The Sun was out, but the day had just started. The morning was a little chilly, but it was starting to heat up. There were a couple of clouds slowly drifting through the sky. It was going to be beautiful out. If only there was something to do.
Sun Chaser was floating down the river letting him scales soak and for the first time in a week he was relaxing. He had been tromping around on dry land, only stopping to rehydrate himself and eat when he absolutely had to. It had to have been one of the most boring in his life. He hadn't seen any other Soquili and hadn't heard any whispers about anything that would be remotely interesting.
Sun Chasers ears perked up; there was the crashing sound of a waterfall up ahead. "Time to get out, I guess," he muttered to himself as he started swimming to the edge of the river. Once on land he continued to walk parallel to the river until he came to the waterfall. It wasn't too much of a drop-off, but he didn't feel like messing around with a waterfall today, last time he had the water had been fairly shallow and he had almost broke a leg. They could be fun, but it is always better to scout out what’s in the water at bottom of it first. Waterfall aside Sun Chaser saw open water in the distance. That was very curious to him; he had never been to the beach or the ocean before. His curiosity getting the best of him he looked away from the waterfall towards his side and found a little path that would get him down to the bottom of the drop-off.

Cyllene wasn't the type of Seathi who would stay inside her cave sleeping off the previous night's antics when there was more fun to be had. And was there fun to be had this particular hour of the morning? Well, perhaps. Perhaps not. Either way she had been awfully uncomfortable and try as she might, she simply could not sleep.
A brief shiver rolled down between her shoulder blades, making her iridescent body ripple. Though the sun was shining through the dark water around her, it was yet too early for the heat to puncture through the bleak chill. Maybe the beach would be a good place to go. It'll be warmer in the shallower water, and after last night's waves some treasures might have been swept up onto the shore. A mischievous glint sparked within her eye as she altered her course slightly, heading away from the underwater cave where she made her abode.
Shiny things always washed up on the shore after rougher weather, everyone knew that. It was early yet, so maybe she would beat the other beach-crawlers who would try to steal her beautiful shells and other bits and bobs. Cyllene had to admit, she loved treasure. Her entire cave was littered with odds and ends. A broken vase here, a shiny necklace there, a bright blue shell (the inhabitant of which made a tasty dinner one night) lying in the corner. Treasure collecting was fun, and this Seathi loved fun more than anything else.

Sun Chaser carefully found his was down to the bottom of the waterfall, he looked at the water that was cascading off of the ledge. It looked like tons of fun, he might need to come back and try it later, but first to visit this curiousity that was in the opposite direction.
He had been on sand before, but as he walked out of the woods and onto the beach he noticed that it felt and smelled differently then all of the other sandy beaches that he had been on. Even more curious were the shells that littered the beach. They came in all sizes and almost every color. Sun was curious about why everything smelled weird, the closer he got to the water the saltier it smelled. 'How peculiar...' he thought trying to remember if he had heard anything about this body of water.
He set those thoughts aside as he ventured into the water. Sun Chaser shivered as the water moved around him, it felt so different... it moved different. This body of water was mysterious and unknown, what he wouldn't give to explore it.

Peeking out of a cover of kelp, the seathi looked towards the direction of the beach. She was almost there. A couples of minutes of swimming and she'd hit the super shallow water, where she could rest her body on the sand and keep her head above water at the same time. Her eyes carefully scanned around for any strangers, after all, this was her beach, and those shells and trinkets would soon be her treasures. She couldn't put up with anyone taking what was rightfully hers!
At first glance, she didn't see anyone. Grinning widely, Cyllene swam out from the sparse cover and made a dash for the shore. Wait... was that a glint of gold? She altered her course, heading straight for the mysterious shimmering. No! It moved?!? She suddenly screeched to a halt, eyes shooting open. No, it was someone alive! Those were shining, beautiful legs, and dark orange hooves. Live specimens could be much more interesting than just another trinket.
She purposely moved forwards again, ears pricked forwards in curiosity. Who was this unknown person visiting her shore?
Deadly Nonchalance I'm so sorry for taking so long Dxxxx I promise to reply from now on. So sorry Dxxx

His nostrils flared as he stood in the surf trying to figure out the stench of this water. He stood there watching the ebb and flow of the water, sometimes depositing plants or other bits on the beach. In the distance huge waves crashed.
Curious Sun Chaser moved farther into the water, feeling it tug at him harder the farther in he got. The actual level ranging from the base of his neck to his knees based on the size of the waves, when he stopped again. His braids and fins were gently getting pushed and pulled with the flow of the water. Chaser bent his head down to lap up some of the water and immediately spat it out, it was way to salty for his tastes. He looked around curiously, there had to be something in this water that makes it taste like this.

Cyllene swam in a wide semi-circle around the owner of the strange, pale golden legs, eyeing him both curiously and cautiously. They looked fairly small for one of the big land-walkers, and there were definitely four of them. Was he one of those whatcha-ma-call-'ems? Usdia? She experimentally edged closer, trying to stay just out of view for now, curiosity too big to reveal herself yet.
He was definitely too small to be a full-sized land-walker. But... were those fins? Her eyes shot open, a snort of disbelief bubbling out of her nose. The only four-legged Soq with fins she knew of were kelpies, and he most certainly did not look like a kelpie.
Then he did something really bizarre. He bent his head down and just drank the water. Didn't he know sea water was salty and bitter? She, of course, was used to it, but she lived in it all day every day, he didn't. At that, her curiosity grew too great. Sticking her head above the water, she latched her legs around a small rock that just jutted out enough to give her some good purchase.
"Hey there, stranger. I probably wouldn't recommend drinking that." Her nose twitched in amusement.
