West peered up at the monster dorms, wondering who was still awake at this hour. Someone was, several someones in fact, judging by the number of lights that remained visible from the ground. He hoped his intended target had gone to sleep long ago.
At his side, Master sat grooming her paws. Every time her tongue swiped across her fiery fur, her saliva hissed as it rapidly evaporated.
"I'm goin' in."
Master glared up at him.
"Yeah. Backatcha." The scareon didn't approve. West didn't care.
He had no idea how he was going to infiltrate the tatzel's room, nor any clue where it actually was, but he hoped determination would get him far tonight. He patted his belt. Secured there were a number of pairs of wicked-looking scissors in various sizes, as well as a flask of sloshy liquid. West nodded.
Operation: Payback was underway.

Like every morning and night at the farm, Levi took to her routine chores. Now that she was back in monster dorm, she was thoroughly tickled pink about how well her vines had done during her brief absence. Atta critter, Read. She suspected her clever lepus guide had been doing all the agricultural chores; he was just that smart. The ghoul rubbed at a fuzzy green ear before taking up the ol' watering can.
Tending to the candy corn vines that riddled every corner of the space and grooming any minis that needed brushing, the tatzel whistled a tune. She was becoming accustomed to not feeling embarrassment about her dancing, so the wriggles now and then were just a bit more... practiced. It wasn't so much an involuntary twitch anymore but a frill in her steps.
Popcorn, got 'nuff food fer the night? Her candy corgon's urn was wide open with the lid hanging back. Levi placed a couple of new kernels straight from the vine onto where a pile of ash now laid in front of Popcorn within the urn. The black mini licked up the ashes before releasing a small flicker of a flame to burn down the new and appetizing bedtime treats it received.
A trail of white smoke lifted and vented out through the open crack of the tatzel's dorm room once again as it often did. Her door even remained open at night just as it did in the day. Never having any reason for it to be closed before, she figured it was a way of keeping potential guests out. Who knows when someone might need a cup of candy corn juice? The smoke dissipated in the hallway of the third floor, filling the space with a sugary smell that was characteristic of the tatzel and her family's treasured crop.

Tactics. West needed them. Normally he just ran in and smacked the crap out of his opponents, but that had proven ineffective against this particular ghoul. It had proven ineffective against most ghouls, actually. It was clear that besting them was going to require stealth and planning, two things West was sure he was exhibiting right now. He was wearing black and everything. Sadly, he wasn't really in possession of those qualities at all.
First of all, he had no idea where Levi's room was. He had assumed there would be some sort of list of students and their room numbers around, but if the monster dorms had one, he hadn't seen it on the way in.
Also, there was the matter of opening her door once he managed to find her room. West hadn't brought a lockpick, but he did have a discredit card with him. He hoped the flimsy piece of plastic would do the job.
He decided to start high in the building and work his way down, so that if anyone saw fit to chase him out, he could run to ground level rather than up to the roof. His wings were always a viable getaway option, but he didn't want to have to use them if they weren't required.
After a short time spent hunting around, he turned a corner and stopped suddenly. What was that smell? It smelled like her. Thankfully, at a higher concentration it was quite a nice odor instead of one that reminded him of a stinky cheater. West inched down the hall until he found the door exuding the strongest smell and stopped in front of it.

