Horses: I think Alyssium loves horses but living in the city has no need for one and while I believe her mother's bakery does quite well, buying a horse would still be a great luxury.
Musings: Father is alive and well, is in her life, but maybe doesn't live with the family? I could use him as a catalyst -- he could either be married to Alyssium's mother with a mistress (who he lives with if he indeed does not live with the family or in the town around Makai Royal Academy?) or her mother could be the mistress. That could certainly be a shock at some point.

Tidbits: Half-brother of Drusilla Resi Spini; they share the same father Umberto -- a soldier. Umberto was a man with gray morals and an unknown magic of charm that only came out when he was attracted to someone. He had his good traits: protective, wonderful at listening, in general a good problem solver; but he was not without flaws. He saw nothing wrong with sleeping with a married woman if she wanted to sleep with him. That wasn't to say it was a habit but when it happened, it was not his fault or something to regret.
Kieve shares his father's talent for charm except he knows it even as he does not know his father. Unlike Drusilla, he was not raised by a family of his own or his mother.
His mother -- Cianna Eadoin (meaning Ancient Jealousy in Irish) -- is quite a mystery to him. He knows that she loves him but she doesn't seem to trust herself to stay around; he refuses to consider why even though he's quite sure she's a majin, or even worse a witch eater.
