance to express her feelings to her first crush but once she gained the confidence that went with her large build, she didn’t make that mistake again. Though most of the girls did not return her feelings they did not shun her, but instead saw her as a trust worthy friend and when needed, protector. She had walked the tables with the rest of her age mates, and been sent off to help with the stock at Marsitas Hold. She’d been living there for a half a turn before being able to attend a Gather, where she was searched. The Journey woman was surprised, when searched, she was so close to aging out, but she was thrilled at the chance. She would stand the sands for as long as she was allowed to, and if she didn’t impress, she would go back to her duties as a journeywoman. And so she was whisked away to go to Malvren. Description: Janeallia, being the offspring of two largely built parents, is built much the same. She is tall and built thick, which aided in her ability to manipulate the generally much larger beasts she had to be work with and be able to control even if they didn’t want to be controlled. Though when she can she would much rather not use force to make a beast obey.
During the mild warm season at home, Janeallia’s hair was a dark brown, during the rainy cold season though, it darkened from lack of sunlight to a brown so dark it was almost black. During her time in Keroon, her hair grew much lighter from spending all day in the sun every day. Her thick locks are usually bound in some fashion, most often braids. Because of said braids when she does wear her hair down it falls in waves.
Her eyes are a deep deep blue. As a child she had to wear reading lenses for she was far sighted, but after wearing the glasses for turns her eyes adjusted and she rarely needs them anymore. However if she gets a head ache while working on paper work, she will put the glasses on. She is not what could be considered beautiful, though she wasn’t ugly either, she just believes herself to be, not that she’d ever admit it. Her face is somewhat chubby, and her nose has been broken and not properly healed so it is slightly crooked. She has scars from various incidence, the worst being a thick scar in her side where an angry bull’s horn caught her side as he charged by her.
She prefers breeches and tunics over skirts, it was more of a practicality choice than a fashion one. It was simply easier to mount a runner in breeches than it was in a skirt. For a gather she might wear a dress if she feels like feeling pretty for a while, but mostly she will stick to her breeches.
Personality: Janeallia is primarily motivated by achievement, she wants to do and be the best that she can be in order to show her mother how good she can be. That she can be successful and was worth being proud of. Though her mother is already proud of her. Though she is motivated by achievement she is also not the type to walk all over someone to do better than them.
She is curious by nature, always wanting to investigate and know more. This however can get her into trouble, it is after all how she got the scar on her side. Because she is curious, she has a tendency to press a little more than some may like when asking questions. If she notices someone is down, she wants to know why and will not take no for an answer.
She is fairly even tempered and optimistic, which can sometimes make people think she is naive. Janeallia is conscientious of integrity when she in work and life in general, honesty and responsibility are all very important to her. When other's slack off on responsibility she has a habit of riding their case until they take care of what needs to be taken care of, this can come off as bossy. For the most part controlled impulsive behavior, she is intrepid and flexible when dealing with new situations and open minded, she is a warm person wanting to help others. However she will stop trying to help someone if they are taking advantage of her. Though she doesn't help people for gifts or thanks, though they are nice, she just likes to help people who need it.
She is agreeable in social situations and engaging when talking about something she is passionate about. In groups she would rather follow and get recognized for what she did as part of the group, than to lead, unless whomever is leading is clearly wrong, then she will step in and make her concerns known. When it comes to cultural norms Jane doesn’t flaunt her opinions but she is rather unorthodox in what she does. She has a gleeful sense of humor, laughing a full laugh if she finds something amusing.
Jane, used to being in the fields with nothing but her beasts, often hums whistles or sings softly to herself. She likes to be up and doing things, so when she has to sit still for too long she tends to tap her foot or bounce her knee. When deep in thought or nervous about something she will bite her lip finger nail, or anything really.

Journal Entry #1
I was eating lunch in the dining hall this afternoon, and I was just finished up when I heard that someone's critter had told her there were some flit eggs on the beach, and that they were alone. Though she couldn’t get a straight answer about where they were. There was no gold protecting them, and regardless of the eggs age, they would be in danger. I couldn't resist the temptation of possibly getting one for myself, I’ve been sort of lonely, but that is my own fault I suppose. Anyway, I went the wrong way at first and turned around, but when I backtracked to the right part of the beach I found one almost right away. I still can’t believe my luck. It is this little tiny thing that hardly fills my palm. It is just so small, but perfect. I don't know if it will hatch on its own, but I’ll help it if I need to. I will not let a life slip away if I can help it.
I've seen this girl around the Weyr since I got here, but I have never had the courage to talk to her. Again why I’m so lonely, I just will not take the first step to talk to anyone and become friends. I really need to work on that. Back to the point. I talked to her today. It was just after I'd found my little egg and she came down onto the beach. She is so small, and frail. I’m actually sort of worried about her health. I wonder if she’s always been like this? When she came to the sand she fell to her knees and had to catch her breath. I was worried that she might pass out from heat stroke or something from the way she was breathing, so I offered her some water because I had my water skin on me. I didn't want to seem rude, or like I was trying to poach her possible find or anything, so I didn't want to hang too close. She didn’t seem to want or need my company anyway, I mean she was talking to someone when I came up and someone else was trying to get her attention while she had some water. She thanked me and everything so I didn’t really run away I just sorta backed off, I had no idea what to do really, and I wanted to watch the other searchers so I hung around. Ashmere, that’s her name, I caught it when someone else said it. She apologized for calming up after the drink, she didn’t need to though, I understand she had other things on her mind.
A white dragon, I didn’t catch her or her riders name, landed on the beach and uncovered the rest of the eggs, throwing sand all over the place. Ashmere stood, because she had been digging in the sand, but she fell away and started sobbing. She was all but falling over herself to get away from the pair and my heart went out to her. She wasn't afraid but upset I think anyway, she didn’t look afraid, but more. . . Sad I think. When she fell away I had to catch her , she's so frail looking, falling wouldn’t feel good with no meat or fat to soften the landing. Even if we were standing on the sand. So I jumped forward to catch her from falling and the looks the others gave her made me so... angry. I don't even know her and I got so angry that they were not supportive of her. They should be supportive of one of their own. Especially that boy who she was talking with, the one that is in the same craft with. HE should have been supportive. I wonder about Ashmere and I have for a while. I am going to try and make the effort to talk to her again soon. She said she was a former harper but is a wherhandler apprentice now, so I guess she is older than me. Not that that bothers me or anything. Someone, I didn’t catch his name, commented on her size and she blushed, I thought it was sorta cute.
Anyway, I think she flirted with me, a little maybe? If that is what she was doing, I liked it, like a lot. She's beautiful, and I don't know I want to make sure she's safe. I can't help it. She is tiny and usually I like more to hold onto, but she admitted that she knew she was tiny and is trying to meat herself out. Which is good not only because it’s not healthy being that small to start with, but also because she’s a wherhandler and well, from what I’ve heard, where’s are mean. Alas, I need to go off and find a pot of sand someplace to keep my new egg warm until it hatches. Despite being so tiny holding it like I am isn't going to cut it for long. I honestly don’t even know if it’s warm enough.
