Gray fingers prodded at the face of his eyephone as Seiji checked the time for at least the 5th time that hour, frowning down at the numbers that flashed up at him. Two twenty-three. The train he was waiting for wasn't due to arrive until two-thirty. he still had another eight minutes. Jack damnit, time needed to move faster. Groaning impatiently, he rubbed human knuckles along his eyes before stuffing phone back in his pocket. Rocking back on his heels as he looked down the rails again for any sign of the train. Shouldn't he be able to see it by now?
It had been twenty seven days since the end of the floresctival. Twenty seven long days and nights since Junko had returned with Momo-chan to the mountains for the majority of the summer holiday. There had been endless phone calls, texts, emails, but it wasn't the same. Not even close. He missed his ghoulfriend...
The wait was killing him. He couldn't stop fidgeting, and he flipped the hood of his sleeveless sweater up, covering long dark hair and the pony tail it was pulled back in. The same style he'd had since prom, only longer. At the distant sound of a whistle he snapped his head around to stare down the tracks, squinting in the afternoon sun at a dark speck approaching from around a bunch of gnarled trees. It was here! About Jack damn time!
Junko had fallen asleep on the train, it was the only reason she hadn't been just constantly texting Seiji giving an update on every second she was aboard. She was so tired. She had been far too excited to see him again to really sleep the night before, tossing and turning and eventually leaving the room to get fresh air and hopefully burn off some of the excess energy with a jog around the clan's home. It hadn't worked. She still had too much excitement in her. It wasn't that she wanted to leave Tomoko, she would be more than happy to stay with her, but she missed Seiji. She missed him so much. She wanted to be with him, to hold him, to bask in his cool touch and listen to his voice against her ear. She wanted to cling to him and never let go. The Mistress had repeatedly wrapped hair around her face in annoyance whenever the ghoul would sigh dreamily and stare out the train window at the quickly passing landscape. Stupid ghoul. But she had quickly fallen asleep, completely missing...well...everything.
It wasn't until there was a voice announcing the next station that she awoke, and even then it was because of Her. "Junko." No answer. "...Junko." She sighed and rolled over on the seat she was laying across. ".......Idiot." Her own hair then proceeded to push against the back of the seat, shoving Junko off it and onto the floor. That woke her. She cried out with surprise as she hit the ground with a thud, glowing green eyes wide and staring up at the ceiling. What the hell just happened?! "Idiot. Wake up. We're here."
...Th..there? They were there?! Junko sat up sharply and immediately pushed herself up to stand again, hair raised with excitement. Her eyes were wide, her heart was racing. They were here. She already had her luggage off the overhead rack and ready to bolt off the train when it eased to a stop, and the moment she saw the doors open she took off. She ran, panting and looking around for sign of her boilfriend. Seiji. Seiji. Where was Seiji. She paused a moment to look down at herself and make sure everything was in order. Her purple fanned kimono, check. The ruffled skirt, check. Purple stockings, check. Her obi? Good, good. Even the pinwheel that had been given to her by Tomoko's younger siblings was okay. All that was left was to find Seiji.
There he was. Junko's heart stopped and she lost her breath before finally releasing it in a loud, happy cry. "SEIJIIIII~!" She called out, raising an arm to get his attention before she ran straight for him, weaving through the other exiting passengers to get to him. Seiji! Seiji! It was Seiji!
The boil was on tenterhooks as he watched the train approaching. Bouncing, ever so gently, on the balls of his feet as the hour or so of waiting caught up to him. No, he hadn't been a pillar of patience, but he'd done his best. Now it was here, she was here; it was taking more self control than was pretty not to just run into the train the instant is stopped to go find her. Human fingers clenched in his pocket, and he had to pull both hands free before he accidentally sliced up the left hand side and his thigh beneath. That would have just been perfect..
With a protesting groan of the brakes the train slowed to a stop, steam hissing from engine as a bell rang out along the length of it. The doors to every car swinging open by men in uniform as they stepped out to assist passengers onto the platform. He watched that growing crowed eagerly, raising up on tip toes to keep his gaze unhindered. Palms pressing into his thighs as he caught a glimpse of dark hair, only to have shoulders slump in disappointment as he realized it wasn't her. Grumbling, he glowered after the older woman as she moved away towards the station. How dare she get his hopes up..
Then he heard it, that utterly familiar voice squealing his name above the bustle of the crowed and he turned automatically to face it. Features brightening embarrassingly as he watched he come pelting towards him with her carry on in hand. "Junko!" Three jogged steps let him meet her half way and he caught her up in his arms to lift her off her feet so he could claim those long missed lips in a long, lingering kiss.
Junko squealed with delight when he called her name, releasing her luggage to throw her arms around him the moment he was holding her. Her legs came up to rest against his hips as well, effectively clinging to her boilfriend and returning the happy kiss. Oh, how she missed this. These kisses, his arms around her, his cool touch. She'd missed him so much! And now she had him all to herself for two weeks, completely forgetting the fact that she was also going to be meeting his parents. Junko pulled from the kiss only to pepper his face in them, purring with delight and finally returning the kisses to claim his lips. A few older passerbies chuckled at the young couple's exuberance, but Junko paid them no mind. Seiji, Seiji. She had her Seiji back. Her Seiji.
"Ugh, I'm going to gag." Leave it to The Mistress to spoil a happy moment. Junko pouted and opened her eyes to glare back toward Her before turning her gaze to Seiji again, keeping her arms around his neck and her legs securely locked around his waist for now.
"Hi." She finally said with a giggle, stealing yet another kiss from his lips. Ohhhh she missed this. She missed this so much.
He let himself melt into that kiss, arms tightening around her, and the rest of the sleepy little village around them faded away into oblivion. He had missed her so much, too much. Never again. She was never going away from him ever again. As the kiss broke so she could pepper his face with gentle, excited pecks he laughed, brows furrowing as he shut his eyes, only to twitch upward happily as she reclaimed his lips. The older folks wandering by didn't even register to the boil.
The Mistress would though, and he blinked at her snide comment, snorting in amusement. "Please do," he offered in retort, lowering his arms to clasp wrists below Junko's rear to better support her as she clung to him. Eagerly returning her last kiss before echoing her greeting. Voice surely just as dopey as her own.
