Aeternus Victoria Biography: Manchester was born between the illicit affair of a Russian privateer, simply known as Dashkov and minor, but respectable duchess within the English royal family, Elizabeth Sheffield.
His privateer of father left after the sexual deed, leaving Elizabeth alone to raise the young Manchester, and for the Sheffield name to receive scorn and ridicule since then. Used to pampering, conflict foreign to him, thus growing up timid, the young Englishman was always the subject of disdainful rumors, such as "whore child" or "the Ignoble b*****d". Of course, his mother tried her best to shield him from such ilk, the results were counter productive, and the relationship grew cold.
Whilst the bond between mother and son grew strained over the course of sixteen years, Manchester deeply cared for his mother, and took her death due to illness, as profoundly as lad would, with tears and sorrow. Since his mother had always told him the lies of the nobility, such as his surname was still respected among the higher ranks of society, the young man was shocked to learn the ultimate truth; that said royals had long since disowned them, her death treated with some manner of excuse and his own sense of identity, utterly worthless.
With his very existence denied, any manner of comfort stripped and any wealth once held pilfered from under his chambers, Manchester wandered around the English countryside, discontented, on the verge of death. Never a firm believer in the Anglican version of providence, even he could not deny the blessing Heaven had bestowed upon him. The salty breeze, urgent shouts, wafting smell from the Ports of Commerce.
Seizing the opportunity, Manchester joined a band of Dutch merchants headed towards the East Indies. It was here, that the nautical bearings of his father took root, his love of the seas fostered, no others live known during his decade of traveling between the ports in Amsterdam, Japan, the Americas and Java. Loading spices, jewels, teas and clothing from these exotic lands filled with the knowledge of peoples, quite different from his own lot in the small world. Fight the privateers, men and women much like his father, filled with courage and the private resolve that providence had blessed him, the son of a pirate.
Yet, the memories of England, his mother, the brief description of his father constantly called out to him.
"A gruff looking man, yet gentle in speech. A lover of spirits, however never submitting to the level of drunkard. Passionate eyes of green, and a will which ultimately called the sea his mistress."He aspired to succeed, to be like his father, to ride the waves.
At the age of twenty-six, the now hardened Manchester set out to find a ship of his own, once again discontent with his lot in life, traveling the wide expanse of ocean, for the sake of pitiful rewards, whilst the monarchs reaped every benefit. Gathering a loyal cadre of comrades, they overtook the Fluyt within the middle of the night, She was theirs by dawn, reborn
Aeternus Victoria, the Latin form of Eternal Victory.
He took, discarded the surname of Sheffield, taking the name of his father "Dashkov" and the Balkan name of "Izark", meaning
one who wants to be and keeping the namesake of "Manchester", in honor of thine mother, as the archaic scriptures command.
Now, at the age of thirty years upon the gods green earth, he truly feels worthy to call the sea his Mistress, yet the vessel which he has labored for several years, his Wife.
Personality: Respecting ambition, Manchester does not tolerate coups against his command, asking loyalty from his crew, from the lowest swag to closest confidant. He follows the old motto, "Never ask your crew to do something, you would not do yourself." Only time will tell if he can keep such a demeanor, now that he is in command upon the unforgiving seas.
Preferred Weapons: Swords, particularly rapiers, but has a flirtation with the musket and flintlock of the age.
