I want to have a steampunk stain glass pattern to paint or assemble for the tabletop and ideas for a slipcover (the less sewing the better since I'm unskilled).

Might I suggest you look into the art deco style of stained glass for your table? I've seen tied into steampunk before in jewelry. You can find stained glass 'paint' at craft stores, and you can probably find a pattern or stencil to use as well.

As for the slipcover...well, I don't rightly know. Keeping the wooden arms exposed would probably be cool, but otherwise I don't have much advice on it. P.^;

Problem is I have too many ideas to pick from...floral, Lovecraftian, steampunk, fae.... I've decided I'm going to see about getting acrylic sheeting and make multiple table tops but I still have to design the patterns.

THERE ARE NO OPTIONS! THERE ARE ONLY THE TABLES OF NYARLATHOTEP!

(I might make a sane comment about the chair, but for some reason I can't see it. Or I might call it the Chair of Cthulhu, and we'd be back where we started.)

I'm already making a coffee tablethulhu I'm getting a old coffee table and using clay to sculpt the legs into tentacles.

Trust me, it's never too early to start socking away for a place all your own. Just learn from my mistakes either move somewhere with excellent public transit or don't let your parents keep the car(s) in their name. The problem when you have a place is figuring out which rooms get what decor. I'm trying to figure out how to decorate the apartment in a way that my SO and our roommate won't have any disagreement to. No matter what they think that orange chair is getting a cover.... I mean eeeeeewww it's 70's orange aged to a leathery dark tangerine.
