 With a grunt and a scowl, Lilith had yet again found herself stuck in another sticky mess. Her bracelet was firmly fastened to a stubborn branch, and she was yanking with little effect at the damned branch. If only she was tall enough to reach it with her horns.... Dammit. Fruit were not worth this. Her ability to get stuck in the strangest situations had always gotten her hurt and scarred, though she was a tough vixen. She always bounced back up.
Why was she here? She didn't know. Xavier was not around anymore and she found herself slightly.... lonely. She had become accustomed to the company of either Amy or Xavier, and now that both had their own lives she was rather.... perplexed at what to do with herself. Recently, she had met Naru, a male that seemed to find a way to coax a non-rash response out of her. Though, he too had wandered off, and she was left here, stuck to a damn branch. Again.

 Naru was flat on his back, all four paws in the air sunbathing in a small patch of sun. He had gone off to see his friend Csistri, but had gotten to her cave just in time for her to run out of it. She called a 'sorry, I have to go eat humphries' over her shoulder as she departed...whatever that meant. Girls were strange. Speaking of girls...Naru's mind wandered to that one female he had met recently, Lilith was her name and she apparently knew Toxic. Lilith was an odd looking fox, but she was nice and Naru put little store in looks anyway.
Ears perking suddenly, Naru moved his head to catch the sound he had heard. There was a loud, insistent rustling coming from somewhere too his left and it sounded like someone was caught in a trap. Maybe a rabbit was caught in one of those snares, Naru thought happily. It would be a quick, easy meal. So thinking, Naru hopped up and headed towards the rustling.
It wasn't a rabbit. Naru looked on in stunned amusement as the female he was just thinking about seemed attached to a tree. "Lilith? What...what happened?" He asked, coming closer. He looked for a human trap but she didn't seem to be caught in one. It looked more like her bracelet was tangled. "Ah. Here, let me help."

At the sound of rustling, Lilith snarled, her wariness returning. Then, a orange, red, and white male emerged and his name clicked, Naru. Strange, she had just been thinking of him. With an annoyed scowl at the branch, she tugged once more at his first question.
"I was trying to get some food, and it attacked me." She grumbled, slightly embarrassed to be caught like this. Luckily she wasn't hurt, like the last time she was caught stuck in a messy situation.
At his offer she blinked at the male, tail flicking absently before sighing. It couldn't be helped, she was stuck and this was literally the only way, unless she wanted to wait for herself to starve enough to slip out of the bracelet. With a low grumble she nodded. "....Fine. Don't go telling anyone I got stuck."

"Now why," Naru asked as he hopped up onto the branch, "would I do that? It can hardly be used as blackmail if everyone knew." He shot a smile at her to show he was teasing and stretched his body along the branch. He held on tight with his paws, claws digging into the bark as he studied the tangle of chain and leaf.
A large smile and a quick flick of the paw later, Lilith was free once again. Naru snagged two pieces of the fruit from the tree and hopped back down, offering one to Lilith with a wag of the tail. He was very glad to see this female again.

Once she was released she flexed her paw, setting it down and inspecting her bracelet. When she deemed both were safe, she finally glanced up at Naru just in time to spot him handing her a fruit, taking it and moving it to her paws so she could get to work at slicing it in half.
"Either way, what would people think if they heard I was beaten by a tree?" She glared at said tree. 'If only I was a "Daeva, I could teach it a lesson." With this, she cut through the fruit, lapping up some juice with a wiggle of her tail. It didn't take to long for black eyes to look up at Naru, realizing she was being rude, and even if she was the queen of being rude it was only to those that deserved it. Lilith was either someones best friend, or a b***h. She choose her friends carefully, Blanca being one, and Xavier. She was loyal and forgiving to them. Then there was Blanca's rival, who Lilith had threatened to rip to shreds when the rival had spat some nonsense at Blanca's child.
See, perfect example. And Naru was not an enemy, so her b***h factor was barely even there, though she wouldn't hold back her tongue or sarcasm. Rubbing her horns against the bark as a retaliation to the tree, she glanced at Naru.
"Thank you, though I so could have done that myself. Eventually." Pause, again. "Though I am grateful." Hmpf, Amy had taught her how to be "nicer", and it seemed Lilith was learning well.

Naru laughed and chewed on his own fruit. He licked his lips and answered her rhetorical question. "They'd probably think you had recently gotten that bracelet, or that you were clumsy. No one I know would think less of you though. I do ridiculous things all the time, so you probably wouldn't even be noticed." He wagged his tail in amusement and went back to his fruit.
He looked up again at her less than gracious gratitude and smiled in return. "You're welcome." He chirped. He noticed the scratches on the tree and glanced back at her horns. "Those are pretty cool. Did you get them from your mom or your dad?"