Nodding in approval of all her nightly deeds being done, the tatzel took to the washroom and a faucet ran briefly. There was some rustling and brushing before Levi reappeared, worn clothes placed in the hamper and a new pair of shorts and a tank top were on. Sticking a finger into the elastic hair takes of her pigtails, the ghoul made her way up the steps to the higher point of her room where her bed was and gave shook it out.
Folding over the heavy looking fur cover, she sat down on the side of the bed but didn't lay down just yet. ...C'mere, Sweets!
She called out into her room for the one mini she always had to worry about at night time- her Candy Corn Treat, Sweets. The tiny critter had been known to nuzzle up to her and hide in her sheets or under her pillow. The last thing the ghoul wanted was to crush the treat as she slept, so she made sure to know the whereabouts of Sweets before allowing herself to drift off. Levi was a mover in her sleep. Or so she'd been told by kin. Indeed, the treat poked out from within her closet and fluttered over to her, landing on the elongated wooden window sill and curling there. Atta critter... She stroked its fuzzy mane before nestling into her own furry long-haired cover. Initially curled up with her back to the door, facing the window, it didn't take long before she was down for the count.
---------------------------------
She was back home. The smell of her Ma's stew wakes her up and there's some strange muttering going on downstairs in the kitchen. Multiple voices are heard and her room seemed strangely brighter than usual. Something lit up the space from the window. She couldn't feel her feet just then, but knew she was walking over to the window to peer outside-
Fire
FIRE.
In a short distance, she saw the crops burning. She was stuck watching for what seemed like ages. She wanted to move- to stop it from happening, but again, she couldn't feel her legs. She was literally stuck there. A familiar voice then called out her name and she felt herself being pulled. Who was it? It was her Pa. "Pa what-" Down the stairs and into the kitchen, she saw her family. Ma, Gran, Cousin Enis, Uncle Vern... they had smiles on their faces. A cake was on the table, and the door outside was wide open. Townspeople peered in and smiled at her as well saying "Congratulations, Levis! yeeehaaww! whoopee!"
What?
--------
She rustled a bit and spoke quietly into the room. What'reya'll...

The discredit card slipped through West's fingers as he tried to jam it in the space between the door and its frame. "Jackdammit," he muttered. This was getting him nowhere. He yanked off his incredibly stealthy black gloves and shoved them into his belt next to one of the pairs of scissors. He pushed the discredit card back into the side of the door and jiggled it around. Nothing.
What was he supposed to do now? West was honestly surprised that she wasn't out here whining about how much noise he was making yet. He made a low, frustrated sound, then grabbed the doorknob and rattled it for good measure. If he was going to get caught, he was at least going to irritate her fir--
The door swung open.
Levi didn't lock her door.
For a moment, West's face froze. Was this some sort of trap? Who didn't lock their dorm room door at night? He didn't move for a full two minutes, his hand motionless on the knob. Eventually curiosity and boredom got the better of him. He pushed the door gently and stepped inside.
His eyes adjusted to the darkness much more slowly than the tatzel's probably would have, but it wasn't very much longer before he was looking around the room with unabashed curiosity. So this was the enemy's lair...

The ghoul was still in a deep sleep. Popcorn, with a full belly, also drifted off to sleep in it's urn. The wrath demon's entry had gone unnoticed. The candy corn treat, the lightest sleeper of them all (one too many close calls with being crushed by a sleeping tatzel), turned over and sprawled out.
-------------------------------------------
"It's our first youngin' ta be schooling' with tha big wigs. Let's give 'er a cheer!" her Uncle started. It was like her day before leaving home for Amityville; nearly the whole town was there in some form. Her Ma, Pa, Gran and Uncle were in their smaller forms like herself. She was watching it all happen with some sort of knowing that this had already happened. As the townspeople cheered outside and inside the doorway, Levi felt herself drift towards the cake and blow out the single candle on top. There was a smile on her face- she could tell as her family looked at her and smiled right back. Pride.
That turn of her back to the door had apparently changed something in the scene- when she turned back to smile at the townspeople, everything was quiet. The doorway was empty now, and the light outside was from moonlight. Somewhere in a distance, she heard music coming from the streets.
"What's happeni-"
Nope. Turning back to ask her family, she realized they were gone too. All that was left was the music outside. This was familiar as well... Slowly, each foot crept toward the open doorway. Peering out into the street, all she saw at one end was a bonfire. Blackened figures danced around it and hissing sizzled through the air with the playing of banjos.
----------------------------------------------------------
A low hissss vented from between her teeth.

The demon turned his head sharply in response to the hiss. He stopped moving yet again, convinced his dubious cover was blown. When neither Levi nor her pets made a sound for another stretch of time, West deemed it safe to continue. He felt his way to the nearest wall, then continued on until he reached the closet. West turned the knob and pulled open the door with the ghost of a grin. Jackpot.
His hand jutted out toward the clothes hanging there almost of its own volition, so anxious was the boil to destroy something of hers. Twice she had bested him. There would not be a third time. He pushed a couple of pale soft things aside before his hand brushed a different kind of fabric. West squinted, peering at what he had uncovered. When he realized what it was, he almost gasped.
The dress. The dress she had worn to prom. It was an excellent place to start.
He gently tugged the garment from its hanger, detaching his largest pair of scissors from his belt with his free hand. West wasted no time, stabbing them into the dress, his grin widening as he heard the fabric tear. He cut circles, spirals, strips, squares, even the lopsided shape of a man out of the dress, letting the pieces fall to the floor as he went. When he was done with that, he reached out and grabbed something new. All the clothes. ALL THE CLOTHES! He would leave her with nothing! Levi would have to walk the halls of Amityville naked...
He stopped, his smile fading to an expression of pukey disgust. Blech. Naked. Maybe he would leave her with a parka or something.

