Age: Unknown
Race: Supposedly a Grey Warden
Gender: Male
Class: Mage
Specialty: Supposedly an Arcane Warrior, but people have taken to calling him a Dark Blade. It is known, however, that he does dabble in the arts of Blood and Death magics, and is therefore a blood mage.
Personality: Sage can be overly blunt at times, while at others he's entirely flexible. His mood shifts on impulse, though his speech always contains a hint of amusement. He despises the human race, but at the same time loves it. He has a strong sense of loyalty and would sacrifice anything to protect those close to him and the order.
History: All know of Sage, the Blood Raven and Dark Blade. A man feared and admired across Orlais and Ferelden for his many exploits on the battlefield. He stands as the last of a group known as the Knights of the Raven, a lone survivor after a fateful trip into the Deep Roads.
The Knights of the Raven were a mercenary band who made their home along the Orlesian border. They had members who hailed from every country in Thedas and each of them were said to have a legend of their own. They were men and women respected by all, and feared by their enemies. The Knights sold their skills to all who needed them and were said to have taken part in the war to reclaim Ferelden from the Orlesians, and are often said to be one of Marec's greatest assets. They were fearless, tactful, and powerful.. And Sage stood at their front.
He was one of few mages the Knights would take and had spent many years earning his place among them, despite discrimination from those in the band. For such dedication he was recognized by Lord Blackthorn, the head Knight, and was kept close at his side, fighting as his right hand. For his blood magic, which had gained the fear and hate of others in the band, and his odd thirst for the red substance, Sage was given the title "The Blood Raven" by Lord Blackthorn, and his left hand, The Silver Knight. Sage continued to fight battles and undergo quests for the knights until they reached the pit of their despair.
Nearing the end of the Blight, the Knights had already lost many lives to the darkspawn in the defense of Ferelden, and their coffers were all but spent. So, Lord Blackthorn gathered as many of his Knights as he could and planned a venture into the Deep Roads while the darkspawn were above land. Blackthorn led them to slaughter. The Knights were all but wiped out in the Deep Roads by the darkspawn who had surged underground after the defeat of the Archdemon. Sage was the only one to escape.
Injuried heavily, Sage stumbled out of the Deep Roads, carrying the dying Blackthorn in his arms. He only remained conscious long enough to hear his lord whisper his final farewell. When Sage awoke he found himself lying by a fire, opposite a man he had never seen before. The man only introduced himself as a Warden Commander and said that, for saving his life, Sage owed his life to the Wardens. Sage could not refuse such claims, and under the guidance of the Warden, left for Vigil's Keep, where he underwent the joining.
Now, Sage wanders almost aimlessly around Thedas, earnestly searching for the Warden Commander, the Hero of Ferelden. For, he believes that something is arising from the darkness. Something that will once again call the Wardens into battle..

Picture or description of your character:
Sage is roughly six feet, five inches tall with a rather pale complexion and hair as black as the night sky. His eyes are blood red, and often have slit pupils instead of those of a human. He has a decently muscular physique, though he is rather lean, the majority of his muscles not fully showing, and his canines are bit longer than those of an average man. There are no scars on Sage's body, however he does have a tattoo on his right shoulder. It is of a spread wing raven with crossed swords behind it. To the Knights, Sage has never appeared entirely human. They say a dark aura radiates from him in battle, and his eyes glow red as the blood flies. He is most commonly seen in black armor he designed after that of a Revenant he slayed in the Brescilian Forest. The armor is black with light plate covering the upper half of his body with silver ribs going down from just under his chest to below his waist, in imitation of skeletal ribs. His legs are hidden by a black cloth with silver skull chains adorning the front, the cloth hangs just above his feet. His legs are covered in light plate armor in the same design as his upper armor. The armor seems to be made of something stronger than even Silverite. In camp he wears plain black clothes and a cloak adorned with the Knights of the Raven insignia.

Curiosities: Sage is one of very, very few Grey Wardens who seem to be virtually unaffected by the taint. While others before him may never have to go on their Calling, Sage seems to have been bonded with the taint, or with some other equally dark, pre-existing power. It is commonly believed he is not human, and the only reason he survived the Deep Roads was because of an unnatural regeneration power that he seems to possess.
Weapons: Sage carries two magical blades; Genesis and Soul Render. The first is a crimson bladed long sword with a rapier style guard and a silver cross guard. The blade is lined with silver runes that produce blood red flames, adding to the lethality of the weapon. The latter is a longsword with a midnight black blade with a silver handle bound in leather. Runes adorn this blade as well, giving it the ability to absorb energy and the life force of those it cuts.
Personal Philosophy: Only those immersed in darkness can truly save the light.
Battle Phrases: "All I see are corpses that have yet to fall." "Can't we just skip to the part where you fall?" "It's going to take an army of you to take me down."
Knockout Phrases: "Give me a few seconds..." "When I get back up, you're all dead..." "Had to bring an army..."
Exiting Battle Phrases: "They should have brought an army." "The crows will eat well.."
"Select " Phrases: "Yes, what do you need?" "Something need killing?"
"Deselect" Phrases: "See you later, then." "Okay then.."
Tent Acceptances: "Well then, shall we?" "Somehow I knew it would come to this."
Tent Rejections: "Sorry, but no." "Maybe another time.." "I have better taste." "I really don't swing that way!"
Companion Quest: Somewhere in the deep roads is a silver knife that belonged to his closest friend, the Silver Knight. Should you find this knife, it would surely gain the appreciation and affection of Sage.