"Did you have a good ride?" He wondered after a moment or two. Hooking the toe of his shoe within the handle of her bag so he could lift it, catching it with his human hand without shifting his grip from beneath her. Wandering over towards the car she'd come running from and the growing pile of luggage next to it. "Those aren't all yours are they?"
"I don't gag as easily as your dear Junko." The Mistress snapped back, causing the ghoul to flush heavily. Wh-what?! How could...how could she?! That little..! Junko tried to distract him with another kiss instead, only for him to ask about her train ride. She smiled again and nodded, pausing after and looking like she was actually considering it. Did she? Hmmm! Well...yeah! Yeah, she did!
"Mhm! I slept almost the entire way though. I didn't get much sleep last night, and then I had to climb down a mountain to the village that the train station was in and..well, it could be worse. I was really out of shape when this all started, but I've gotten better now!" Junko chirped proudly, falling quiet to just look at him. His face, his eyes, his hair. Everything. Oh, how she'd missed it all. The glow of his eyes, the cool touch of his skin, his breath, his soft hair. She loved every inch of him. "I missed you." She leaned in to kiss him again while he was shifting underneath her to grab something. Oh, right. Her carry on. Whoops! Though now he was walking and she leaned back enough to look where they were growing, noticing the luggage that was all for her. And then his question.
...Oops. Junko blushed. "W-well...not..all of it. I mean, I told you I was making Shehk a new wardrobe and...and then my kimonos and..Riley was very generous in the silks she gave me. I even made this kimono with them. And...th-they're not very heavy, I promise! I'llhelpcarrythemIswear." She smiled apologetically and dropped her legs from his waist, sliding her hands down to rest against his chest. "Since we're going back to school after this I couldn't just leave things at Tomoko's...I'm sorry! It's too much, isn't it." It was totally too much. Crap! Um..she really would carry things! Honest!
He ignored the snappy comment from The Mistress, snorting faintly as he carried Junko over to the small mountain of luggage. Frowning down at the pile and then up at the ghoul as she confirmed that it was indeed mostly hers. It figured. Rolling his eyes he moved to set her back on her feet, offering her the carry on. "Well that's good," he said in regards to her having gotten a bit of a work out, nudging her cheek with a knuckle. "And I'm glad the trip here was so restful for you, we have a bit of a walk." The grin he turned down to her was decidedly cruel. Hey, if he was going to have to carry the majority of his luggage, the least he could do was take solace in the fact that she had to walk a few miles to get to his house.
He chose not to comment on the contents of her luggage, and instead focused on figuring out a way to carry it all. Scratching at the back of his neck as he stared down at it all. "Well, might as well get moving then, hmm? Sooner we get there the sooner we can relax." He grabbed one of the suitcases, a smaller one, and tucked it under one arm, then grabbed another two, leaving her with the last one and her carry on. "My parents live on the edge of town, so it's a bit of a walk, but no mountains, I promise." With a grin he turned to head back towards the station and the stairs leading down from the platform.
The road, when they reached it, was dirt but very well warn. Small shops and houses lining it on either side with other roads leading perpendicular from it. It wasn't a very large town, but it was big enough. A harbor village on the edge of some great sea. It was very serene.
Junko's head turned as her cheek was nudged, a smile on her face. It was an odd move but she knew it was one of playful affection. He was silly sometimes. A bit of a walk? What did he mean by that? The grin he was giving her had her face paling a little more as her hair decided to just hang limp around her, nearly brushing the ground. "O-oh? How..long is a bit?" He didn't feel fatigue, not like her. A bit to him could be death for her! Junko foresaw a lot of held back complaining in her near future; she may have gotten better with this whole stamina thing, but she was by no means awesome at it.
"Yeah, you're right.." Junko replied quietly as she watched him begin to collect her bags. She held the carry on she had brought with her, clinging to it and watching as he took bag after bag after bag. "Wait I--" Oh. Just..one. He left her one. But he had so many! Didn't he want more help? "I-I can hold more, I promise! At least give me one more. I don't want to tire you out--"
"Not like this, anyway." The Mistress snorted, sounding rather disgusted with the suggestion. She knew what went through Junko's head at all times. She knew what had flittered through the ghoul's mind whenever she thought back on any of the times she and Seiji had been intimate. It disgusted Her, but there was nothing She could do about it anymore. Junko blushed again and hissed back at Her to shut up, keeping her voice low so as to keep it as hidden from Seiji as she could manage. Stupid! The Mistress snorted.
"So..uh..! Good, no mountains. You did swear to me, after all. I'd have to turn around and leave if I'd found out you lied to me." Junko was bluffing; it was obvious in the way she smiled. She followed closely alongside Seiji as they walked, seeming to forget she had just threatened him with leaving as she looked around. It was so cute! She wanted to live in a village like this! So this was where he lived before he was enrolled in Amityville. She liked it! It wasn't crazy busy, it wasn't an abandoned town that made her uncomfortable. It was nice! The harbor even gave it some romantic potential. Junko's smile warmed as she looked up at Seiji while they walked, wishing their hands weren't full so she could hold his hand. "So you're sure they'll like me? Should I have put up my hair? She's apparently feeling mouthy today..." She really didn't want to offend her boilfriend's parents.
He smirked at her question, glancing side long at her as they walked. "A few miles, nothing crazy." There was the hopeful possibility of him exaggerating, but he wouldn't admit it. She'd just have to wait and see. "And don't worry about, your hands are already full," He tipped his head down to the two bags in her hands. "They aren't that heavy." He did wonder how exactly she'd managed to drag around 5 bags up and down a mountain from the train station. Perhaps the hair? No.. They weren't terribly heavy, but all five together would have been way too much for her to handle even with Her help. Huh.. The Kitsunes maybe? That must be it.
This time around She managed to get a rather startled laugh from the boil before he could stop himself. Snickering under his breath as Junko hissed at the back of her head. They were few and far between, but every once in a blue moon the Mistress said something that was actually worth hearing. Now was one of those times. And considering She knew the thoughts that were roaming around in his ghoulfriend's brain, that particular comment left him feeling rather smug. "I'll be fine," he finally managed, chuckling softly.
