The sun was high in the sky in the sandy dunes know as the firekin lands. Denahi could be found sprawled out on the hot sand, not having had much sleep the night before. The charcoal slave had spent the night out with Rehani, and had only left a few hours ago just to return to his new 'homelands', so he would not arise any suspiscion from Nuri or Chomo.
Yawning, a ruffled roar let out, quiet and curt as the muscles in his jaw were exercised. He wondered if anyone else was like him, and I don't mean slavewise. After all, the former prince did not think of him being a slave persay considering he had come on his own will. He thought others would be like him, just trying to piquet their curiousity about the one known as Finar-si.

After watching her friend being taken away by Teleka, Kirjava felt her heart shatter into a million pieces at their fates. How were things so cruel here? Slave...the word meant that she was not free, as she had found out from her friend. She had always been free. Always. Crimson eyes were downcast as she wandered through the sand.
She should have turned back, she should have been taught not to trust strangers, but she had thrown caution to the wind and believed that lion. Just as she was caught in the middle of her thinking, the female blinked at the noise. There was another about. Guarding herself as she was alert, the sound came from the side. As she slowly turned her head, crimson eyes landed on a lion in the distance. A dark lion who looked strangely familiar.

His eyes opened slightly, not enjoying the feeling of sand being blown into his eyes. Who could leave in such a place? I mean, there were no trees anywhere! Just cliffs and dunes. All boring land features if you could ask Denahi.
Almost about to fall back to sleep, the charcoal male caught a scent in the air. It was faintly distiguishable, but not quite. Like...he had met this one before but way long ago. Stretching his achy limbs, he stood on all four paws, casting sight on the red female just a distant away. Familiar indeed.

Cautiously, Kirjava walked slowly in the lion's direction while she racked her mind for a name. None came to her. Ah well, it'd come to her...eventually. Sighing softly, she stopped some distance away from the lion and gave him a greeting. "Hello." It wasn't that often she got to converse with another.

Somehow Denahi had to believe this was not a member of the Firekin pride. Even though her pelt shone with almost the exact red color, her attitude was way different. She seemed sort of quiet, to calm about things; unlike the other members, who could be considered 'thirsters for blood.'
"...Tell me, why is your scent so familiar?" he questioned, a slight growl emitting from his thoat. Not that he was angry or anything, this is Denahi, and Denahi is moody at time..? Okay, so forget the greetings and small introductions. "And tell me, are you a trueblood to these lands?" She probably couldn't answer the first question, but the second one was easy.

Crimson eyes watched the other with a slightly curiosity, for he had no red, but those eyes. She vaguely remembers another with eyes of blue other than Aleu. At the male's attitude, Kirjava just flicked her tail while thinking about the first question. After a moment, she replied, "I think we met a long time ago, because you seem familiar to me. If it helps any, I'm Kirjava." To the second, she shook her head with a look that said it all. "No."

Denahi sat, glancing in Kirjava's direction, but not looking directly at her. Instead, those sky blue orbs traveled right past her, glancing at the cliffs in the distance. He wondered if that Finar-si person resided there? HE WOULD FIND OUT! At the mention of her name, his eyes focused back on her, tilting her head. "Kir...java? Can't say it rings a bell," Well, if my memory serves right, he had last seen her at night, and when he was a cub.
"Denahi," He told her. A name was given so she wouldn't have to call him by some weird greeting ike HEY YOU! or YO DARK MALE! Highly annoying nicknames.
"Then why do you reside in these lands? Are you trying to find out information as well?" This former prince was truely a stubborn idiot. He needed to get it through his thick head that he would never recieve the information he wanted, and would be stuck doing the bidding of others.

Denahi...Dehani...Kirjava blinked at the name as it sounded close to her friend's, Rehani's name. She let a small smile play across her feature, "Oh, I think the last time I saw you was when Rehani and I played as cubs. It's been a while then, Denahi."
At his question, crimson eyes held curiosity again. Information? She shook her head, "I can't say I am. I was traveling through the desert when a lion found me. He lied to me and took me in as a slave." As she watched Denahi before lying down as sleep was starting to take over.

Great way to remember faces I guess if their names sounded exactly alike? Just give or take switch a few letters around and voila? He nodded, remembering the expierence vaguely, but not quite.
"So, one of those red lions abducted you," He shook his head, making a small clicking noise. "Never trust what others say to you. It always turns out to be deceiving." Too bad Denahi had learned that the hard way. So, another was a slave as well? He smirked lightly. No way anyone was calling him a slave around here, uh-uh, no way no how.
