Yareha was yawning again. It was dawn, or just past, and he was tired from a late hunt. They'd been out during the grey time when it was light enough to see, but before the actual sun was up. Add to that physical exhaustion the mental tiredness of the white lion trying to figure out which of his fellow hunters might be worth approaching on the subject of Aysu. Finally he settled on Gidja. The orange lion seemed nice enough for someone born into the high class. And Yareha was pretty sure the other had no kids - he'd have heard about it. "So," he said, falling in next to the other lion, "seeing any pretty lionesses at the moment?" Light conversation, if full of fail. Yareha wasn't particularly skilled at getting information out of people without their knowing it. Not that he cared to try being more subtle. Blunt was just fine with him.

He enjoyed the hunt though really getting his paws dirty was a bit below him, he treated it more as a game than a way to actually feed the pride and today had been no different. Except today he was being approached. The tangerine orange male raised a curious brow at the pale male.
Gidja had been told by his mother of her past life, how, in the pride she had come from females were in charge and males were inferior, not that she thought that way, and Gidja, well he was a lord and as such he was above any sort of grovling. His grandfather apparently was a very good male, which apparently in the pride she ahd come from meant that he bowed to every whim of any female, which quite frankly, sounded awful to him and made his skin crawl..
Back to this particular moment he looked down his nose slightly, he was a superior being after all blessed by the moon itself. Clearing his throat he finally gets around to answering. "No, no lady has caught my eye yet. Why do you ask? Seems a little forward of you." His ears twitch a little, he had heard of males who liked other males, well he wasn't one of those "If you're propositioning me I am not interested, I like females not males." He snorts trotting on ahead slightly, hoping that his statement would end this suddenly uncomfortable situation.

Yareha had to laugh aloud at that. Gidja thought he was...!? It was hilarious! The white male was familiar with the fact that certain lions preferred their own gender, but it had never occurred to him to apply such a label to himself. Perhaps it was a reasonable reaction, given the question he'd asked, but it was still utterly preposterous.
"No, no, that's not it at all!" he replied once he'd gotten his breath back. "You see," and here Yareha took a step closer to the other Hunter, "I know a girl. And she's single - quite quite single." He thought about asking "are you interested?" but decided against pushing the other lion too hard. Gidja was technically a Lord and Yareha didn't want to offend him. At least, not too much.

Well, that was a relief, he really didn't know how he would feel about being hit on by a guy. The thought made his skin crawl a bit. "Oh really?" He raises a brow, a girl eh?
'I'v never really thought about it, is she pretty?" Well he had thought about it, but only in passing, there were many beautiful girls and a lot of them were single, he wondered which one of them he meant, the question soon became, would she be an ugly one of this male didn't want her? This conversation was going down hill.
"Is she too ugly or foolish to find a male for herself? Is that why you ask these questions of me?" He chuckles, "I'm really not interested in an ugly female, it would lower my status in the community."

The white lion had to stop and think about that one. Was Aysu pretty? He'd never cared about the answer, so he'd never tried to figure it out. She was his sister after all, what did it matter to him if she was pretty? While he was considering that question, Gidja kept talking. Yareha was hard pressed to keep his disdain for the other's attitude from showing and wondered if he should lie and not introduce the other Hunter to his sister at all.
Then again...it might be worth it just to let Aysu bring him down a few pegs herself. Yareha's sister was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Besides, the orange lion might have some redeeming qualities.
"Attractive enough, I suppose. I'm not the best judge, but I doubt she'd count as 'ugly,' he replied neutrally. "I think she just hasn't cared enough to find a mate yet - too distracted with other people's love lives," Yareha added with an exasperated snort.
Not all high class lions were this shallow...right? He'd hate to think that the King and Queen were like Gidja.

Gidja looked deeply thoughtful. He wondered why this male was asking him all these questions still. "Attractive enough?" He raises a brow, "And you don't want her because..." He stops and eyes the white male, his mint coloured eyes curious, why didn't this male want the 'fairly attractive' lioness, maybe he really was one of those lions who only liked males.
Shaking his head he moves on his tail flickering around his ancles. "What is her name?" He asks, maybe he knew the lioness and had simply over looked her. He knew most of the high class females, his eye liked to watch them but he had not as yet been convinced in to settling down. He was young, but clearly this conversation was going some where.
If this male didn't want this female perhaps there was something wrong with her, he concluded, but he could meet her any way, if this guy was not interested in females that would certainly explain his lack of interest in an attractive femme. It never even crossed his mind that it was his sister, why, after all, would you go searching for a mate for a sibling?

Yareha grinned crookedly. "I don't want her because there is something very wrong about wanting your own sister," he answered the almost unspoken question. Maybe he'd consider Aysu if they weren't related...but no, she'd drive him crazy within a night. Not that he'd tell Gidja that.
"Her name is Aysu," the white lion continued, trying to gauge the other lion's interest. He supposed he should assume this shallow orange male would be chiefly interested in remaining in the high class, and so only be looking for mates among the lionesses born there. But...Gidja had a rank other than Lord. So he should be accustomed to some sort of work, right?
He'd just keep telling himself that if Gidja met the right lioness, he'd be content with whatever lot he had in life. If he didn't, Yareha might just be tempted to scratch that smug look off of the other lion's face.

The orange male took a breath and looked deeply thoughtful. No, he didn't know the lioness personally. It did seem very odd to him that the pale male would be looking for a mate for his sister but he supposed stranger things had happened.
"I might be interested." He paused for a moment letting his brow furrow. He knew the pale male beside him was of a lower rank than himself and though Gidja liked his lot in life he had been born to a slave. He wasn't afraid of work and he had seen his mother work hard in her rank.
"You know, I will meet her if you think she would be fitting for me." He raises a brow. "Is her rank the same as yours? You know despite what you may think I am not a rank orientated lion. I just wouldn't want an ugly female on my paw." He chuckles and lets a little smirk raise his maw. "My mother was a slave and though I would not wish to lower in to such a rank as that I am not afraid of hard work, hence this hunt." He rolls his eyes "Have to do something to keep myself fit and healthy."

Yeeeeeeeeah...the more they talked, the more full of himself Gidja sounded. But, in for a seed, in for a tree, right? Besides, he had a feeling that Aysu might just end up ripping this shallow and self-centered male a new one. It was all Yareha could do to keep the tension and anger out of his voice and posture.
"Yes, we're from the same litter," he responded almost absent-mindedly, trying to figure out how to best set up this blind date. He wasn't sure how best to do it. Finally he settled on the simplest one possible.
"She's usually by the waterhole in the evenings," he said at last. "Mostly black, with yellow toes and ears, a blue stripe down her spine and blue hair." He didn't want the other lion talking to the wrong girl, after all, and the waterhole got very crowded sometimes.

They would be about the same age then it seemed, perhaps she was older, it didn't really matter it sounded like an interesting concept speaking to a female who was being set up. He wondered briefly if Aysu knew her brother was setting her up on a date? He doubted it and the idea of surprising her with a smile and a wink amused him.
Gidja nodded. "I'll look for her." He smiles, he liked the sound of the female. Liking the sound of and actually liking he knew were totally different things, but perhaps she would be more intelligent than the match maker brother?
Letting out a sigh Gidja trots onwards to the hunt considering what exactly he would say to his blind date. Or if he would say anything at all, she might not be his type. Time would tell.
