Hello everyone! I decided to write down this idea I've had in my head for a really long time. If you know about the Rune Factory universe, then you'll be familiar with this. If not, well it's a fantasy RPG/Farming Sim. It's pretty addicting, actually.... *ahem* well, here you go! Feel free to post your thoughts after each post of the story~! Only way for me to grow as a writer is through criticism, so.... Oh! Almost forgot! If you're interested in seeing your "sona" inside the story, feel free to PM me about it. I'll ask you some stuff and then I'll see where I can place it. Well, here it is~!
* I'll be updating this thing bi-weekly~!
** Another side note: If I use your "sona" in my story, understand that I will alter them (mostly in personality, also in small bits) as I see fit. You have given me the right to use your fursona and I will treat each with due respect. Understand also that any actions (whether said or done) by one character "sona" to another character "sona" DOES NOT (I repeat DOES NOT) reflect either my or the "sona" owner's view on the other "sona" or "sona" owner. These are all done in respect to the personality and view of the character in-story, not by the personality or view of myself and "sona" owner. (Also, I hold each of you in great and utmost respect. Please do not get angry if I make jokes about a character "sona" name, style, or personality, which I WILL do. I mean no offense.) I just want to write this so we can avoid any misconceptions or any hatred arising from this little story towards myself or someone.
*** If you find a part of this too offensive, PM me IMMEDIATELY, telling me what part of the segment you find offensive. I will take the whole segment down and rewrite it. Please also give me suggestions to make the offensive part acceptable to yourself in your PM so I can swiftly implement it and repost the whole segment. Also, if you approach me to change it in this due cause, please be CIVIL about it. If you PM me with any tone of hatred, disgust, or downright malice, I will ignore your PM and your request UNTIL you change the tone of your PM to a more civil one, or until someone else approaches me with it in a civil manner. If I DO ignore your request, you do not have any right to flame me. It is inappropriate and is against our Guild Rules. This is not something we both want so please approach me in a CIVIL manner when you want me to change an offensive part.

Of Land and Moon A Rune Factory inspired story
The Kingdom of Selvia, a kingdom where being and nature coincide. Here, the lands are blessed by the hand of the Harvest Goddess, granting fertile soils and pleasing scenery. The lands have been tranquil for a century, with populaces prospering under the radiance of Helios and Diana. Scattered across the lands are various townships, rising out from the ground to reap the bounty of the land. One of these lands is a quaint, sleepy town of Rylia. Located close to the edge of the kingdom of Selvia, this is where our story takes place.
(At this point, I’d recommend playing this video first before continuing, so you can get a better feel of the story.)
Spring, Week 1, Day 1, 5:56 am End of a Journey
The town of Rylia was still as Helios slowly took over Diana’s vigil in the sky. As the shadows of the night slowly receded to the warmth of daybreak, one shadow seemed defiant as it headed towards the outskirts of the town. As the shadow walked out into the open of the farmland of the town, Helios banished the shadows, revealing what it was. The shadow was actually a being. He was a wolf of the timbers, of blue fur and silver hair. His nose was of the pitch of night, with his muzzle, neck, and belly of the white of clouds. He was clad in a shirt and vest of beige, with shorts of oak brown. He shuffled across the land on his knee-high boots of grey, his eyes of blue gazing in the distance. He had been battling fatigue for a long time now. As he walked towards a small house in the distance, he finally felt his strength failing him. He trudged along, the break of dawn now giving way to the rise of the chariot of the great Helios. As the sun now heralded the new day, the wolf collapsed close to the house. The