"In the universe there are many sources of energy from which beings are created, but those souls who at some point in their creation are earthbound, even if only momentarily, as in the case of an unborn fetus or stillborn child, these are created from one of the earth's five elemental energy groups.
Let's take a look at these five energy sources, the soul's power supply, and see if we can immediately recognize which one "is us."
Our first group, created from the energy of Fire, is compromised of those individuals who are driven and propelled by their emotions. Influenced by a powerful and sometimes hard-to-control energy, the individual born of Fire is likely to be somewhat uncompromising and willful, but also passionate, fascinating, creative, and challenging. The Fire energy group of souls is driven by and acts through their emotions.
Our second group, created from the energy of Earth, is influenced by an energy that is powerful, though sometimes hidden beneath the surface. Earth energy produces an individual who is sometimes misunderstood and underestimated by others, who will be resourceful even when they are most afraid, and, most of all, who is compelled to take action. The Earth energy group of sould is driven by and acts through planning and strategizing.
Coming to our third group, created from the energy of Air, we have those who are influenced by an energy so seemingly unobtrusive that it might go unnoticed. A strong energy, yet quietly so, calm and gentle, it manifests in individuals who are easygoing if somewhat passive or passive-aggressive, and who feel a need to please. The Air energy group is driven by and acts through frustration or oppression.
Group four, created from the energy of Water, includes individuals with a strong sense of fairness and the ability to compromise, who thrive on peace and harmony, and who like everyone to be happy. The Water energy group is driven by and acts through evaluation and compromise.
Our fifth and final group, created from the energy of Sulphur, is the Dark Soul. Unlike the other four groups, each one producing three clearly individual soul signs, the Dark Soul has only one sign, although there are three different degrees of this energy. This soul emits energy that is without light and is devoid of God. It is comsumed by evil and feeds on pain, fear, and destruction. The Sulphur energy group is driven by and acts through a desire to corrupt.

"As you read the descriptions of each group again, you might seem to fit into more than one. When I heard the description of the Earth sign, I knew it was me. Then I read the description of the Water sign, and that too seemed to be me. As the Earth sign and the Water sign have a lot in common, both needing to evaluate situations, both able to stand back, to figure things out calmly and unemotionally, my confusion was not surprising. I seemed to fit both, but not really. The influence of Earth energy means that when all the evaluating and strategizing are done, an actin of some sort is demanded. The influence of Water is different. Yes, they plan, they strategize, but unlike our Earth signs, an action is not always necessary, except the action of compromise. And too much evaluating, which our Water signs can be prone to, often results in nonaction. Earth signs are proactive, they need action. Water signs do not. Another thing that rules me out as a Water sign is that although I am often willing to compromise it is not my natural inclination; I have to work at it. So although I can behave in so many ways just like the other groups, my need to plan and act places me securely as an Earth sign.
One of my students first thought she was an Air sign, as she saw herself as passive and pliable. Yet as she read the description of the Fire sign, it too resonated. Which was she, maybe a little of both? Yes, of course, as part of the earth soul cluster we all have a little in us of each energy. But what my student eventually realized is that her perceived passivity was more a repression of her emotions. Through behavior learned over many years, she had developed the ability to supress her feelings, to store them inside. But this had been a struggle, as her passionate nature was always simmering under the surface. She is definitely a Fire sign.
What we have to do is look at what it is that drives us to take action. Is it passion? Is it planning? Is it frustration or oppression? Is it a need to find ways to make things work through compromise?
Let's look again at the five energy groups, this time in a little more detail, and see if we can become clearer on our own energy force.

FIRE. Passion and emotion can be as obvious as the brigghtest flame, or as unobtrusive as coals nestled in a bank of ash. Loud, crackling, with sparks flying, or inwardly and quietly simmering, passionate, always with the potential to burst out, exciting, creative, sometimes controlled, sometimes not. Warmhearted, extremely sensitive, spirited, impassioned, complusive, bright and blazing, mysterious and mood, or inwardly burning with inspirations. Influenced by and acting through emotion.
Is this you?

EARTH. Earth signs are planners and strategists. They have an innate sense of groundedness. Realistic and able to reationalize, rock solid and reliable, practical and sensible, inwardly having a hard core, a depth of reasoning that goes beyond emotions and allows for concrete and objective thinking. Influential, intentioned, always ready to take action, supportive, safe, and often possessing timely, groundbreaking, and innovative ideas. Always productive, with a sense of fair play and right intention. Generally focused and instinctive.
Is this you?