The invader didn't stir the owner of this room, but a certain candy corn treat did arise to the sound of snipping. Sweets ruffled a wing sleepily blinking towards where the sound was coming from. OH! A VISITOR? It carefully flew up high enough as to avoid any kicks from it's master's possible movements. Like it did with Ash when she'd wandered into Levi's room randomly, the fluffy treat fluttered with tiny wings towards the wrath demon eagerly. The treat would greet the guest when its master couldn't and be rewarded with cuddles, no doubt. A meek squeak escaped the flying fluffball as it landed and curled...
right...
on...
...west's head.
Nuzzling in its perch between the boil's horns, it squeaked again in greeting. Notice me notice me! HELLO! M-Maybe I can have pets now?! HI THERE! Your fur is soft! What are you playing with? Of course, all this actually sounded like was "squeak squeak squeeeak~!" Evidently, Sweets was not to be trusted guarding anything ever.
The tatzel stirred for a moment, legs now bending at the knees. Was she getting up? No.
_____________________
She'd meant to walk towards the bonfire. Instead, she found her feet taking her away from it toward the opposite end of the street. It was like she couldn't control her movements for some reason this time around. In her mind, the ghoul thought of wanting to dance, but at the same time... she was deeply saddened by the thought of dancing. Can't. Won't.
Instead, she stopped before a group of boils she didn't know to be from around town. Then again, boils her age wouldn't have tiny forms like herself ... "What're all 'ya pumpkins wantin'?!" They didn't look friendly and simply chuckled at her question. She knew how to harden herself in this sort of situation. They were testing her again. Was it because she wouldn't dance? They'd try to make her?
A challenge.
She cracked her knuckles as they circled her ...at least a good five of them. Crouching slightly and snarling at them, her fingers fanned out like claws. "C'mon then! Ain't got all night, ya yella bunch 'a slugsters!" They indeed then attacked and she ducked to whip her tail around at them. Then came what seemed like endless kicks, punches and cracking limbs. Something in the ghoul snapped. Even for her, overseeing the scenario in her mind, the extreme moves in this fight were truly fueled by something burning in her gut.
-------------------------------------
Rolling onto her front, the ghoul stretched out her arms in front of her with hands looking something like a clutch on a skull. Her knees remained apart and bent which kept her lower half elevated. Her tail whipped around, knocking one of her potted plants and a stack of books over. The not-so-motionless sleeping ghoul bared her teeth and snarled.

West was too busy shoving his dress-demolishing scissors back into his belt to notice the treat's approach. He grunted slightly in surprise as he felt the odd, warm weight of the creature settle on his head. He wanted to swat at it, but he figured that would only cause its squeaking to get louder.
"Shuttup!" he hissed. The boil held still again, hoping the animal would grow bored of him sooner rather than later, but when that didn't seem likely to happen any time soon, he looked down at the shirt in his hands. Pinking shears. That's what it needed. He twined his fingers through the holes in his next chosen pair of scissors' handle and lifted them free of his belt. On the way past, they caught on the giant dress demolishers, dragging them out as well. They clattered noisily to the floor a split second before Levi's tail went on its rampage, and this time West did gasp.
"s**t." It was time to go. True, he had only managed to ruin one hopefully precious article of clothing, but it would have to be enough. He reached up and pat at Sweets in an attempt to get the treat to leave on its own. "Get off me," he whispered.

