The Libra had, in her opinion, been a bad girl. In Gaia, in Barton Town, Lemon Fest was going on. It was an annual event where any chef worth his or her salt came to sell their wares. She had been looking forward to it.
Of course, when she left the Flyteria Glades that day, she didn't intend to pay for a single thing. She wasn't a thief. But she was cute. She would run up to every booth and give the employees her patented, "Please? Just one wouldn't hurt, right? Just one?" look. With a non-verbal promise of, "You can rub my belly, pet behind my ears, and anything you'd like.", to seal the deal. Then, one became one more and another and another, 'til she got her fill.
First, for breakfast, she had piles of buttermilk pancakes made with lemon zest & topped with lemon curd and crepes stuffed with mascarpone and lemon curd with freshly made lemonade to wash it all down with.
In between meals, she feasted on free samples pilfered from festival goers, which she got by gazing at them longingly with her big, purple eyes and wagging her tail.
After that, she had tiger shrimp glazed with lemon sauce and a glass of ice cold water with lemon wedges floating around in it for lunch.
Finally, she had dessert. There was lemon meringue pie, lemon bars with cream cheese frosting, lemon chiffon cake, lemon Italian ice, lemon sorbet, lemon sherbet, and lemon ice cream with doughy bits.
When she came back to Feirion, she was - once again, in her opinion - far too stuffed to go home, so she headed to Illumision Fields instead to walk it off, while she did some star gazing.
In her mouth, she was carrying a durable paper bag with a lemon printed in front of it. It was filled with leftovers from the festival. There were salmon filets topped with lemon slices so thin that she could see the meat through the rinds - they were still warm too - lemon cheesecake, and a citrus soda that was superior to any she had sampled before.
After she was done walking, she set the bag down, and laid down on her back. Then, she looked up at the stars. It was so easy to see them against the clear, dark sky. She tried to identify constellations and remember the stories behind them.

The commotion of the Gaians, especially those Bartons, recently ruined his entire weekly plan, though subject to change at every passing second. They hustled and bustled about without a care, filling the air with sweet, spicy, sour and even pungent smells of the famed yellow citrus. Why wasn't the lime as popular? It looked the same except for size and colour, right? This was something that Gliese could just not figure out. Alas, whenever he departed to the land of the Gaians, he just couldn't decide what to see and where to go. He kind of blends into the shadows of the colourful shoes on busy feet. He couldn't even squeeze in a 'pardon me' or even a 'might you be so kind to spare a bit?' into a conversation.
With the events that go on in the other world aside, Gliese found his paws taking him into darkness; only illuminated by the twinkle of stars and the reflection of the sun's rays on the moon. The night was young. Well actually, night was pretty old in the Illumision fields. The wind, although warm, still made Gliese wrap his face into his fleece scarf.
In his mouth, although pretty much covered up, held his blue and green weaved baskets. Inside was bits of plants found in Barton Town and the glades. Flowers from the gardens kept by the city (for a bit of home decoration in his little home in the Flyterion Glades), a few bread scraps from a bakery closing up for the night and even some fresh “spring water” in a plastic bottle that a human left on top of a garbage can, perfectly unopened. Perhaps they didn’t want to carry it around all night. Regardless, if it's safe water and easily transportable, Gliese couldn't pass up that kind of offer.
Gliese wandered back and forth in the Illumision fields with his dinner getting less and less appealing by the second. He muttered to himself indecisively with the basket in his mouth. "Should I eat here?" He questioned to himself. "Or maybe by the river? No wait, by the tree." He was almost inaudible if it weren't for his paws crushing fallen leaves on the glade floor.

The Libra didn't so much hear the fellow Spica as she did see him. While it wasn't easy to see with just moonlight and glowing flowers to light the way, the horizon was low and there were few tall things to obstruct her view. His silhouette stuck out like a lime in a bunch of lemons.
She sat up to get a better look. She couldn't tell what he was trying to do. He was going back and forth with a basket in his mouth. Does he need help or something? Should I offer my services? That'd be the neiborly thing to do. I might as well... She took a deep breath and shouted to make sure her voice could be heard over the wind, "Good evening! I don't know if I can help you, but I will if I can. If you want, then you can take a seat over here next to me. We can talk it over dinner or something."