door of the house on the farmstead opened, and a lass clad in a sleeveless dress, like the clear sky, walked out. She yawned and stretched a bit, her tabby ears twitching as she raised her arms. Her tail twitched behind her, ruffling her light azure skirt. Her pink nose twitched a bit on her face, which was pure white, unlike the white with black tiger stripes of her cheeks and body. As she opened her eyes, red on her left and blue on her right, the girl had noticed the collapsed man. She hurriedly ran towards the person, her odango-bun white hair bobbing along in her haste. (if you can’t visualize this, think Sailor Moon. If you still can’t...I give up) Is he dead? The tabby picked up a stick and started poking at the person. After a few pokes on the nose, she put the stick down. “He’s dead.” The cat closed her eyes and offered a silent prayer. After a short while, she opened her eyes again, and smiling in glee. “Oh well, might as well check the body for anything valu-.” She then heard the person groan. She paused, holding her facial expression. She then spoke up again. “He’s alive!!” Quickly, she started pushing the man. “Hey, long-nose! Are you ok?” The wolf groaned, breathing deep. “Wa-...ter.” “Oh, okay. I’ll go get you it then!” She quickly ran back into her house. When she came back, she was holding a hoe. “I don’t know what you’re going to do with this, but here you go!” She placed it on her back, which made the wolf groan. “W-w-...water.” “Oh! Water! Right!” The cat ran back inside her house. She then walked back with a watering can. “Here you go!” She then started to sprinkle the water on the wolf. The wolf sputtered as he tried to shake the water off, managing to remove the hoe from his back. I am SO dead right now. Goddess, just PLEASE take me now! “Drinking...*cough* water.” “OH! THAT water. Why didn’t you say so in the first place?” The cat ran back, dropping the watering can on the wolf’s tail. When she came back, she had a mug of water with her. The cat then helped the wolf lean back on the water pump, again helping him drink the water up. “Thanks.” The wolf muttered. Were you TRYING to kill me?! “Thanks for…saving me back there.” The cat smiled at him. “You’re welcome~. So, where are you headed, long-nose?” The wolf looked at her, his blue eyes slightly widened. “Umm...what?” “No one lives past that my farm now in this village, so you can’t be local.” “I see....” The wolf looked back at the forest he came from. “Are you a refugee from Lysa? I hear the Lysinians and the Caleirs are still at war.” The cat just shrugged. “But word from the world doesn’t travel much around here though.” The wolf shook his head. “N-no...I don’t think I’m from Lysa....” The cat tilted her head, and body, to the right, counterbalancing with her tail spread out to her left. Her ears were twitching. “Oh? So where are you from then?” “I-.” The wolf looked at the sky and then at the ground. Where am I from? “I...don’t remember.” “Oh…so where are you headed?” The wolf shook his head again. He then looked into her eyes. “I...I don’t remember anything.” “Wow…you must’ve been traveling for so long for you to forget something like that.” The wolf sighed to himself, shaking his head as he moved his left arm to put his hand on his now bent left knee. “I...I guess so.” “So do you remember your name?” The cat this time tilted her body to the left, with her tail to the right. The wolf shook his head. “No, I don’t think I remember.” “Ok then. How about I give you a name?” “Eh? Uh…o-ok. So, miss, what name will you give me?” The cat closed her eyes and squatted in front of him, with a wide chipper smile. “BLUE!” The wolf stared at her, surprised. “Uh…what…what did you say my name is?” “Blue!” The wolf looked at her, dumbstruck. “O-ok. Not being rude now, but...why Blue?” “Because you remind me of blueberries, and blue grass, that’s why!” The wolf, now newly named Blue, sighed. At least she didn’t give me a really weird name. At least there’s some practicality in it.... “I see.” “My name’s Catherine by the way, but you can just call me Kitty, like everyone else~!” “Okay then, Kitty.” Blue closed his eyes and shook his head. “I’m sorry to have bo-.”