"And or course I'm sure. I love you, so they're going to love you." It had slipped out so easily he didn't even realize he said it. Progress. Her second question required a little more thought, and he glanced sidelong at the back of her head, lips pressing thoughtfully. "Ah, maybe. If She keeps blurting out things of a sensitive nature..." Namely their sex life. Or almost sex life.. He coughed, clearing his throat. Dark gaze returning the dusty road ahead of them. "I mean they're pretty laid back, but I doubt they'd appreciate hearing about those sorts of things." They could stop before they reached the house and she could decide then if she was going to put her hair up or not.
A...few miles. Nothing crazy. "Right." Junko breathed out with a laugh of disbelief. He had to be kidding. He had to be. Please be kidding. Please. It wasn't too difficult to get luggage down a mountain; when nothing inside was fragile or breakable and everything was securely sealed with no threat of popping open she hadn't worried too much about if they were dropped. She had had help, but it still hadn't been terribly strenuous on the ghoul. But his hands were full too! She could put one of them under her arms just like he was! Sigh. "I'll give you lots of hugs for this." Before probably passing out from exhaustion. It wasn't much, but she could give him lots and lots of hugs. She wasn't going to be trying anything with his parents around. Ghosts didn't need sleep...yeah, no. She was going to be the perfect ghoulfriend in the eyes of his parents. He could complain at her all he wanted, she wouldn't budge on this! The Mistress actually grinned. Now the ghoul just had to hold up to this silent promise to herself.
As he laughed Junko blushed more, keeping her gaze off Seiji and instead on the scenery around them. "It's really nice here." She commented to try and change the subject. Stupid Mistress. Sometimes she just hated Her so much. This was one of those times. Junko just needed to shut Her up, that was all. She tried not to notice how proud of himself he sounded as he told her he'd be fine, though she did glance at him before looking away again.
And then he said he loved her. She sighed happily and nearly melted at the very words, her hair lifting happily. He said it first. She loved him, he knew that, and she knew he loved her but it always brought a flutter to her heart to hear him say it. His answer made a very good point, though. The Mistress seemed to be on a roll, however, and so Junko stopped in the middle of the road, putting down her bags and digging around in her sleeves. "You're right." Junko frowned, ignoring the way her hair already began to writhe and struggle, knowing what was coming. "Quit it." She said around a ribbon that she was holding in her teeth. She struggled a little less with the hair than she usually did, having apparently begun figuring out Her tricks. It took a few minutes less time than it usually would have for Junko to wrap the majority of her hair behind her head in a tight bun. She even decorated it with a butterfly-shaped clip and a small red fan that matched her kimono.
"How do I look?" Junko asked cheerfully and turned on her heel to face Seiji, a proud smile on her face. She held her arms out, presenting herself to him.
Had the boil known what was going on in the ghoul's head he might have had a comment or two on a few things. As it was he was blissfully unaware, and it was probably for the best, all things considered. Her promise of lots of hugs made him chuckle, and he smiled down at her as they walked. "I'm holding you to that promise." There would be hugs, oh yes there would! And if she happened to pass out on him he was ok with that. He had arrived himself just that morning, and this would be the second time he'd be making this particular walk, the both of them had had quite a busy day, and it was only about half over. He might have been a ghost and didn't need sleep, but even he would sleep good tonight.
Her attempt at changing the subject was obvious, but he went along with it anyways, nodding. "Ya it is. A lot different than the city.." He trailed off, having almost blurted out that he'd once been homeless. He knew she wouldn't care, but he wasn't looking for sympathy. It wasn't as though he'd had it all that rough, but still. If she asked he'd tell her, but he wasn't going to bring up something like that without being prompted.
When she suddenly stopped he blinked back at her, pausing as well. "What are you.. Oh." He figured it out as she started struggling with her own hair to bundle the top of it back in an elegant bun, secure the whole of it tightly with a ribbon before adding a rather pretty little fan and clip. She asked how she looked, and he tilted his head, admiring her before giving an approving nod, turning back in the direction of home. "Beautiful, maybe even more so than normal." There had been the slight urge to joke with her, but he'd pushed it away. They could always joke later, and she really did look lovely.
While they walked he kept a steady pace, not exactly rushed, but not slow. He didn't want to spend the rest of the evening walking, and they were already at least a third of the way there. If they just kept up a constant speed they'd make it there in no time.
"Whaaaat? You know I'm going to anyway, silly." Junko laughed, picking up her bags again. He didn't have to hold her to a promise for hugs! Those were always available to him any time of the day and night. Junko liked hugs if that wasn't obvious enough.
Had he mentioned being homeless Junko would have felt sympathy, but she wouldn't have gone crazy about it. It happened. It was in the past. He'd already alluded to his parents having adopted him, meaning he was either abandoned by his parents as a child or he...was a human who had died and returned as a jikininki. Why a jikininki? Who knows. She wouldn't pry. Not like he'd remember it if it was the latter option, right? So it's not as if it mattered! The past was the past, and Junko wanted to try and keep it that way. There was no use in her freaking out about him being homeless when that was no longer the case! "I've always lived in a small busy place. I'm not used to quiet towns like this." She admitted with a chuckle, smiling. "Or forests. I've spent almost my entire break in a forest." Full of kitsunes. So amazing. So. Jacking. Amazing. But now she was here with Seiji, her boilfriend that she loved and adored, and that was amazing in an entirely different way than staying with a family of kitsunes and her little Tomo-chan.
At his compliment on her looks she blushed and held the bags tighter, giving him a shy sidelong glance through her bangs as they walked. More than normal? But all she did was put her hair up how she always did. What did that mean? Should she keep rushing things so..she looked more beautiful? No, that couldn't be it. She had to be putting too much thought into it. She just had to be. "Thank you, Seiji." Junko said quietly, lifting her shoulders and ducking her head a little as if to try hiding like a turtle trying to pull into its shell. It wasn't that she wanted to run away, she was just trying to hide how much him calling her beautiful made her blush. A bit of her bangs swayed to partially cover her face, though her smile could still probably be seen.
She was trying really, really hard not to complain about the walking. This was nothing compared to Tomoko's. But..but walking...why. "Ah..are we almost there~? Um! Because, I mean..you're carrying so many bags and all..." She eventually asked after what seemed like forever. Yes. Her concern was totally because he was carrying almost all of her bags.
Okay so she was concerned about that, but she also didn't want to walk anymore. Ugh!
