ponygirl74 kai_inuzuka i can help u with ur ferrothorn I would appreciate the help thanks. biggrin I feel quite inclined to say the best thing you could do with a Ferrothorn is breed it with a Gen 4 Torterra. I normally don't like to give out my own personal movesets/ev spreads for the Pokemon I use, but this might give you a bit of an idea of the potential it can have.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers Trait: Iron Barbs EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spe) ~ Stealth Rock [Egg move: Gen 4 Torterra] ~ Leech Seed [Egg move: Gen 4 Torterra] ~ Power Whip [Lvl 40] ~ Gyro Ball [Lvl 21]

Stealth Rock is your typical entry hazard setup, hurts Fire-types which are bad news for Ferrothorn and for ruining sashes. Leech Seed is really the only logical recovery option for Ferrothorn, which is never a bad idea to have for walls, especially since you'll want to move slower than everything to get the most potential out of STAB'd Gyro Ball.. which means you will be taking hits and frankly for a Pokemon who doesn't do so much damage any other way, survivability is key. Trust me, this setup has been play-tested and works.

kai_inuzuka hmmmm i never really thought about that its pretty smart but i still like the combo of iron barbs rocky helmet toxic and rest Using the move Rest is a terrible idea without a Chesto or Lum Berry in the item slot, the Hydration ability in the Rain or accompanied by the move Sleep Talk. Frankly, it leaves you exposed to setups or free counter switch-ins from your opponent, and since the Sleep status usually last at minimum 2-3 rounds, perhaps even both of those things can happen if your just that unlucky to get stuck in one of those 5 round sleep-a-thons that seem to spring up every now and then.

kai_inuzuka rest lets u live as long as possible It's still a gamble not worth taking since Resting and not waking can be the reason for your doom. In which case, you were honestly better off just using Explosion at that point. Just saying.