Suddenly, Kitty screamed. She was pointing her finger at a monster on the field. Quickly opening his eyes, he looked at Kitty. He then saw what she was pointing at. It was a goblin, holding what looked to be a dagger. The goblin rushed towards them, heading for Kitty. Blue quickly got up and went on front of the cat. “Get back!” The goblin tired to attack them, but the wolf managed to push the goblin back with a tackle. As the goblin got knocked back into the field, Blue heard Kitty speak. “Here Blue! Use this!” Quickly, Blue caught what Kitty threw, and was overcome with disappointment. She had tossed him the hoe. “What the?!” Looking behind him, he saw the goblin readying for another attack. He jumped back as the goblin attack, holding the hoe like a two-handed sword. “A hoe?!” Blue shouted. “Do you have anything better?!” “Here!” Blue turned around to see what she threw. What he saw was even more disappointing. The watering can from earlier landed at his feet. He look at it and then at the goblin. “You don’t happen to happen to have something SHARP?!” “That hoe is sharp, isn’t it?” Blue shook his head as the goblin readied for another attack. Forget it. Quickly, Blue picked up the watering can and whacked it on the head of the goblin. The goblin now was reeling. This had better work! He held the hoe in both of his hands and lunged at the goblin, bringing the sharp edge of it on the goblin’s head. The attack connected, causing the goblin to drop to the ground. Blue then brought the hoe up again and delivered the finishing blow. As his attack hit, the goblin vanished in an orb of light. I...I can’t believe I managed to defeat that, with a hoe! Suddenly, from behind him, he could hear Kitty scream. “WAIT!!” Blue turned around, and saw a being in midair, with a hammer above his head. He had no time to react as the being assaulted Blue. “How dare you steal Kitty’s hoe!” was the last thing Blue heard. The last image he saw was of the being; a white fox with silver hair, clad in a brown vest over a black buttoned shirt and hemp shorts. And then, Blue finally lost his battle.

(Once again, I’d recommend playing this video first before continuing, so you can get a better feel of the story.)
Spring, Week 1, Day 2, 6:00 am The Start of a Journey
Blue slowly opened his eyes. His head was still aching as his vision showed him what looked like a ceiling fan. He stared at it a bit, holding his forehead, and it soon focused in his vision. Damn, my head. Where am I? He blinked a bit and tried to sit down from where he was lying down. As he shifted his body, he pushed off the blanket that was covering his body. As he moved his torso up, he saw the other parts of what seemed to be a room partitioned by drapes. His eyes then spotted the foot of the bed. There, close to his legs, was Kitty. She was seemingly sleeping on a chair, her head on the bed using her folded arms as a head rest. Blue blushed at the sight, pausing in his tracts. So Kitty’s here. Then what happened was not a dream. At that moment, the drapes that were in front of Blue were pulled open, surprising Blue, but what he saw next sent a chill down his spine. He had seen the fox; the last thing he saw before he was knocked unconscious. He was holding a bowl of porridge and looking at Blue with a smile. The fox then spoke up. “Hey, looks like you’re awake.” Oh no! Blue quickly pushed himself back towards the headboard, trying to put distance between him and that fox. The fox looked at him curiously. “Hey, calm down. Don’t be afraid. I’m here to patch you up.” Patch me up?! First you knock me unconscious and then you tell me you want to patch me up?! Goddess, just kill me now! Blue still looked at him, afraid. The fox nodded his head. “You’re still afraid of what I did yesterday, eh? I don’t blame you, but I have to say sorry. Kitty here-.” The fox looked at her, swishing his tail lazily. “-told me about what happened, although I find it hard to believe you actually took out a goblin with a watering can and a hoe of all things.” You and me both Blue became a bit more tense when the fox walked to the side of the bed slowly. The wolf inched himself into the corner behind him as the fox put the bowl of porridge down on the bedside table. “Relax, I was just going to give you that bowl of porridge. I heard from her you’ve been out on the road for a long time, and it seems like you haven’t had a meal