History: Viddle is a middle child to a fisherman and a vintner, who grew up in a small sea hold between the northern continent and the island Ista is located on. Being a middle child, she tended to get shuffled around as is common in large families she didn’t expect it to be any different just for her. From her father she gained a love of the sea, and from her older sister who helped to raise her, gained a passion for glass. This passion grew when she came upon a tube of glass in the sand, formed by lightening striking the beach the night before in a storm. Because she didn’t have any real skill when it came to fishing or anything else hold related, but had a knack for finding the odd glass tubes after storms. With some encouragement from her older sister, Viddle’s father sent her to Ista to become a glass smith as well. She flourished here thanks to her ability to take a joke, which she was often subject to, and her happy disposition.

At when she first progressed to being able to actually blow her own products she had a tendency to accidently break the finer pieces with her grip. As long as she focuses she doesn’t break things by the time she walked the tables to become a journey woman with the rest of her age mates. After a quick visit back home she went on to Benden hold to help with the bottle production for the wine makers. She was there until just after her 20th day of birth, before being searched. She of course thought about it, for she had a solid living as she was, but it was also just a turn before she would be too old to stand. So she agreed to go with the search pair to attempt standing the sands at Benden Weyr.

Viddle always knew she was a little different from most of the other girls in her home hold, and this knowledge only increased when she went to Ista to train. She always had looked at girls when her age mates were looking at boys. As a child she loved affection, hugs and kisses, but as she grew older and realized she was different she stopped asking for hugs from friends for fear that if they found out, they would second guess every hug they had given her. So even when she left home and could start over letting people know right off the sands that she was a lesbian, she didn’t for fear that they wouldn’t like her. And again she did the same when she went to Benden Hold. She worked making glass for less than a full turn before she was searched, and she agreed to go, she had a little over a turn at the time she was searched to stand the sands. If she didn't impress before she grew too old, she could return to her craft happy enough to have stood the sands.

Description: Viddle is a tall, girl, though she is lean more than muscle bound, yet still boasts more strength than she looks like she could, and sometimes over estimates said strength. She has scars on her arms and hands from broken glass.

Her hair is dark and hangs around her shoulders and face in greased dreadlocks pulled away from her face for work, to keep from catching her hair on fire in the fire from the forges. For formal occasions, she will wash the grease out and let her hair hang in loose waves around her shoulders.
Her eyes are a pretty shade of hazel and are what express her feelings more than her words or actions do.

When working with glass, she wears long sleeves and a long leather vest to keep from burning her skin. To keep sweat from rolling into her eyes she wears a bandana folded over and tied over her forehead to collect the salty nuisance. Smoked glass is used in a pair of goggles to protect her eyes from sparks and the harsh light from the forges.

When not working she tends to still wear long sleeves, but more because she is used to warm tropic weather over the cooler weather of Benden, than because she is ashamed of her scars. She always wears boots, and instead of dresses for formal occasions she would rather wear slacks and a nice tunic.

Personality: Outwardly Viddle is a happy go lucky girl who seems to not let anything faze her, she is quick to come back with a witty comment should someone insult her, or make a joke. She likes to make people smile, and smiles often herself. More often than not Viddle is in a good mood and wants to pass it on, though sometimes her sense of humor gets her funny looks rather than laughs. She is optimistic and tries to see the best in everything. She always keeps her word, even if it means she’ll end up losing out on something herself, or even getting in trouble because she ended up doing something wrong. When it comes to impulses she is fairly well controlled, however she tends to chew or bite on things. Though she enjoys friends and people, she does not force herself on other people, she will say hello and if the other person doesn’t respond positively then she will back off. She is fairly easy going, it takes quite a bit to upset her outwardly.

However inwardly she is a good bit different than the person she portrays herself to be. Viddle stresses about many things and puts a mask on so no one knows how she is really feeling. Her outwardly happy self is how she deals with her fear or rejection, if you are funny people like you. She is tolerant of other peoples view but rarely expresses what she really believes. She does not flaunt her sexuality, though she is a healthy young woman with healthy desires, she never expresses said feelings.

In conversation she likes to talk about anything but herself. She’ll talk about her moms wine, her sisters amazing glass, or even her own Fulgurite discoveries. She has a habit of chewing on things when thinking or distracted, usually her nail or the end of her tools, not always the best idea, mouth is sometimes stained by ink. If she has the space, and is alone she will pace while thinking but because she sees that as a vulnerable action she does not do it around others often if at all.