"Not much of a reward if it's something I'd get anyways, is it?" He was joking, mostly. He would gladly accept the hugs, but he certainly wouldn't say no to a few kisses as well. Besides, sometimes she just made it way to easy to tease her. Not that he would ever do so maliciously. He was also thankful that she didn't ask more about the city and his former living arrangements, and instead let the conversation progress away from him and onto her. "At least it was a small place, even if it was busy."
Had she alluded in some way that him calling her beautiful had anything to do with them getting intimate he'd have been rather offended. She'd been beautiful when they'd first met face to face, and that had never changed. What did change was the way in which she carried herself, the clothing she draped around herself, and the lovely decorations she pinned in her hair. The first came with time and confidence, the latter always varied. Some of her outfits he preferred over others. This one happened to be particularly lovely, and her hair being up seemed to complete the look. "You're welcome." He noted her smile, and mirrored it.
They were actually about half way home by the time she made any comments or questions about the length of the walk. He was proud of her, but that didn't keep him from laughing as he shook his head. "Not really, we're a little over half way there now. Another mile still." Dark eyes rolled at her concern. "I'm fine, really." And he was. The bags weren't heavy, but even if they were it wasn't as though he hadn't made this particular journey before. "At least the scenery is nice though, right?"
"Sure it is! They'll just be extra special hugs." Junko nodded sagely, meaning nothing by it. Extra special hugs were just...hugs, but she called them special so that's all there was to it. That's all that mattered! She shrugged a little as he commented on where she lived, trying not to let her smile turn sad. Everything in that area was small. Including the houses. And...often the hearts of the people inside. Her smile grew, though it was a forced one so she wouldn't get sad about it. Not today. Not right now. Not when she was seeing her boilfriend for the first time in weeks, not when she was meeting his parents for the first time, not when..she was with someone she loved so much, who also loved her. The smile returned to its genuine state at those thoughts alone. "It's okay though. I always had something to do?" She giggled.
Junko looked more fully to Seiji as he smiled, blushing again and sidestepping a little closer as they walked. She couldn't hold his hand but damnit she would walk as closely as she could. She just needed to be near him and she was happy. "The scenery is very nice. I like it! It's really peaceful and pretty." She adjusted the bags she was carrying with a happy little hum, trying to pretend she hadn't heard him say there was still another mile. She was tired, very tired, but she couldn't allow herself to fall asleep as soon as they were inside or anything like that. Junko wanted to enjoy every waking second she had. "Thank you for inviting me, Seiji." Junko realized he did it so they wouldn't be apart any longer, but she still wanted to thank him.
"Oh is that so?" He laughed, adjusting his grip on the bags as the one beneath his arm began to slip a little. "Special, huh? We'll see." She moved to walk a little closer, and he swung his arm up so their bags bumped gently, smiling down at her before returning his gaze to the road ahead and the little houses doted around them. Modest little residences with well kept yards. Exactly modern, but not entirely old world either. Something he'd always liked about this village, No matter what the insides of the houses contained, the outsides never seemed to age. Words like quaint came to mind. He nodded towards her agreement, happy she liked what she'd seen so far.
"Thank you, for agreeing to come." His voice had softened, but it would stay that way for only a moment as he grinned down at her. "You're not getting tired are you?" The distinct thread of humor in his words would have been nigh impossible to miss. "Am I going to have carry you, too?" He was joking of course, but there was a seriousness to the question that made it a genuine offer. If she really was tired he'd have figured out a way to carry all the bags and her. It was a very long walk, and for someone that actually felt fatigue it could be a little much. For Seiji and his parent's it was nothing.
Squinting up along the road he looked for some sign they were nearing the house, and spotting a familiar tree on the next corner he smiled. "See that gnarled tree up there at cross roads? When we reach that we're almost there. Only another quarter mile past that. We'll even be able to see the house."
We'll see? What did that mean? Junko blinked, though she smiled as he bumped her arm and returned the nudge. The houses were a good sign! They'd gone from just scenery to houses finally. One of these just had to be his. They just had to be. "Yay~! Civilization!" Junko laughed, throwing her bag-filled arms in the air for a moment before letting them fall back down. She was so excited to see which one was his, to see which house was the one her boilfriend lived in, and it showed. The way what was left of her hair not in the bun wriggled and writhed, the brightened glow of her eyes, the smile on her face; she even occasionally seemed to be guessing which upcoming house could possibly be his for whatever reason. Things like 'oh! This looks like something he'd like!' or 'I could totally see him in that house'. It was silly, but she was enjoying it.
"Of course I agreed to come. Why would you think otherwise?" Junko smiled up at him, about to try and show him some kind of affection when he asked if she was tired, his grin not matching the concern. He was making fun of her. "Nope." She replied simply, even looking away to turn her nose up in the air and taking longer strides to try and walk ahead of him. See? Not tired! Not tired at all! Though the confident walk died away when her body decided that yes..she was tired. Stupid tired. Stupid walk. Why did they have to live so faaaaaar?
Junko looked up as he pointed out a tree, smiling and nodding. Was that it? He lived right the--oh. "..Your parents live really far." He was definitely carrying her next time. She would allow it this once.
Yay civilization indeed! He chuckled softly at her enthusiasm before sobering and looking off to the side at a pasture of pathlings. "I don't know," he admitted softly, once more adjusting his grip on the luggage. "Meeting the parents is nice and all, but we don't have any guest rooms or such, and you'd be staying with me in my room. I wasn't sure if you'd be comfortable with something like that.." He trailed off, feeling silly now that he was saying it aloud. "I know we share a bed all the time at school, but this seemed.. different, bigger. I don't know." Ya, it was pretty faulty reasoning out loud.. Gray cheeks darkened in the afternoon light, and he frowned harder.
A welcome distraction came in the form of her denying her fatigue, and he snorted softly as she strode off a few paces in front of him. That he easily covered without even breaking stride, returning to her side as she slowed once again. "They do, but they're haunts. They don't need to go into town often and even if they did the distance really isn't much of a hindrance for them. And it's not as though they have many live guests." He rolled his shoulder in a dismissive sort of shrug as they passed the gnarled tree.