in a while.” At that moment, Blue’s stomach growled loudly, the hunger pangs made him lurch as they finally let the master know. He looked at the bowl of porridge and picked it up, sniffing it. The fox looked at Blue, shrugging. “It’s not much; just some porridge with medicinal herbs. I’m a healer; why would I try to poison you?” As Blue decided to take a spoonful and eat it, the fox spoke up again. “I’m not going to gain anything out of it.” Blue paused, spitting out the contents of his mouth into the bowl and putting the bowl back on the bedside table. What the heck?! The fox laughed, shaking his head. “Calm down, mister wolf. I was just kidding!” Hesitantly, Blue picked up the bowl again and continued eating. You have a morbid sense of humor. “It’s a little bitter, but it’s good for the body. I’ll come back later to check up on you again.” As the fox made his way out, Kitty was slowly stirring awake. The fox had just taken a step past her when she woke up, looking around lazily. “Why’s is everyone at my house?” The fox shook his head. “Kitty, we’re not at your house. We’re at the Petal Clinic.” Kitty was wiping the sleep off of her eyes. “Really?” She took a look around. “Oh.” She then saw Blue, smiling. “Good morning Blue! I see Py patched you up good!” Blue turned to Py, looking at him confused.“Py?” “Yes?” “Your name’s...Py?” “Yeah. What about it?” “Py....” Py shrugged. “Well, it’s not like your name’s not funny yourself, oh Mr. Blueberry.” “It’s Blue....” Blue closed his eyes, sighing. “Not Blueberry.” “I named him!” Kitty remarked. “Isn’t it a cute name?” Blue slunk down as Py scratched his head. “Yeah, if he were a pet.... Wait, Kitty. Please do NOT tell me he’s your pet.” “Of course not!” Py sighed as Kitty continued. “I don’t have a collar large enough for his neck.” Both Blue and Py looked at her, dumbfounded. What kind of mess did you get yourself into Blue?
“Okay, so I guess I can send you on your way Blue.” Py stated to Blue. All three of them were seated at the desk facing the entrance to the clinic. The beds were to the left of the desk if one were coming in from the door. Also to the left side of the desk was a seat, where Py was seated. Behind the desk was shelving which had various medications on display. In front of the desk were two chairs, where Blue and Kitty were seated. Kitty was seated closest to Py. To the right of the desk was a flight of stairs, leading to the second floor. “You look like you’ve recovered well; just eat enough and you’d be good for the road.” “I see. Thanks Py.” “It’s no biggie…but are you sure you want to go through here? The roads leading out all pass through paths infested with monsters. No disrespect but you don’t seem like you could last out there.” Both Py and Kitty looked as Blue as he closed his eyes. “I....” He shook his head. “I don’t know anymore. All I know is that I’ve been travelling for so long; neither knowing my name nor where I came from.” Kitty spoke up with a smile. “Well then, why don’t you stay here?” Blue looked at Kitty. “That would be nice, but I don’t really know if I have any good skills for any kind of work.” “Why don’t you try farming?” Both Py and Kitty spoke up at the same time. The two of them looked at each other and shrugged. “What?” Kitty spoke up. “You seemed like you know your stuff when it comes to farming. Why don’t I hire you as a farm hand? You can stay in that empty room I have at home.” Py nodded. “Sounds like a good idea to me. I’ll go and talk to Mayor Glen about it for you.” Blue looked at Kitty. “Thank you, I guess. So, about wages?” Kitty smiled back at him as Py was writing something on paper. “There are none!” Blue looked at her, surprised. “Huh? Did you say…there’s no wages?” “Yeah! All the earnings from shipping out the stuff are yours to keep…with a 10% cut for me.” “I see.” “And then there’s also lodging fees, fees for daily meals, land lease, contract fees, shower fees....” Blue and Py looked at her, wide-eyed. Kitty was still stating more stuff from where she would get stuff out of. “Kitty.” Py spoke up, making Kitty pause. “Since everything’s ok now, can I ask the both of you to please continue your business elsewhere? I still need to prep the clinic for the day.” “Oh, I see.” As Kitty and Blue walked out of the clinic, Py smiled at them. Once they had left, he sighed to himself. Good luck blue. Sounds like you’re REALLY going to need it.
