Welcome to the Marauders Map. This section is to
help with those questions that may be asked about role-playing.
What is Role-play?
Role-playing is having a conversation with other members through a Harry
Potter character. Its almost like writing a book. You can control you're
character and make them do anything. E.g. Make them Crucio the teacher.
(May get you house-point deductions, but you get the idea)
Where do I fill in my form about my character?
Here. Please stick to this character throughout your
roleplays. If for whatever reason, you would like to change
some details, PM Pandamoneyelephant00 or Eleventh_Letter.
There isn't a topic for this room, what do I do?
Post in the Role play places suggestion forum. Located here
Rules when Role-playing.
1) Students cannot enter any staff office unless a message
has been sent to you to do so.
2) Students cannot create a role play topic that is located on Hogwarts
Grounds. However, you can start a group role play that's set
at a different time- Ie. The Marauders Era
3) Duelling can happen anywhere but violence of any other sort will
conclude with a warning and/or house point deductions.
4) Points can be given by staff through Role-play and when points are
deducted, that is just for Role play purposes, no points will be deducted.
5) When speaking to other members that isn't about the role-
play do it in PM.
6) BE LITERATE! Full stops, speech marks. It doesn't hurt and
its easier to understand. "Lets eat Grandma" or "Lets eat,
Grandma" IT SAVES LIVES! You may get a warning for not role playing with in these standards.
7) You do not have to post in your House Colour, but it will make it easier
for other role-players. You may, of course, use the House banner.
8 ) If you role play saying you're in the Common Room, but you
actually are in the Great Hall post, it will be deleted. Move to
that topic if your character moves.
9) You must write at least 4 sentences when you post in the
role play. This is because people are becoming slack and
posting just simple conversation. The idea of Role play is to
describe what the character is feeling. Anybody who doesn't
write at least 4 sentences will be given a warning.
10) Role-playing is now turning into 3rd Person only! No more, "I
walked down the street and lifted my wand." Again, warnings
will be given to people who post in 1st or 2nd.
Remember: When Duelling, you must play to the spell that has happened. Do not do this:
RP1: 'Expelliarmus'
RP2: Missed him slightly 'Levicorpus'
RP1: Missed again 'Avada Kedavra'
RP2: Missed.
That's boring! Play along. If the match is going in your favour, take the win.
If not, accept you've lost but make it as interesting as possible.