The rest of the walk was actually on a gentle downward slope, and it seemed to go by a lot faster than any other quarter mile of their trek. The house itself was a modest little one story square with a nice little garden out front filled with nightly blooming flowers and bushes. There was land out behind the house, but it was generally undeveloped. Only grass and a few trees. "Home sweet home," he mused idly, speeding his pace a little as they neared, features brightening as he noticed the semi-translucent form of his mother lingering in the garden. "Ma!" He called ahead of them. So polite, was Seiji. "Look what I found at the train station!"
"Hmm?" The elderly specter looked up, smiling happily at the pair of teenagers walking towards her and the house. "Oh Seiji, she's lovely.~"
His reasonings made absolutely no. sense. Junko slowly turned her head to just stare at him, brow raised but otherwise her expression was completely blank. Seriously? He wasn't sure if she'd be comfortable sleeping in his room at his parents' house? "Really?" She asked flatly, chuckling and rolling her eyes as she shook her head. "You're so dumb sometimes." Junko teased with the utmost of affections, grinning as she continued to walk alongside her boilfriend. Really? He seriously thought she wasn't going to be comfortable staying with him? Boils! Sigh!
He made a good point with the distance thing though. He ate, but a haunt would not. So they were haunts? How nice! Was she their first live guest? She hoped not. She paused a moment, slowing in her walk as she realized something. Not many living guests... "Th..they knew I was coming, right?" Right? Right?! Seiji wouldn't just spring something like this on his parents the day of, right? They would have food, right? Food was nice. Food was awesome. She tried to push the mild panic away, instead nudging against Seiji again as he had done with her earlier on.
When they finally began to slow down she looked up to see where they were, her hair lifting with excitement. Ah! They were here! This was it, right? It was so cute! And it was bigger than her own! And the garden was just lovely! It took her a minute to notice the woman in the garden due to her being somewhat transluscent, but when he called her out Junko blinked and looked around to find her. Oh! There she was! She blushed. That..that was Seiji's mother. Seiji's mother. She was meeting her already?! Th-this was too fast! Ah! Um..um..! Did she look okay? Was everything in order? Her hair? Was it okay? Her kimono? Her stockings? Her sandals? Were those okay? Yes. Everything was okay. Or maybe it wasn't. Junko blushed more as the elderly haunt regarded her, especially when she called her lovely. The ghoul panicked somewhat, quickly bending forward to give her a formal greeting bow. "I-it's nice to meet you! Thank you for having me!" She said formally. Okay, so maybe she was okay with the theory of meeting them..but actually meeting them had her flipping out inside.
That flat tone and insult earned her a rather sour stare before he pointedly turned away. Wasn't it her that had made a big deal some months ago about sleeping in the same bed as their boilfriend? Ya, he was pretty damn sure it had been. And let's not forget all the stunning feats of intelligence she performed on a weekly basis. "Right, because I was totally the one that shot myself in the face during paintball." She was saved from further comment by her question on whether or not he'd mentioned to him parents that Junko was coming to stay with him, and it was his turn to give her blank sort of look. "Really?" He echoed her, doing a fair imitation of the joking tone she'd taken with him. "Of course they do." Stupid.. He was not stupid.
Grouchy features brightened rather quickly though as his mom called back to them with a compliment to Junko, and he grinned. "She followed me home, can I keep her?" He was only half joking. It would be awesome to have her stay with him indefinitely. Although if he really stopped to think about it, wasn't that nearly the case already? They did share a bed most nights, that sort of counted, didn't it?
A glance to his side showed Junko's features had gone rather panicked, and despite the formal bow and greeting, she seemed very nervous. "Er.. " Had his hands been free he would have been face palming.
Seiji's mother floated over the edge of the flower bed, and after wiping her hands on her apron offered one to Junko as they grew near. Though being a haunt, she wasn't 100% tangible, and unless she concentrated matter tended to go right through her. So if Junko calmed enough to take that faintly glowing hand her fingers would go right through her. Emilia (His mother's name), wouldn't even seem to notice as she smiled at the pair, laughing softly at her son's request. "Oh Seiji.." The words themselves were chastising, but the tone was not. "It's wonderful to finally meet you, Junko."
Still bowing, Junko pouted. "It was not during paintball." Junko clarified sharply, blushing all over again. She was scolding him in front of his mother oh Jack oh Jack oh Jack! "It was during paintball practice." See? Totally different. Though she did easily catch him mimicking her this time, sticking her tongue out at the boil. Stupid boils. Had she known he really had taken offense to her teasing she would have quickly apologized, but if he was honestly upset by it he didn't let on in a way that let her know.
She couldn't help but giggle at the joke he made to his mother, standing straight again and fidgeting with her bags. She was meeting his mother so quickly. She didn't think she'd meet her before even walking into the house! Or onto the property! Junko reached out to take the hand offered to her, blinking a little as her fingers passed right through the woman's hand. O-oh. Right. Haunt. Ghost. Transparent. Not..really tangible. It was strange to interact with a natural ghost after becoming so accustomed to the students at school being forced to be tangible and solid. She could even touch Seiji.
"I-it's wonderful to meet you, too! Seiji's been telling me about you both." Not much, though. All she knew was that they were laid back. Her hair twisted and writhed while she tried desperately to calm down. Sh-she was having a conversation! With his mother! Seiji's mother! Hehe! This was actually kind of exciting! "I love your garden, it's lovely." Junko said with a warm smile, glowing green eyes turning to the garden in question. She couldn't wait to see them in bloom. Did they bloom? She hoped they did. She didn't know much about flowers other than they were pretty and smelled nice.
He snorted at her retort, sticking his tongue right back at her, flicking the end in a rather serpentine manner before turning a rather bright smile towards his mother as she floated near. Stupid ghouls. Stupid.. pretty ghouls. Stupid beautiful ghouls that had cut a visit with a mutual friend short just so he wouldn't have to be apart from her any more.. Jack damnit. Sighing in defeat he shook his head before turning to watch Junko attempt to shake his mother's hand only to have her fingers slip right through. "Ma, that's not fair." He scolded softly.