“So....” Blue spoke to Kitty as they got back to the farm. “That’s a lot of fees.” Kitty nodded. “Yeah, if they were real.” Blue tilted his head. “So you were kidding?” Kitty smiled. “Yep! I wasn’t kidding about the cut on earnings though.” “You sure?” “M-hm. It’s nice to cook for two for a change. I tried giving Py some Yellowfin sushi since he likes that sake a lot, but...it seems fish doesn’t agree with him. We found that out the hard way. Never tried cooking for anyone else ever since.” “That’s too bad. I don’t think I’m allergic to fish, so I guess I’m good.” “Yay! Tonight it will be squid!” “Uh, ok.” Blue slowly looked at the field. “I guess I should start-.” His gaze finally got to the field. “...work....” The field was a disappointing sight. It was riddled with rocks, branches, tree stumps, and weeds. So...this is what I have to work with then.... “So...where’s the hoe and watering can again?” Kitty pointed at the water pump with the trough of water. “It’s just over there. I’ll go inside now.” As Kitty walked inside the house, Blue walked towards the water pump. He then spotted the hoe and watering can. “I guess I better start.” He picked them up and closed his eyes. “Ah well.” The wolf walked up to the field. “Hmm, what to do....” He looked at the plant in front of him, a red looking piece of grass, and then plucked it out of the ground. Man, I wonder why these things look weird. He walked around the field, plucking the odd-colored grasses out of the ground. Soon, there was a pile of red, blue, yellow, and orange kind of grass on the field, along with the regular weeds. I wonder what else to do. He looked at the branches, picking them up and placing them on the steadily growing pile. He did the same thing for the rocks. Now with a pile of the stuff there, he then looked at the field again. This is going to be rough. He took hold of the hoe and looked at the untilled land in front of him. Now how am I supposed to do this? Shrugging, Blue brought the hoe above his head, then struck it down in the ground. I guess I should try and “break the ground” or something. Wish there was a user’s manual to this thing. He continued doing what he did. After a while, Kitty walked out of the house. She waved at Blue. “Hey Blue! Looks like you’re doing good!” Doing good? I’m not actually sure of what I’m doing here... Blue continued to work the ground, his brows now getting some sweat. Man, this is tougher than I thought. As Kitty walked towards the field, Py walked towards them, coming from the town. He was clutching a bag of seeds. “Hey Kitty! Hey Blue!” Kitty turned around to face Py, while Blue was still busy at his work. Kitty replied. “Hey Py! What’s up?” He waved at them, smiling as he approached them. “I just came by to check on our little wolf-.” Suddenly, a thrown stump collided with his head. He was knocked off his feet, dazed a bit. “YEOW!” Kitty gasped as she saw the stump. She turned to Blue, to see that Blue was still tilling, with an oddly stump-sized indentation on the land next to him. “Blue!” Blue replied. “I’m not little!” He started to till the soil of the crater that was left behind. Py got up, rubbing his head. “Oww...looks like our old friend-.” Again, a stump met his face, with Py bleeding from the head. He yelped as he fell down. Kitty stared at Blue. “Blue! Stop maiming the healer! Who’s going to heal us if he’s dead?” Blue started tilling yet another stump shaped crater. “Sorry.” Py got up, getting a handkerchief and placing it on his head to stop the bleed. “Thanks Kitty.” Kitty looked at Py with a cold glare. “You had better not have got your blood on my favorite dress.” Py backed away, shaking his head. “N-no ma’am!” Kitty now looked at her with a smile, bending her body forward with her hands behind her back. “Good!” Py shook his head. “Umm, anyways...since Blue’s able to hurl stumps, I guess he’s really fit. That’s good. Might make a good replacement for a Moon Wolf.” Kitty looked at the air. “Hmm, you got a point Py, but I don’t think I can get him to run like the wind with me on his back.” Blue shouted at the both of them. “Hey! I AM NOT A MOUNT!” Py laughed. “I was just kidding Blue!” Kitty looked at Py, surprised. “You were?!” It was now Py and Blue’s turn to look at Kitty, surprised at what she said. She had her eyes closed and smiling cutely. After a few moments, she spoke up, twirling her hair