Gliese was sweating more by the second. Mostly because of his nervous pacing and because of his scarf wrapped up to his nose. "Should I just go home...?" He questioned himself quietly under his breath. His ears twitched as a sound wave kissed his eardrums. Was it the wind? It sounded slightly different than a cool summer breeze. He strained his ears to catch another wave.
A voice. in the distance? Gliese nearly had a heart attack from the sudden voice calling to him. He put down his basket on the ground and pushed his scarf to be only around his neck tuff. "Are you... talking to me?" He asked a bit louder to the gladier who called out. There didn't seem to any other gladier in the fields. He picked up his basket and followed the dimly illuminated field floor to where the other Gladier was calling from. In that direction, a faint smell of... lemons? He picked up the pace before he decided to speak again. "Hello...? I haven't had dinner yet, so sure?" He replied with a high tone at the end of his words.

The Libra stood up on all fours, so he could get a better look at her. She didn't notice his shocked reaction before. "Yes, I'm talking to you. The handsome one carrying around a basket." Did he actually ever need help? Now that I hear him talk, it sounds like he might be like this normally. Or maybe he is just the shy type?
She also wasn't used to being asked so many questions by someone her age. At least, she thought they were questions. They sounded like them, anyway, but she couldn't think of how to answer "Hello...?" or "..sure?", so she tackled them as if they were rhetorical. That made it easier for her.
The Libra sat back down and gestured to her bag. "I have way too much. You can have whatever you want in there. As they say, sharing is caring." After that, she pulled out a fillet - she didn't want it to get cold - but didn't eat it, yet, because she didn't want to talk with her mouth full. "Oh, do you need help with anything, by the way? It looked like you were having some trouble there."

Gliese blinked his sea green eyes, hoping they'd get used to the dim lighting quickly. He stepped a few paw steps forward until he was close enough to see. He saw a pair of amethyst purple eyes staring back at him. At the sound of her words, he tucked his blushing face into his scarf. He was neither the most handsome spica on the block nor was he used to being called handsome. He said a soft "Thanks" from his scarf.
As this girl's eye's wandered to her paper bag, his eyes did too. A soft smile creeped up on his face as the scent of fresh lemon drifted to his nose. After putting his basket down on the floor, he lifted the lid with his mouth, poked a paw into his basket and pulled out the bottle of water. (it was the more appealing half of his dinner) "I have a bit of dinner here too? Though it's not as lavish as your lemon goodies." He said with a shy chuckle.
He pushed his scarf from his face with a free paw and a shake of his head to reply to her question without hindering his voice. "No, wait. Maybe. On second thought no." He mumbled under his breath, but finally gave in. "Yes. Kind of. I'm just looking for a place to enjoy dinner. If you don't mind me asking, would you care to have me for dinner?"

The Libra wasn't sure why he was saying thanks. Was it because she was talking to him? She would've felt incredibly awkward if she didn't say anything at all. Or because she gave him a compliment? She was stating what she thought was a matter of fact. He didn't want her to say he was ugly, now, did he? No, she certainly wouldn't do that. That would be a blatant lie. Or because she was offering to share her food or help him? She was just doing what she'd like to be done for her.
Whatever the reason was, she was glad he was being polite. "You're welcome!"
The Libra smiled when she heard what was up. She was glad it was a simple problem like that. She didn't hesitate to answer his question. "I don't mind at all. It's a pleasure making your acquaintance..." Her voice trailed off when she realized she had no idea what to call him other than what she had said earlier. "If you don't mind me asking, what should I call you? It'll be awkward to keep calling you 'the one with the scarf', after all. You can just call me The Libra."

He smiled at her response of you're welcome. At least it was less awkward now that he's started talking. It'd be bad if he ended up sitting in silence with this female Spica all evening. Honestly, what a great way to make a first impression, right? This girl seemed like an easy enough Gladier to make friends with. And she didn't seem to mind his questions; at least, she didn't vocally express his questions were getting on her nerves.
"Gliese." He said softly to her question. "Though you can call me whatever suits your fancy?" No one's ever given him a nickname before, so he didn't really know how to shorten his name if need be. "Libra? What a pretty name." He said, the last part as an actual statement rather than a question.
"So... Where do you want to enjoy dinner?" He questioned with a smile as he pushed his hair to one side on his shoulder. With the conversation rolling and another gladier nearby, he began to feel warmer and a bit safer than being alone.

The Libra blushed when he had said "pretty". He knew he meant her name, but still, she liked it. She smiled and said, "Thanks, Gliese." It was all she could think of to say.
She never thought her name sounded all that pretty. She even thought her parents were a bit lazy for naming her that. She remembered how she'd look up at the night sky and try to find her namesake. While she saw how someone could think it looked like scales, she thought it looked more like one of those windmill-shaped cookies, spekulatius, instead. But now, she was glad that her name was The Libra and not The Spekulatius.
While The Libra initially thought he was the shy type, now, she thought he was more indecisive than shy. She didn't fault him there, because she knew she, herself, was indecisive too. "Since we're both here already, how about here? I think the view is great too. There's nothing to block the stars."
She pushed the bag in between them, so they could both easily reach it. "I'm not sure what all you brought, but really, like I said before, feel free to anything of mine. ...And you wouldn't mind if I had a sip of your water, would you?"
After that, she began digging into the fillet.