Emilia blinked, glancing down at her hand then towards Junko before laughing softly. "Oh goodness. I'm sorry dear." She closed her eyes, brows furrowing gently a moment, and when she opened them again she seemed less faint, more here. And when she reached out to take the young ghoul's hand her fingers were cool to the touch but very real. "It's very wonderful to meet you as well." She glanced towards the garden as it was complimented and gave a happy little 'ah' of pride, straightening up a bit. "Thank you, dear. Wait until you see it at night, it really comes alive then." She waited a second or two before laughing at her own joke. Not bothering to wait for either of the teenagers to join in, though Seiji did muffle a chuckle with the back of his hand.
"Why don't you two go drop those off inside," she wafted a hand vaguely at the bags before reaching up to pat her son on the cheek. "Your dad's inside." Giving Junko another warm smile she turned back to the garden before pausing. "The fridge and cupboards are all stocked up for you both, so help yourself whenever you're hungry."
Seiji blinked at the pat, frowning softly before rolling his eyes and hoisting his burden of luggage a little more securely in his arms. "Thanks Ma," he offered back to the elderly haunt before jerking his head towards the front door to indicate Junko should follow him.
Junko watched with interest as the woman seemed to concentrate hard on something, eyes wide and hair lifting with surprise as she took her hand. She felt solid! "Is that hard to do?" She asked without thinking as her hand was shaken and then released, looking from the haunt's hand to Seiji's and then down at her own. Did Seiji just make it look easy? ...Could he turn transparent and spy on her? A suspicious eye was turned toward her boilfriend as she made this thought; she wouldn't put it past him. Junko smiled at the joke, looking to the flowers again. "How ironic~." She giggled, ignoring Her muffled voice as She tried desperately to spout out rude comments. Apparently Her plan was to embarrass Junko so much his parents would kick her out and she'd be forced to go back to her parents. And then they could resume their work in breaking the little futakuchi-onna. Oh yes. Junko wasn't having it, though. In fact she reached back to tug on the ribbons in a way to tighten the knots. There! Muuuuuch better.
"Yes, ma'am~." Junko replied obediently out of habit, picking up the two bags Seiji had allowed her to carry. H-his dad? Geh. So soooooon! It was all happening so fast! Junko blushed again and returned the smile, albeit somewhat nervously again, while holding tightly to her bags. Oh, good! There was food. "Thank you very much!" Wait, they could just..help themselves? They didn't have to do any chores or anything? Junko turned back to Seiji and noticed him frowning, tilting her head to one side and following him quickly.
"Is something wrong? Why are you frowning, ねえ?" Junko asked quietly, standing carefully on their tiptoes as they walked to try and put her head on his shoulder. Damn. It was hard when she couldn't pull herself up so she gave up, following him inside and immediately slipping her sandals off beside the door before looking around at where they were. She was inside Seiji's house!
He was chuckling as he pushed the door open with his hip. "For Mom and Dad being solid takes a little work, but I'm the opposite. I can't go translucent or intangible," he shrugged. "Something to do with being a jikininki, not to mention still a first year at school." His tone had taken on a matter of fact quality, though it slipped as she asked about his frowns, blinking back at her over his shoulder. "何ですか?" Oh, the pat from his mother. Features pinched, but he smiled all the same. "何もない、奇妙なているだけでママ。" He paused so he could place a kiss on her temple as they entered the kitchen. Or what had been a kitchen in a former life.
There was still a fridge, a stove, all appliances. Cupboards and cabinets with food and dishes tucked inside. What set this kitchen apart from most others was the complete and total lack of a table or chairs. Being haunts, his parent's had never seen the need for such a thing, and really the only reason the other necessities remained was for him. "Well this is my house," he offered with a chuckle, pausing only long enough for her to get a good look before moving through a doorway and down a hall towards the room on the end, calling through another opening as they passed. "Hey Dad, back in a second."
The room at the end of the hall was his, and he set a bag down so he could open the door, ushering her inside. It looked very similar to his room at school, only smaller, more compact. There were a few places that seemed unusually bare, but they'd once held his computer and other electronics before he'd moved them all to school. "This is my room. Well, our room for the next couple weeks, I guess." The one thing it did have that seemed out of place was a small table with two chairs nudges up against one of the walls. Being the only being within the household that needed to eat, it seemed the best place for it.
"Ohhhh, okay. Good, I was just wondering if you were able to do that. Would've had some questions if you were." Junko teased, perking up as he answered her question in Japanese. Don't what her! Though his answer was confusing. What did his mother do that was so weird? She giggled at the kiss against her temple and smiled, her heart fluttering just from that small show of affection. "彼女は何をしたのか?" Junko didn't see anything out of the ordinary. His mother had pat him on the cheek? Why was that weird? Shouldn't..mothers do that?
She didn't see anything wrong with the kitchen, it was a kitchen for a house where a pair of haunts who didn't eat food resided. Naturally the kitchen wouldn't get much attention! Junko looked around as they walked, humming thoughtfully. So this was where Seiji lived outside of school. She looked over the doorway as they passed through it. No door? No door on that either..oh! But the bathroom had a door, and that other room had a door, as did the one at the end of the hall. Okay. It was actually somewhat surprising that there were doors at all! Sort of, anyway. She perked up as she heard him speak to his father, peeking through that door as they passed it. His father was in there? But it seemed they weren't stopping to see him just yet, instead she found herself being led into another room. Oh! She smiled again, blushing a little as he introduced her to his--their room. "Okay. So..where should I put my stuff?" Junko asked, noticing the table against the wall. That seemed like a good place for now, right? She put her two bags on it and turned back to Seiji, leaning back against the table.
"Well..that wasn't so bad! O-oh I didn't get a name to call her by." Junko pressed a finger against her lips and frowned with concern. What could she call her? Missus..? Missus what? She'd have to find a way to ask next time. Junko glanced at the floor and then back up to Seiji again, her frown quirking up into a little smile as she stepped back to him. She promised hugs. The ghoul slid her arms around his middle and then up behind him to hold his shoulders, nuzzling her face against his chest and inhaling deeply. She'd missed this, ohhh how she'd missed this. She'd even missed how he smelled.

What did she take him for, some common peeping tom? A little more credit, if you please! He didn't even bother to comment, but instead moved on to the more pressing matter of just where all her stuff was going to fit in his room. It wasn't exactly small, being the biggest in the house, but it wasn't large either, and while he'd taken a lot of his things with him to school there was still a shortage of free space. "Good question." She seemed to find a fairly good answer herself in the table, and he nodded, moving to place the others with the first two on the table and its chairs. "That'll work, and Mom was just being a mom." He loved his mother, but did he love her babying him in front of his ghoulfriend? Not so much.