with her right hand. “Then that means I’m kidding too!” Blue shook his head. Why am I not assured by that? Py scratched his head. “Well, anyway...I just dropped by because I just wanted to give a welcoming gift. However, since Blue decided to maim me, I’ll have to charge him for it.” “Hey! It was your fault!” Kitty shook her head. “Can’t be helped, I guess. So, Py? How much does Blue owe?” “Well, accounting for the original price of the seeds, the cost of the herbs I need to apply on myself, and not to mention the porridge I made for him earlier, it would sum up to be-.” Suddenly, from behind him, someone shouted in a high tone. “FREE!!” All three of them looked at the town as a dust cloud came charging from it. “OH NO!” Py was about to jump away, but something lunged out of the dust cloud and landed on Py, making him fall down with another loud yelp. The thing was an aforementioned Silver Wolf, a wolf about Blue’s size. It was panting as the person riding on it smiled. That person was a fox, much like Py. However, she had larger, more triangular ears with a longer muzzle, like a red fox unlike Py who was a snow fox. She was clad in a beige sundress with white shorts and a mantle of pink with accents of purple. Her yellow banged neck-length hair was swaying in the wind; a light contrast to the yellow fur that covers her body. She twitched her black nose as she looked around a bit, her green eyes surveying around. The person spoke up. “Kitty, where’s Py? I don’t see him.” Py shouted from beneath the Silver Wolf. “You’ll see me if you get that slobber factory off of me!” The girl leaned from the Silver Wolf, looking down at Py, making sure her sandals don’t rub on the sides of her mount too much. “Py, what are you doing down there?” “Does the term ‘look before you leap’ ring any bells, Chi?” “Nope?” “Then please...look before you leap!” The fox girl known as Chi shook her head. “I don’t wanna. Fluffy here takes care of all of that for me~.” Blue looked on at what was going on, scratching his head. What the heck is going on? “Uhh, Kitty?” Kitty looked at Blue. “Yes?” “Who is she?” “Oh, that’s Chi. She runs the general store around here.” “Really?” Chi looked at Blue and nodded her head. “Yep! Super Ultra Fabulous Chi is here! I heard that you’re Blue, and you’re working on Kitty’s farm. Since I run the shop here, I also run by here and sell off what you dig up and whatnot~.” Blue pointed to the pile that he had made. “Well, that’s what I have so far.” Chi suddenly laughed. “Uhh, what?” “You have to put all of that in the bin located right next to Kitty’s house. I won’t take anything just lying around Blue~.” Py was trying to get away from Fluffy, with little success. “Chi, get Fluffy off of me! It’s starting to hurt!” “By the way, Py-py, did you give Blue the seeds?” “No!” “Give them Py-py, please?” She smiled with a wide grin. “NO!” Py shouted defiantly. That was when Fluffy went from standing on him to sitting on him, eliciting another yelp from the hapless fox. Blue looked on in awe. Man, I do NOT want to be in Py’s place right now.’ Chi spoke up yet again. “Py, are you going to give it now, or should I have Fluffy lie down?” “Alright! Alright!” Py threw the seeds up towards Kitty, which promptly caught the seeds. Fluffy now got off of Py and ran off to the town, with Chi still on her back. “Super Ultra Fabulous Chi’s job is done~!” Blue stared at her as she moved on past the bridge and into the township. Wait...did she just call herself “Super Ultra Fabulous”? When she was gone, Py got up, groaning. “Oww....” Kitty helped him dust off. “Thanks Kitty.” “It’s nothing, Py.” He held his head, shaking it. “Well, I guess that’s that.... I better get to town and patch myself up. I’ll be seeing you later Blue, but hopefully you won’t be my patient.” Py walked towards town, groaning. Kitty spoke up. “That’s that, I guess.” She tossed Blue the seeds. “There you go. You should place all of that stuff you dug out in the bin and plant those seeds.” Blue nodded to her, looking at the pile. “Yeah.” “However there’s no rush; why don’t you take a nap first before you get to it? Chi’s just going to come here every day at 5 in the afternoon to collect them, and I don’t think it matters what time you plant the seeds; as long as you plant them.” “Yeah, I guess I’ll take your offer.” With that, Blue and Kitty walked into the house they now shared.
