Prom.

...

Prom was still haunting her. Holly hadn’t seen him since then. She also wasn’t sure what to feel about it after these few conversations she had with other ghouls. Twice she had talked with others about what had happened. Both Tset and Nat had interesting thoughts on it. Neither ghouls got to hear the entire story, she wasn’t going to spill all the sides of it either. What was there even to tell? Where did it even come from anyway? Even after those talk it still all bugged her. Bugged her wasn’t even the right thought.

She had gotten back to her room earlier after one of those talks. Munching on a skinnamon roll she stared up at the ceiling as she thought things over. When did whatever this was even start? What was this? Why was it even bothering? All she wanted to do was focus on school and get out of this Jacking place. This school was already bothersome, why did boils have to be added into this mix?

Obviously whatever happened started before Prom, right? Well he did ask her to the darn dance even though he said they were going to make fun of people. He didn’t have to ask like how he did though, it was odd. Heck, they didn’t actually make fun of anyone from what she could remember. He had more fun poked at him when she discovered the ‘you have wings and know Levi’ part. The rest of the night they rarely danced and only together that one time. That hadn’t been as bad as the other dance when she thought about it. That time was more of being forced to and that dress, ugh. It was the end of the night that she was worried about. Why did he have to do that and then run off? From the sound of the other ghouls she’d spoken with, he may have liked her. Did she even like him? Did he really like her? He ran off, to her that didn’t seem good. Had he actually meant to do it or was it all a mistake. Either way the embarrassment was understandable. Another thing that didn’t make sense was that he hadn’t spoken to her after the dance. How long has it even been since that day? To be fair, Holly hadn’t gone out of way to look for him either. What was the reason behind that for her, she wasn’t sure much in that herself either.

The ghoul sighed. For her, she didn’t want to see him until she knew how she felt about all of this. Again she tried to figure when all of this annoying awkwardness started. All of the time for her they seemed like friends but a few times there were ... awkwardness that had been.

Besides the adventure, their first meeting had been uneventful. The island was a story in itself. Well they had been around others the entire time nor had she even been around all the time. Heck she was ‘dead’ at one point but what happened after all of that? Did something happen then perhaps, she’d never know unless he told and she doubted that would ever happen.

But then again, that time her pin was stolen by her pet, that had been weird. It hadn’t been good since she’d been wearing normal clothing. Well it wasn’t like the dresses but it was still all just weird for some reason. She’d been fine in all of that around other ghouls but was it just because he was a boil that was a friend? Was there any school that was just for ghouls that didn’t come with all of this, that would be awesome.

That day he had asked her had just been weird in itself. He’d been happy about something, that was kind of scary to see a demon of rage and anger happy about something. She’d been slightly afraid of that in itself. Perhaps he’d asked her to the dance out of that happiness in itself but that wouldn’t explain the dance unless that odd happiness stayed around that entire time.

This was just annoying. Holly took another bit of the roll and sat up. Although there were just some strange feelings, things going on and what not, she just wasn’t going to forget it but she just wanted to put it off to the side. He was a friend, couldn’t it just stay that way? She could just concentrate on school and worry about it later and still get to bug him? Determined, that was her own answer. The next time she saw him, she hoped she could explain the fact of being good friends and not letting this bother her right now. He was a good friend, she didn’t want to lose that at all. There was no way it could just go away and be forgotten but maybe he’d agree to just leave it alone for now. Yeah, that was it. Later she’d have to find him ... later, for now she had skinnamon rolls to eat.