Sweets was comfy and wasn't expecting much other than some snuggles. Closing its eyes, it churred happily at the comforting pets to come. The difference here? West's pat would prove much more rougher than Ash's or even Levi's.
The treat didn't wake its master, however. What did wake her was Popcorn. The somewhat bloated corgon was startled by a fleeing treat latching onto it. As soon as those green glowing eyes opened wide to see West there in its domain, a shrill SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEE sounded. A tiny flametoarch was going off from the mini's open mouth, almost like a siren and security light.
---------------------
They were all going down. These were not the usual ol' country boils she fought but they weren't going to teach her any lessons. They snarled back at her now with sour faces, bruised and generally banged up. If they wanted to scream, she'd do it right back. Opening her mouth to sound another battle cry, Levi found something odd happening.
It wasn't her screaming. This was something more high-pitched and untatzel-like. It was a familiar sound and didn't appear to be coming from anything or anyone around her. What was this sound?!
Her corgon. Where was Popcorn? WHERE WAS-
-------------------------
Her eyes flashed open and ears stood straight in attention. POPCOOOORN~!!! She pulled herself up and knelt on her bed staring through the darkness at the resting place of her candy corgon. It was a worried call of concern rather than a scolding. In her mind, those boils might have done something to Popcorn that she didn't know about... and they'd pay!
No. This wasn't the dream anymore.
Popcorn saw Levi arise and halted the alarm, fluttering over to the bed and glaring at the enemy.
Levi saw a figure there in the darkness and it took no more than a split second to realize who it was. Before he could make a break for it, she leaped from her bed over to the doorway in no time at all. This was her domain and dark or not, she knew the general space well enough to judge where her ceiling was (higher than his demon dorm room, for sure) and where the walls were. Plus, the hint of light from the doorway allowed her to see the intruder that much more clearly.
Her tail flung the door shut immediately. If he wanted to get out, he'd have to get by her first. Crossing her arms still somewhat thinking in terms of the dream, she mixed the two scenes together. Ya'll were gonna git me at home, eh boil? What's in yer head?!
Translation: You're a fool.

It seemed at first that he was going to be stuck there all night, ineffectually prodding a churring treat until it decided to go back to whatever activities stupid treats engaged in when they weren't churring or sitting on heads. West might have actually been okay with that if he had eventually gotten out of Levi's room undetected, but with all of the noise going on, and... what in the hell was that? He didn't even have a moment to enjoy the absence of his Sweets hat before another of the tatzel's pets started wailing.
She was awake.
West watched the ghoul with reluctant appreciation as she hopped from her bed to the door. He definitely wasn't as annoyed at being caught as he might have been, despite the fact that his carefully constructed break in had now been rendered a failure. She was annoyed, and hopefully would become even more so when she realized what he had done. Getting caught was a fair trade for actually witnessing her anger.
It took him a couple of seconds to decipher what she was spouting at him, during which he stood there expressionless, his fingers clenching and unclenching around the shirt he held. What was in his head? If the fact that he was in her room in the middle of the night hadn't tipped her off, his attire gave off an air of sneakiness, just as hers had when she had shown up in his room uninvited. Speaking of that...
"What's in yours?" he countered, finally fully grasping what she had said to him. "You came t'mine first!" He had originally been content to leave the tricksy screwball alone, or at least refrain from harassing her outside of class, but that was before she had poured ice water all over him in the middle of the night. An act like that required payback, and he was happy to provide some.
"Doesn't matter now anyway," he continued. West spread his arms, proudly showing off his handiwork. He dropped Levi's shirt onto the pieces of her ruined dress. "I won. You. Lost."

There in the darkness, her eyes left the demon boil's form for a moment to shift to the pile on the floor.
Familiar colors there...
It hadn't quite clued in yet; Levi was still shaking off the dream, thinking somehow West was invading her back home. Then with a few more wheels getting into gear, his words brought her back. She'd been to his home? No. To his dorm. She was in her dorm. HE WAS IN HER DORM. Then the gathering of shredded clothes and her open closet became sharply apparent.
Lost? There was no shame in losing a battle one worked hard to fight in. Losing before a battle wasn't her way...and West was talking about payback?! That was why she'd gone to his room!!! Perhaps they weren't so different if this was his train of though...
Then he showboated with the rags falling from his hands like another one of those smart-mouthed boils. He'd called her a cheater and she'd payed him back for it; now he destroyed belongings of hers that she couldn't possibly afford to buy again. Now it was her turn to provide payback again. As the last shred of cloth fell to the floor, a malicious toothy grin perked from her lips. He was a good fighter with a lot of stamina; she knew this much. It wasn't that she was taking him lightly, but a bit of sizing up was part of her playthrough with boils like West.
Listen, boil. Don't know what they'd done been teaching' ya'll 'bout sneakin' ...she crouched in preparation and ever word trickled with impending doom... but yer in ma space now. N' there ain't no escapin' n'less it's through ME!!
Taking a zig zag pattern, she jolted for West. Appearing before him for a moment (a grin widening ear-to-ear) before flickering to one side of him. She stared up at the demon before performing a tail whip in the style of a sweep kick across the back of the boil's knees. Then prepared herself for any needed evasion.

