Something unexpected is happening in the colony -
Sakura, son of the traitorous
Mkorogo and devout
Sayuri, has brought home a leopardess,
Shakuntala. The thing is, when she came in, she was still recovering from some nasty injuries, including amnesia. She remembers nothing about her past, and BARELY holds on to her own name. She's getting better, but she's forgotten a pretty big thing - The cheetah who 'saved' her from a crush of rhinos. Regardless, her presence is very welcome.
But there's more to it than just that. She'll be pregnant by the time this part of the plot fully kicks off. It won't be ICly known who the father is/was. The only seer in the colony's gone missing, so it won't be until the cubs are born that the father's species(!) will be revealed.
So what does this mean?
A hybrid litter will be in the colony, incidentally about the time the disease strikes, and Dume comes in.
FYI, for OOC purposes, the father will be
Marakaraka'kumba. NOBODY ICly is to know this, and if someone speculates that a cheetah fathered the cubs, they will be politely PMd by the mule and asked to remove the speculation. As far as ANYBODY will guess, it was a leopard - Either Sakura, who's had the most contact with her, or some other boy out in the wilds of the grasslands.
So what will happen to the cubs?Normally, the cubs would be killed on sight, and the mother cleansed of the impurity, but Sayen, thanks to her mother, and the fact her brother fell in love with a lioness, takes a much kinder approach. The cubs, in her eyes, are inoccents, it's not their fault, and with the knowledge of the mother's amnesia, it's not seen as HER fault, either. As such, she won't have them killed right away. This is where the rest of the colony comes in - The leopards of the colony will decide! This will be a large ORP, where everybody gets to post with each leopard they own in the colony casting their vote. Borrowing from the Motoujamii's voting thread... There will be only one poll option of something like.. "Gold whore" or something. This can count for a JRP from us, since there'll be so many leopards coming in!
To note, the cubs will NOT die. If the colony's favor is for killing them, they will simply be smuggled out and everybody told they were drowned in the river. It's a big jungle, it wouldn't be hard to believe.