AIR. Air signs are passive, dislike conflicts, are able to rise above the turmoil and angst of the world, except in those moments of updraft or downdraft, when currents of deep emotion might cause a swift and unexpected reaction, sometimes, although rarely, in the proportions of a monsoon or tornade, quick to come and quick to go. Generally easy-going, easily inspired, able to go with the flow, light and cheerful, able to float, adapting to most situations and circumstances without fuss, mostly open, what-you-see-is-what-you-get, hopeful of people and outcomes, trusting, and gentle. Acts only when driven by frustraion or held down by oppression.
Is this you?

WATER. Water signs are signs of navigation and detour, able to coast along or be forceful, fluid and easygoing, waters running deep, which means deep emotions and needs can become submerged, swamped, or waterlogged in certain situations. Able to flow, to move with the tide, to find a way around things, to follow the natural course or flow of energy rather than battle against it, ebbing and flowing, winding and rippling, capable of bubbling or floating, always trying to move on a steady course.
Is this you?

SULPHUR. The last group in our cluster of souls is the sign of sulphur, a foaming, wrathful, and enraging energy. Whether hidden or obvious, always smoldering, sizzling, or just plain boiling, clever and cunning or obviously incense and violent, this is a torrid force that is passionately and angrily demonic, and, indeed, damned.
Is this you?"

"At this point, you should have a pretty good idea of your energy group, but for those of you still not sure, see which group of statements below resonates most with you.

* You sometimes have regrets, but nonetheless you revel in the joy of having created an effect, whether good or bad. You live in a drama of sorts, either emotionally or creatively.

As you read, keep in mind that this is not about what you would like to see yourself as but the real you. Other than the fifth group, which most of us are not, don't be afraid that one group is better, more powerful, or more desirable that another. Each of the four primary groupos has equal merits. Each is desirable in its own way. I am glad to be an Earth sign, but I'm so grateful for my friends and colleagues who are those Fire, Air, and Water signs. Life would be boring if we were all the same, and our learning potential would be very limited."

"Most of you have already decided, from what you have read so far, which energy group you belong to. Others may not yet have made a definite determination. "Can I be in more than one group?" you might ask. "Is it possible to be both Earth and Water, or Fire and Air?" The answer is no, absolutely not.
What can and does confuse us is that each of the four sould types is capable of feeling and dealing with situations in the same way, and getting the same results. What makes us different, what puts us firmly into the different categories of Fire, Eath, Air, Water, and Sulphur, is our life force, the elemental influence which propels us into action. Is is not the end result of our actions that we need to look at, it is more the process: how we think, how we feel, what it is that goes on in our minds, our hearts. What influence is it, what type of energy is it that we instinctively feel? What type of energy is it that drives us to evaluate, to become frustrated, to be influenced by our emotions, or to stragegize and then to act or not to act in ony way or another?
In our work arena, in our leisure time, as we play, and in our romantic relationships, our particular energy groud influences our emotions and actions. So here are some more real-life examples of the typical responses of our soul groups. Let's see how we'd react.

"You have been invited to a function; it might be a wedding, a fancy business dinner, the theater, or maybe an important family get-together. You really don't want to go but have been made to feel obligated, to feel guilt if you do not go--emotional blackmail.
Would you

* Feel furious at yourself for feeling guilty and refuse to go?
* Go, but make your feelings known and leave as quickly as you can?
* Try to change the venue or call others and influence them to do things your way?

Any or all of these would be typical responses of a Fire sign.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Or would you

* Quietly make other arrangements and feel little or no guilt?
* Go, but take someone with you whom you know you can have fun with?
* Evaluate your actions against the feelings of others and go, making the best of it, or not go, with no feelings of guilt?

Any or all of these would be typical responses of an Earth sign.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Or would you

* Accept the situation and simply live through it?
* Feel frustrated and upset at having to go, maybe show some emotion to those close to you but say nothing to those responsible?
* Keep your feelings of frustration to yourself and pretend you have another engagement but have pangs of guilt?

Any or all of these would be typical responses of an Earth sign.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Or would you

* Make up your mind to go, try to keep the peace, and do what you can to ensure that everyone you know has a good time despite the circumstances?
* Go for part of the time or arrange another time when you can all get together?
* Think up a way to have a good time?

Any or all of these would be typical responses of a Water sign."