With a flick of her tail, she seemed to be amused, letting out a rough laugh. Chewing her fruit for a second, she raised an eyebrow at his question, eyes raising to where her horns were, even if she couldn't see them. Looking down at the fruit absently, odd tail lashing back and forth idly.
"Dad I believe." She wasn't one to get tense over her parents, even if they weren't the best ones ever. "Don't know about mom much. I was a crack breeding kid, and me having horns was the last straw for her."
She shrugged, yawning. "They can be pretty awesome, though they need to be sharpened quite a bit."

"Really? A crackbreeding? Cool. I don't even know my parents; Csistri and I pretty much raised ourselves." Naru smiled and wagged his tail at the thought of his friend. "I don't think that was very nice of your mother to do that, especially since your horns are interesting and nice."
"Did you have to end up raising yourself like my friend and I did? Or did you find someone nice enough to help you?" Naru asked. He didn't really know why he was prying so much, but he did want to know more about her. And he was going to ask questions until Lilith told him to stop.

Lilith blinked at him, her tail lashing to one side. Was he curious about her? Strange.... She never met someone that asked about her, and she didn't know how she felt about it. Rubbing a paw over one horn in thought.
"Yes and no." She mused, clicking her tongue bitterly. "Old man raised me for a little, then he got sick of it and left one day." She grumbled slightly before glancing at Naru, nails digging into the ground.
"You grew up by yourself?" She asked, blinking. "With this Csistri girl?"

"I'm sorry about your parents. Many of them don't seem too reliable, though I suppose I could always hold out hope that mine were waylaid or something." Naru shook his head. "But I don't, really, cause it doesn't matter. I'm grown and don't really need them anymore, do I?" He smiled and finished his fruit.
"Yep. she protected my back, I protected hers. We found each other as kits and have been together ever since." Naru paused and tilted his head. That statement wasn't entirely true. "Well...until recently. She met some fox that I think she's interested in. She doesn't have much time for me anymore, but that's alright. She always wanted a family, and I'm happy she has the chance to get one.

She shrugged at the mention of parents, tail flicking side to side, rolling her now eaten fruit to the side, having left only the core. Now with a full belly she was somewhat tolerable, chewing on her bottom lip as Naru spoke. "So, you basically adopted one another." She mused. It reminded her of Blanca and Amy, to vixens she had become friendly with. Ah, yes, even she could become friendly. Well, that wasn't fair. She was friendly to those that deserved it.
"You should visit her, then." She added, smirking darkly. "I used to visit a blind vixen and tease her relentlessly, it was quite fun to watch her squirm. It caused her to be more confident and find a mate." Mates, she was growing sick of hearing that word. Mates. It reminded her of the fact that she had almost zero possibility of finding a mate.

"I suppose you could say that. I don't know if we think of each other as brother and sister though. Maybe more like best friends." Naru replied, frowning lightly to himself. Explaining a bond that you've had all your life was hard. It was like trying to explain that the sky was blue or the rain was wet.
He looked up again at her suggestion and smiled. "I just did. We're actually not too far from her den. She ran off though, saying some cryptic phrase as she left." Naru shrugged. "You really harrassed a blind fox?" he asked in amusement. He wasn't outraged about it, after all, Lilith did say that the fox got self confidence and a mate out of it.

Letting out a little laugh, Lilith nodded. Ahh, those were the good times~ "Amy, a blind vixen who is my friend actually. I decided that her being scared of everything had to stop." She laughed, shaking her head at the memories. "My theory was, make her so mad she'd snap one day, and she did. Of course right after she blushed and began to panic, saying she was so sorry."
Her tail rolled, grinning ear to ear. "After that she grew a spine." Now, Lilith was often given a look like she was a b***h, but it was moments like these that she showed she could and did care about people, genuinely. Amy had been someone she wanted to help, and she was infidelity proud in both herself and Amy for their progress.

Naru shot Lilith an amused glance. He knew best friends could be mean to each other, all for the best reasons usually, but a blind fox? Most would just coddle her...even Naru himself would have probably coddled her. "It's a good thing Amy met you then. Otherwise she might have run into an mean fox and gotten into big trouble if she couldn't take care of herself."
Naru studied Lilith for a moment, aware that she wasn't going to be like anyone else he had ever met. He flipped his tail and grinned at the vixen. "So what do you usually do? Aside from getting stuck on branches?" he smiled to soften the sting of his teasing.

She laughed, shaking her head. "I have tough love, I guess. She always said if I had kids it'd be amusing to see." She went cold at that, tail stopping its wagging.
Kids.
She wagged her tail again, breaking that moment where she went numb inside. "What?" She had almost missed his question, blinking. She glared at the branch briefly, smirking. "I used to stick around my friend, but he vanished. So for now I've been looking for something interesting to do, maybe find someone who needs my help or something. How bout you?"