He just gave another soft smile at her little thanks and tiny blush. She should be prod of her name. At least it was more stright-forward than his own. Not many people know that the little star of Gliese is but a star in the constallation of Libra. It kind of made him feel like he could really be close friends with this girl from the loose connection in just their names.
"Sure" He agreed without thinking twice. Or even once. A second after agreeing verbally did he process her words, and she was right indeed. The night sky was beautiful and that spot was pretty convenient. He moved his basket towards where The Libra sat down her paper bag, then sat down on the side unoccupied by her.
"I have some bread and water?" He removed the small tarp from the top of his basket and pulled out a flaky croissant and the bottle of water. "Go for it!" He pushed the water towards her. "Dinner's just not complete without a refreshing drink?" To Gliese, water had it's own taste, although hard to describe with the common adjectives used for tastes.
"These aren't for eating, but you can have them." He said as he pulled out the flowers he picked up in Barton Town. "It's not much, but hopefully enough of a thanks for keeping me company?" He said as he placed one at her paw and fillet. He took a bite out of his croissant as the Libra ate her fish.

The Libra was glad he was smiling. She didn't know all the reasons why, but she had been a bit worried before, so that had put her at ease. It looked like today was going to be a sweet night.
"Yes, you can say that again. And as far as drink's go, I like how water goes with everything." After she was done eating the salmon, she downed some water with a hearty "glug." As inelegant as it sounded, she thought water tasted like how clean would if it had a taste.
"Thanks so much!" When she leaned in to get a better look at the flower, she got a hint of its sweet scent. "It smells lovely. I wish I had something to give you in return." After that, she starting racking her brain for ideas. I already gave him food. The accessories would just be terribly disproportionate. Not to mention inappropriate. Think, think, think... Finally, the lightbulb lit up over her head. "Ooh, I got an idea! I don't know how well you fly, but after dinner's over, I want show you something."

Gliese bit his croissant happily as he sipped some water after The Libra had taken finished drinking. Croissants weren't like normal sliced bread which became quite difficult to eat when soaked in water. It was a good taste though; water and croissant together.
"Water has it's own character?" He didn't know how to word it. It tasted like nothing but yet, it still had a taste. Not salty nor sweet, but with it's own flavour. "It does go with everything though." He agreed with her. It was a better feeling than downing sugary juice or soda. And it didn't sting his nose as carbonated drinks do.
"It's nothing." He said brushing off her wish of returning the favour. Those flowers were quite common in the Barton, so she could have walked by some on her adventures to Lemon Fest. "As long as you're happy it's alright?" He gave a soft laugh before finishing off his croissant and the remaining water.
"I'd like to think that i'm at least alright in flying." Truth be told, he never really got anywhere from flying because he'd get so lost that he ended up where he started. And by the time he was back in the beginning, it was already too late to head off again. "But sure. After a bit of digesting, we can take flight?" He began packing away all the garbage into his basket, including the water bottle and the remains of her paper bag. "Unless you want to keep this?" He asked her as he folded and flattened it within his paws.

"That's a good attitude to have. Thanks again." The Libra didn't want to lose her flower, so she tied it up in her hair.
"Oh, no, that's fine. Please toss it. I don't have any use for it now that it's empty."
Now that she was done eating, she got up, arched her back with her hindquarters in the air, stretched, and yawn. Time was beginning to take her toll on her, but she didn't want to go to bed, yet.
"That's good to hear." Then, she stood up and began surveying the wind direction, because she knew she'd end up dive-bombing if she flew against it.

Gliese nodded at her words to throw the bag out. He folded it neatly and put it into his basket. He'd have to remember to throw it out the next time he was in Barton Town. He placed the lid tightly back on the basket and locked it in with a tight push and a click of a little tab. He only had two of these baskets, and it would be really sad if one of them lost the lid. That and because he didn't know where to find another lid that fits perfectly and matches the colour scheme.
He followed The Libra's movements as he stood on all fours and put his basket slung over his neck to the shoulder on the other side. "I'm ready when you are?" He said softly, not to disturb her but still give her a little heads up that he was prepared to go.
He kind of wondered where they would be going in the little hours of the night. It slipped his mind it was always nighttime in this glade. He didn't bother asking because they were going to see it anyways. Hopefully it would be a safe flight. He didn't want to get lost from his new friend so soon.