"I brought some clothes back with me, but I left a couple drawers free if you wanna use them while we're here." Living out of a suitcase was a pain in the a**. He blinked as she moved to slip her arms around him, laying his hands lightly at the small of her back before pulling her more tightly against him and laying a kiss on her forehead. Chin coming to rest on the top of her head. "Her name is Emilia, but I'm sure she wouldn't care if you called her mom." Human fingers roamed up and down her back in fond circles as she nuzzled against him. "We do still have to go say hello to my Dad," he added after a moment. She had to be tired, and really he couldn't blame her. He was feeling a little fatigued himself.
Despite his words though he'd let her stay pressed against him a moment or two longer before drawing away, and taking her hand. "We'll go say hello, then we can take a nap, alright?" His parent's would understand. Well.. They wouldn't mind, at least. Being haunts they didn't sleep, but they would be alright with the two of them going to lie down for a while after the long day they'd both had.
Junko paused. "...What?" She wouldn't lie, she didn't get what he meant by 'being a mom'. She tried to think back to what his mother had done, a small frown on her face. She really didn't understand. She'd greeted them, welcomed her into her home, and then shown her son a little affection. Junko tried not to dwell on it, not wanting to dampen any moods with her not understanding how mothers really should behave. Tomoko's mother had been really nice as well...why couldn't her own mother be like that?
"Okay. I'll do that later, then~." Junko chirped, smiling again. It was like moving in! Even if it was only for two weeks. Hehe. She was basically going to be living with Seiji. The thought made her heart flutter and she giggled helplessly, squeaking a bit as he held her closer and tighter. Her eyes closed at the kiss to her forehead. "Emilia? That's a pretty name." Wait, what? Junko was shivering at his touches and trying to make sense of what he just said. Call her mom? Sh-she couldn't do that! Could she? She nuzzled her cheek against the boil, considering that option. Could she call her mom? How could she be sure? It's not like she could just go 'Hi! Can I call you mom?' that would be so awkward. Or at least Junko thought so. Even Junko didn't make a move though as he mentioned they needed to greet his father; she'd move when he was ready, as she was more than happy just holding onto him. She didn't want to let him go, she just wanted to hold him for a little while. Could she? Pretty please?
Apparently not. She held his hand, giving hit a squeeze and nodding at his offer. "Okay. I don't want to sleep the whole day away though, so just a small one.." She'd slept on the train and she really didn't want to waste any time she had alone with him.
Giving her fingers a squeeze he led her back towards his door. "We'll set an alarm for whatever time you'd like to wake up." Strictly speaking he didn't need sleep, so although he'd enjoy a nap he didn't need it. He'd offered it up as a option more for her benefit then his, but he would certainly enjoy the cuddling a nap would entail. Opening the door he ushered her through it, pulling it closed behind him as the stepped into the hall. Resting his hands on her shoulders so he could steer her down the hall and back towards to sitting room.
Seiji's father was floating beside a tall book shelf. Books sliding in and out of their places as he looked over the bindings. Apparently looking something in specific and having no luck of it. As the teens entered he paused in his searching, glancing back at them and offering a friendly smile. Gliding towards them with a hand extended towards Junko. Unlike his wife he seemed a little more colorful, a little more solid, and when she reached out to offer her hand his would be quite tangible.
"You must be Junko," he gave her hand a soft shake before releasing her, hands folding behind his back as he lowered to actually stand on the floor. "I hope you had a good trip, from what Seiji's said it was quite a long one."
"Okay." Junko smiled, pleased with this decision. She knew he didn't need to sleep, but she certainly wanted to. At least for a little while. If he stayed awake he'd be able to wake her up! Totally. She was all set to follow behind him until he suddenly put his hands on her shoulders and guided her from behind, making her lead the way. Junko's eyes were wide as she nearly skidded to try and keep him from pushing her into the room first. No! Nononono! She wasn't ready! She wasn't ready!
He decided otherwise. Junko's eyes were wide as she stood there in the doorway, watching the floating ghost. She was nervous again. OhJackletthisturnoutwell. She was so glad Seiji suggested covering Her up. So, so glad. As he came closer she squeaked a little and blushed, nodding her head. "Hai--er, yes. I did! It's very nice to meet you, sir!" Junko nearly bowed again, stopped by the shake of her hand in his. He was more prepared for that than Emilia had been, how wonderful! "You have a lovely home." Really, she felt anything was better than her home. "Thank you for letting me stay." Theeeeere was the bow. She stood up again, still blushing. Was she being too formal? Too awkward? Geh..!
Gray hands never left the ghoul's shoulders as she greeted his father. The jikininki smiling in subtle amusement as her English slipped for a moment. "静める," he offered, bending so he could murmur beside her ear. What was she so nervous for? Yes, she was meeting his parents, but was that really any reason to get so scared? He didn't think so, but he got the feeling she'd disagree with him. It must surely be a ghoul thing. Rolling his eyes he gave her arms a small, reassuring squeeze.
The English slip made the haunt chuckle, but he didn't comment. Merely smiled as she corrected herself. Bowing formally as she thanked him and his wife for letting her stay with them for the next couple weeks. "Oh no, it's a pleasure dear. Don't even worry about it." He waved his hands, before bringing one up rub at the back of his neck. "We're happy to have you."
Stepping up closer to Junko, Seiji draped his arms around her shoulders. Chin coming to rest on the top of her head. "See? What'd I tell you?" All that worrying for nothing, silly ghoul. "We'll let you get back to your books now, Dad. Just wanted to say a quick hello." He straightened again, half turning towards the door way. "We'll catch up more later, ok?" They had two weeks to share stories of the school with his parents, but for now he wanted nothing more than to curl up with the futakuchi-onna and relax.
The murmur beside her ear actually worked in that it made her melt against him, though she did her best not to show it other than leaning back toward him and smiling, her hair curling at its ends. Hehe! She loved when he did that! Even the squeeze to her arms seemed to relax her, mostly it was the reassurance that Seiji was there. She honestly didn't realize she'd be meeting them so quickly, despite staying in their house it didn't occur to her for some reason. Eh heh.
