Nicknames: Deni (she only ever gives out this name, never her full name)

Eye Color: Cyan blue
Hair Color: Medium dark violet
Hair length and style: Long and mildly wavy
Skin tone: Medium-dark (like dark beach tan)
Body build: Athletic
Fashion: Something sort of along the lines of Steampunk fashion (like this dress) and this dress combined in some manner. Darker colors would be most commonly found on her!
Extra: Has the tail of a snow leopard while in human form as well as little feline ears.
Biography: Being the only daughter of a wealthy family, there was a lot riding on her shoulders. Her father wanted her to excel at everything she did and be his prodigy daughter. The fact that she had much stronger ability with her magic than he himself had only made this desire stronger. Deni, however, did not agree. She did not want to be her father's little puppet daughter. She had her own wants and wishes. And foremost, she wanted to actually enjoy being a kid. Not be pampered endlessly, shown off like a prized possession, acting like a doll to showcase for future family alliances. Basically, she hated living in a wealthy family.
When old enough, Deni enrolled in Makai Academy to begin studies as a witchling. She chose to live on campus instead of back home in Lumena. Her father was not pleased by this, but the high marks and praises from her teachers was an alright reward for this choice. Little did he know that Deni didn't plan on coming back home after her time at Makai. But she did want to succeed and learn all that she could in order to be a good witch. Her ability to change shapes caused some strains in keeping friends, as she seemed to always find the ones that were jealous of her ability to shift into a snow leopard. Really, it was just her bad luck in picking 'friends'. Any difficulties she may have had were dealt with on her own as finding a Mononoke that had some years of experience on them was hard to come back at the Academy. Often times she found people giving her curious looks as this bit of magic developed, not that she could blame them! Ears and a tail tend to make almost anyone have that 'I want to fluff your ears and tail' expression about them. Her father, too, was exceptionally proud of this latest news. Although he was a little dismayed when he learned that Deni began to retain a tail and ears while in human form - though he was quite ecstatic that she could shift forms - as her magic grew stronger in all levels. Nor was he pleased that she seemed inclined to focus on shadow manipulation. There were much more suitable magic concentrations then shady abilities like playing with shadows!
As Deni further excelled in the art of shape-shifting and shadow manipulation, her relationship with her father and the rest of her family became strained. She was clearly not being a good daughter and rebelling against her family's wishes! Her presence was demanded back at home the instant she graduated from the Academy. They didn't care about what she wanted. Only what having such a prodigy daughter could mean for their family. Too bad they didn't take into account her stubborn will to do what she wanted.
It was about this time that she met, through some random means of fate, a Reaper. Fascinated by them and the strong wills to do what they were best at captured her interest like a moth to light. Deni spent a good portion of the day talking with the Reaper and learning about them. And when she finally graduated from the Academy, instead of going home as was demanded of her, she disappeared. Or more accurately never spoke with her family again found herself at Poena Privus Castle Ruins. Home of the Reaper Organization. There, she has trained and honed her skills as a Reaper as well as her shape-shifting abilities.
Deni has become very independent with a strong stubborn will to do what she wants with her life. Not what someone else wants for their own ambitions. Having had to constantly battle her family's will verses her own, Deni learned how to suffer silently behind a smile, internalizing her feelings. She does not like tell anyone about her problems, only doing so reluctantly and only with someone she knows. She tries not to be secretive, but does not like to share much about herself with another. Where once she wasn't very trusting, always believing someone had a hidden agenda, she is now more willing to give someone a chance. Deni has begun to understand that it was her family that caused her to put shields up (in the metaphysical sense) tightly around herself. She can be very wary around strangers and new people she meets, tending to be on the quiet side at first. However, once she does warm up to you you'll discover she can be pretty nice and a little spunky. Only someone she really trusts will her guard drop and the spunky woman she really is slip out. The one that cares for others and will be surprisingly loyal. But there are too few people she really trusts that much and the sweeter side of her tends to remain hidden in shadow. Although she is working hard to remedy this and very much appreciates those that are patient with her.
Likes: Coffee. Favorite meal is a strawberry milkshake with a burger and fries. Sketching during free time when alone. Rain.
Dislikes: Being controlled. Stuck up and wealthy people. Her family. Glitter (omg hate the shiny crap! D< )! Overly sweet things.

☽ The Magic_______________________________________Ability Concentration/Theme: Shadow manipulation is her strong point. Also has some ability with lightning elemental usage.
Shadow Manipulation // Some elemental usage: Through the manipulation of shadows, she is able to cloak herself in them to hide her form from any prying eyes or an opponent she is facing. When cloaked in shadows, her her body becomes 'invisible' to the beholder and her scent becomes almost too faint to catch. However, this highly depends on the amount of shadows in the vicinity, or rather how much light there is. In a room full of bright lights, she would not be able to successfully hide within shadows. However, outside with only the moonlight providing any measure of light to see by, she has shadows all around to manipulate to her will. This ability has helped her to become very talented in the art of stealth.
Along with her ability to use shadows to cloak herself, she is also able to use lightning elemental magic. Her strength lies in her shadow manipulation however. But her ability to use lightning magic is a close second. Of this ability, her most successful usage of it is by wrapping lightning around the blade of her scythe. When attacking an opponent with a lightning clad blade, it sends a shock through her opponent that may momentarily stun them for a few seconds at most. Seconds that could determine the outcome of a battle some of the time. She is also able to 'throw' a lightning bolt at an opponent. It is draining to do this, requiring a lot of concentration, and at most, she is able to accomplish this ability twice in one battle, needing at least several hours to recover before attempting it again. Wrapping her blade in lightning, though, does not drain her however.

From what I learned from Omie, in this type of society, they are liked and well praised. I guess they'd be more jealous than unable to relate :3
I'm also not sure if this fits: "Any difficulties she may have had were dealt with on her own as there were no other Mononoke for Deni to turn to."
There are other Mononoke, few, but I'm pretty sure there are others o.o Though I would wait for Omie to see if she has any thoughts on the ration of Mononoke to normal.

Same thing with the first part. Mononoke is a good thing :3 It also clashes with her family demanding her back: if they didn't like the fact that she could shape-shift as well as her magic, why would they want her back? And you said the relationship was strained...

I don't understand this part... Her family made her suffer, but she was finally doing what she wanted, so why couldn't she smile?

I personally feel that, although it may look more like a flaw, she would of made people earn her trust before and became more trusting now, since she has her life in her hands now. You can say it's hard to get her trust completely, but she wouldn't mind letting down a few barriers since her father isn't in control? :3
I'm also unsure if she's able to have two abilities she specializes in because well, one ability is supposed to be 'her thing'. Reading through Omie's stuff before, witches can use other magic besides their specialties, but when reading this, it feels like she has two specialties, not just one :3

*glee* Thank you very much for critiquing my quest <33
I have gone through and hopefully changed things to fit better with how Mononke are regarded as well as make things more clear (at least I hope so OTL ). I'm hoping that I made it sound more like her father was only dismayed with the ears and tail appearing when she was human. He actually has no problem with her shifting and being a Mononoke! Just that he thinks the tail and ears mar his ideal image he expects her to uphold - something like a classy and ladylike lady. I hope it all makes sense xD
And I honestly have no idea on the magic either < <;; If I need to change it, I can easily reduce it down to just the shadow manipulation!