He had entered into this situation well aware that if it ended in a physical altercation, he was likely going to lose. Still, West wasn't content with lying down and taking whatever the ghoul meant to dish out. He growled sharply as she ran toward him, ducking low and grabbing his fallen pair of shears as she got closer. He firmly doubted she would fumble into being stabbed outright, but if he could get in a few swipes, he would consider this time well spent. West raised the scissors, positioning them so that she might run into them when she finally got over here, but then, well, she stopped.
The demon returned her grin with an angry glare, but had time for little else in the way of menacing faces as she expertly swept his feet out from under him. West landed hard on his back with a grunt and rush of air. He propped himself back up onto an elbow almost immediately, his first instinct to appear as though he was prepared to counter anything his opponent might throw at him, even if he was still dazed. Oh, crap. Where had the scissors gone? He felt around for them frantically in the dark, his attention split between finding his weapon and keeping track of the tatzel.

Like it wasn't enough the demon was already floored, Levi's tail carefully but quickly coiled around his legs while he was was busily looking for something. nu-uh-uh...
Then something shiny gleamed in front of West's face. If he felt weight pile onto his midsection, it was definitely a tatzel once again on him as she'd done in the forest before. A replay of past victory seemed fitting. The shiny object she flashed in front of him would also become familiar to the boil. It was the pair of scissors he was looking for. in the sweep, she'd noticed it leave his hand, catching it in hers.
So now West found himself with scissors pointed square between his eyes and ghoul once again proving victorious. Well now, this seems awfully familiar, ain't it? 'N these things... She turned the scissors, causing them to gleam before throwing them at a wall to their side. It -FNK!-ed into the wood and stuck there. If he wanted to get them back, he wasn't going to do it where he was and that was her point. Don't see why ya'll would need ta pull somethin' like that out on me. Boil- if yer gonna fight me, quicken tha pace n' git me with those! She nodded her chin at one of West's hands. A fight between two combatants one-on-one without weapons was always best in her mind. There were so many ways to take someone down, and she knew he knew this. So why hadn't he tried to attack her himself?
... don't tell me yer thinkin' a cheat-fightin' me. West ya ain't dealin' with no cheat. Never was 'n never will be. Don't wanna be fightin' with no cheat neither! She let out a sigh at the pile still in view behind her prey. I'll say this... that's a right nasty job ya did. This seemed to take on a positive tone. However disappointed she was, this showed West had trickery in him and that was something worth merit. Really, she hadn't seen it coming and that was pretty impressive.
Taking a knee, she glared down at him, slightly constricted his legs with her tail. ... now- I'll be getting' on up 'ere. If ya wanna come at me, then let's git this goin'. But none 'a that metal stuff. Gimme what ya got like before. Otherwise...
She rose and leaped backward with the aid of her released tail, standing plainly with her hands tucked behind her back.
...tell me what ya think I ought ta do 'bout that. The clothes ... she just wanted to hear what he had to say for himself.

West was knocked flat by Levi's weight. He squeezed his eyes shut as the back of his head smacked against the floor, and when he opened them again, he found himself confronted by the very pair of scissors he had been searching for. He smirked, sorely tempted to dare her to use them as a weapon and risk detention, or better yet, expulsion. It was almost disappointing when she didn't gouge out one of his eyes. Almost.
He positively seethed when she called him a cheater, and couldn't get up quick enough when she hopped to her feet. Stupid ghoul and her stupid pets. "DON'T YOU EVER--" he shouted, raising his fists for a fraction of a second. He cut himself off and lowered his hands. This wasn't about... He wasn't going to... She would not win.
"I'm sneakin' up on you now," he sneered. "How'd'ya like that?" West began to pace, his dark sneakers shuffling through the bits of her dress. He kicked at one. "An' as fer this? Y'should clean it up." He rushed forward, trying to push past her for the door. He needed to get out of here.