"Alright. Thank you!" She squeaked again as she suddenly felt Seiji draping over her, glowing green eyes turning up toward the boil whose head was resting on her own. She blushed. Yes, yes. Seiji was right as usual. She lifted her hands to rest them on his arms, giving them an affectionate squeeze. "It was very nice to meet you..sir." She couldn't call him dad...not unless he said so. He wasn't her father, so it wouldn't be right for her to just assume! They needed to be shown respect. She was actually somewhat surprised they weren't staying longer, though! A curious glance was cast up at Seiji as he began to turn them toward the door again. She supposed it was a good idea. She was so tired, and his father probably wanted to find something to read. Or even spend time with his son...he could do that while she was sleeping! "It was very nice to meet you!" She called to Seiji's father as he guided her out the door and into the hall again.
"Your parents are so nice." Junko murmured once they were in the hall again, smiling up at Seiji and pressing a light kiss to his chin. She reached out to open his door once they reached it, slipping free of his hold on her to just climb right onto the bed. The pinwheel on her obi, the fan in her hair and the butterfly clip were all removed. The Mistress even managed to snap the ribbon and toss it away before Junko could untie it. "..Great, thanks. Not like I wanted to keep that." She grumbled to Her as she placed the trinkets aside and then flopped onto the bed, not even bothering to get under the covers. So tiiiiired. She had to stay awake until Seiji joined her. Don't close your eyes. Don't close your eyes..!
"Tony," Seiji offered softly to Junko as they exited the sitting room. "His name's Tony." He was fairly certain she wouldn't be using his name, especially not without being asked to do so, but she would probably like to know. Tony himself had waved, chuckling softly as he turned back to the book shelf, drifting back up towards the volumes on the upper levels so he could continue looking.
Her lips against his chin made the boil smile, tipping his head down to lay a kiss between her eyes as she reached out for the door. "They really are," he agreed, warmth in his voice. He may bemoan some of the things they did, but he owed them so much. He loved them. He let her slip out of his arms to make her way towards the bed, removing only a small handful of accessories. Brows twitching upwards, as the Mistress snapped the ribbon. Impressive. "I'm sure Mom has a few stray ribbons lying around if you need another one." She probably had hundreds in her bag, but you never know.
He expected her to remove her obi at the very least before lying down, but when she laid the few fragile trinkets on the bed side table and simply curled up he chuckled faintly. Wandering over to take a seat on the edge of the bed. Unzipping his sleeveless hoodie so he could toss it over one of the chairs. "I know you're tired, but that can't be comfortable." Gray fingers tugged at the ties on her obi, slipping the knot so the tight garment loosened and he could pull it out from beneath her. "Not to mention you're going to wrinkle that silk sleeping in it." He'd bent low so he could rest on an elbow as he spoke to her, laying a kiss on the side of her neck. "You can throw on one of my over-sized shirts, I'll bet it'll be more comfortable." His hand came to rest on her shoulder, thumb rubbing gently.
"Whassnotcomf't'ble?" Junko mumbled, her face hidden in one of the pillows. Sleep, glorious sleep. She felt him join her on the bed and finally allowed herself to close her eyes. What wasn't comfortable? Laying like this? It was actually quite comfortable! When she felt the tug at her obi her brow furrowed, turning her head enough to peer at him through a section of black hair that parted itself to allow her to see through it. "Seiji.." She frowned. What was he--ah! He was taking her obi off! She whined. "Seiji, noooooo." Junko whined, trying to swat his hand away. She was too tired! It took her a second to realize what he was doing, sighing happily at the kiss despite her protests. And the shoulder rubbing! It felt amazing! She melted a bit at the touch, making happy little noises. "'Kaaaay." Junko sat up with a strained groan, just how tired she was hitting her like a sack of bricks the moment she'd sat on the bed. It was weird how things like that worked. She held her kimono closed until a shirt was brought to her, slipping it and the layer underneath it off her shoulders to reveal...
A red wifebeater that was clearly not hers. She may have forgotten she was wearing it.
A faint snort followed her protests, eyes rolling. Really now, he wasn't inconsiderate. He didn't have to defend himself though as she caught on to what it was he was actually doing, and he chuckled as she worked at sitting up straight once again. The hand of her shoulder steadying her so she wouldn't just fall over again. The shirt he was going to offer her was actually the one off his back, having pulled it over his head as she slipped her kimono off her shoulders, but he paused with the t-shirt still on his arms as he spotted what she had on beneath the dress. "That looks familiar." Now when exactly had she managed to nab that? Not that he minded, she could keep it, he had plenty and she looked quite nice in his shirt. He was just curious.
"I suppose that'll work well enough for something to sleep in." Dropping his own shirt on the floor, he pulled the covers down on the bed. An arm curling around her wait to tug her off the comforter, pulling it up over her legs as he climbed under the covers beside her. She'd mentioned not wanting to sleep the rest of the day away. But considering how drowsy she already was he didn't bother asking how long she'd want to sleep, and instead set the alarm on his phone for 6:30, giving them a solid three hours to sleep away the fatigue. He set it on the table beside them before moving further below the blanket, pulling the ghoul against his chest as his free arm slid beneath her pillow. Lips cool against her forehead as he murmured to her. "I'm glad you're here."
Junko didn't miss a beat as he commented on the shirt she was wearing. "I don't see why. It's mine." She yawned and shook her head, getting up off the bed only so she could carefully hang her kimono over the back of a chair. She'd put it up properly later. The skirt was also removed, tugging the shirt down as she walked back to the bed and climbed onto it in time for him to tug her closer. This was much better, he was right again!
Junko nuzzled her head under Seiji's chin, pressing her face against his neck with a happy sigh. The Mistress was strangely quiet; Junko's lack of energy must have been the reason for it. Even her hair was nearly lifeless, moving only to curl and move out of the way, pulling itself out from underneath the blanket to lie atop of them. Usually Junko put her hair up for this, but she didn't feel like it. She smiled as he kissed her forehead and spoke, nodding and draping an arm over him, the other sliding between them to rest against his chest. "I'm glad I'm here, too. Thank you, Seiji." Junko murmured, drifting off to sleep rather quickly. She had no idea what he set the time for, and frankly she didn't care as long as it was still the same day when they awoke.
