Pink flesh darted along deep violet. That same rough tongue raking at his fur to properly clean it. It WAS that time of day after all. Mosi remained under the shade of a tree, comfortably on his side as he went to work licking at his lavish fur. In some respects the male prided himself on the striking color and plushness of his coat. The almost glossy sheen of a well groomed and posh male.
Both ears folded back as Mosi smiled contently to himself. Lifting a paw to clean at the underside. Absently the male's tail length flickered along the ground, the tip patted around without purpose. Though the act did function as a great way to swat at the low hanging flies. It was another hot day. It did Mosi some good to relax in the shade of a tree. Finding himself along again. Such rare treats he cherished.

Hasnaa didn't care about her looks as much as some. She was dusty, her belly and legs caked in mud from her recent hunt. Fresh blood spattered her muzzle and chest from how messy she ate. She didn't care, she had been starving before she found that injured waterbuck. It was really good, too.
Right now she was looking for a place to sit and clean herself. Or a watering hole. Stretching out, the female found a very sunny spot near a small watering hole and a tree that a purple leopard was cleaning himself against. Growling when she spotted the male, Hasnaa's fur bristled, but the fact she was so filthy was making her increasingly aggravated. The mud on her stomach was matting from the heat.
Ignore him. That's all she had to do. The leopardess tried to ignore the grooming male and sank into the small watering hole. The mud went soft and washed away with every step she took. Carefully, she laid down on the rocky bottom and scooted her tummy along it, scrubbing the mud out of the deeper parts of her fur. Next was her face. Dipping it in the water, she brought her paws to her muzzle to scrub as well. All the while her blue eyes were focused on that male.
"Stupid males..."

The crunch of pebbles shifting under the padding female's heavy frame, the leopard lifted his head to get a look at just who was headed his way. Silently he sat and stared. Golden eyes blankly fixed on the rogue female. His face contorting to his default snotty and mildly disgusted expression. Something he was taught to make, despite the fact he might have not truthfully felt that way. But surprisingly the brightly colored female neither hailed for him or burst into a bunch of pleasantries. She utterly ignored him, as if he wasn't there. That was new.
Mosi bowed his head to again lick at his fur, though it would be a lie if he didn't admit he was shocked the female didn't notice him ONE BIT.He was so used to the overly friendly types. But this female wasn't shy... he could tell that much. If there was one thing he hated, were spineless and shy females. No, he knew this one CHOSE not to talk to him. And not out of fright. His eyes remained on his form, hearing the splashes of the bathing leopardess. That got his attention. Enough to get him to stand, even!
Mosi's tail swatted around behind him, wide eyes pointed in the stranger's direction. She wasn't supposed to be doing that! It was the middle of a drought and only the lions were allowed to drink from the main lake. The colonies had to drink from the sparse shriveled lakes dotting the area. And Mosi... didn't know what to say. 'No do that!' He contemplated, but knew it would sound wrong. 'Last of our water!' Biting his lower lip, the male furrowed his eyebrows. Unsure how to speak with her and not sounding like a total idiot. The longer he hesitated, the more she dirtied their water with her bath.

She knew nothing of their water reservations. She knew there was a drought, yes, but she didn't know anything of the sort. Hasnaa's head snapped up as the purple leopard rose and it caused her to as well, eyes narrowing as a warning growl came from her throat. Getting out of the water, she shook herself off and stayed where she was, still dripping onto the dry ground.
"Go back to your bath, male. There's nothing for you here." Hasnaa's blue eyes focused on his golden ones as she looked him over. Sure, he was pretty, but he was a male. Males gave her headaches, they gave her the heeby jeebies and she just wanted each of them to be under her paw to squash like bugs. Her voice was low and husky, not really matching up to her petite, thin frame.

Mosi wasn't used to such hostility. From males or females. And promptly checked over both of his shoulders in confusion. What was she staring at with such intensity? Never realizing she was the object in question.
Nothing ever looks good when completely wet. Fur thins and mats, so when Hasnaa lifted from the water she looked to have 'shrink' in size. His lips flattened, gulping when she warned him. Not out of fright, but because he wasn't sure how to respond. Mosi turned and began to walk back, or at least looked like he would... but it turned out he was only pacing. Turning back around to face Hasnaa with his worried expression. "...yes, is." He said quietly. Self conscious because he was certain that didn't come out right.
He wasn't sure what to do. Try to scare her off? She was distinctly smaller than himself. It could have worked... if he didn't have a moral code. Mosi mimicked the female's tone, to see if it would work against her. "Go." He said with the same intensity. The female hadn't frightened him, because while the leopard was chivalrous it didn't mean he was spineless.
