Victoria stood in the open no more then a few feet away from her herd lands. It had been a very long time since she had ventured even this short distance away. The feelings that began to flood her were that of fear and excitement. Fear because it had been so long since she had been off the herd lands her great grandfather had created. She also was afraid something might go wrong on the herd lands if she was away for to long, but she was also afraid of how the world might have changed while she was away. Her excitement however, was almost palpable. Victoria wondered what creatures could be lurking within the dark depths of the forest before her and the ways in which she could meet them.
Since she was a queen most believed her to be incapable of not only adventure or emotion but also to be anything more then that; a queen. Victoria could still remember herself as a foal and how she would run around the lands far away from Kawani where she was born. Frolicking with the different types of creatures of that most here had forgotten about. Sometimes she found herself wishing she had never come to the Kawani lands, but majority of the time she couldn't believe how happy she was here. Everyday was an adventure because everything turned into something new and exciting. Victoria smiled lightly to herself as she began to walk deeper into the forest. Surely everyone would be able to handle themselves back at the herd for just a little while. This queen needed time to be more then that.

Ithili was glad to be out and about today. His sister came and in her fear of Kalona, she stamped on one of his baskets of exotic fruits. It took him a long time to have those collected and it would take even longer to try and get them now. He wasn't sure where to get a few of them as they were gifts. The task of collecting could wait, the lightly colored stallion wanted to just have fun this evening. He made a point to have fun, to participate in some games, or watch some games. Find things that were beautiful. Maybe even take part in a wonderful light shower in a waterfalls mist. The rainbows that reflect on the water always made his day. With that thought in mind, Ithili galloped off in no certain direction looking for a light in his day. It wasn't long till he found himself a smaller waterfall. It was larger enough to have enough mist that reflected the tiny rainbows, but not so large that it was monstrous. It stood just a hand shorter than himself. With a lust for life, Ithili raced towards the water, happy with the feeling of it on his hooves and the mist on his coat. The fields around him were covered in hills, rocky crags, and wild grass and flowers. It was a beautiful area and this seemed to be one of the larger sources of water in the area. Creatures were coming up quietly and drinking from the small rivulet of water. There were enough for him to know that it was a popular place. Ithili grinned and blocked the view of the rainbows from the other creatures of the area. He wanted to enjoy this himself.

"I wonder how long it has been..." Victoria said to herself quietly. It had been a long time since she had been able to take a walk this long and her muscles were making sure to let her know that they didn't really care for it. But she paid no mind to them, today was her day to escape and have some fun. After some time of walking she could finally hear a small waterfall not to far off. Now would be a good time to get some water, who knew when her next drink might be on this little adventure? Victoria turned her body towards the direction of where the sound was coming from.
As she reached the other side of the brush and tree's Victoria noticed a large variety of creatures gathered around the waterfall, taking their fill of the delcious looking water. She notied the pale blue body of a kelpi stallion standing underneath the waterfall and unintentionally wondered if he called his place his home. Deciding to get a better look at him and find out if she was tresspassing, she stepped closer to him. As she approached she noticed his body had random speckles of a purplish pink on his hooves, tail and muzzle. His fins were more purple and his hair was the color of seafoam. All of his colors blended perfectly together but in a interesting kind of way. "Hello." Victoria said simply to the stallion as she appoached the side of him. That was when she noticed something, he seemed to be sheilding the rainbows that were created by the water. How pecuiliar. "Why are you hiding the beauty of the rainbows?" Victoria asked quitely with a smile. What if it was the tale of the dragon and his gold? Oh how exciting today was beginning to look!

Ithili grumbled at the voice. Someone was there to ruin his time. That or they would want to take his rainbows. They could have them when he was done. It sounded selfish but he really wanted to just enjoy them himself. Others sometimes would come and dance in the water, making the rainbows go away. Some blocked the light and it would do the same thing. It was rude but people were rude as well. He turned around to tell the intruder just that when he spotted her. Golden eyes blinked in surprise. The female was far more beautiful than the rainbows. It looked as if the pale pinky purple of the rainbow painted her. The mark on her back was striking, like the water that splashed at his hooves. Ithili quickly composed himself and smiled. His eyes turning to the gradient of the females hair, looking at the beautiful pearls that were intertwined in it. He hadn't meant to look for another treasure, but was ever so happy to have found one. She even wore treasures of her own. he wondered where she had found the feathers for her hair and the beautiful necklace that she wore. He would love to wear his treasures on himself at some point in time.
"I was hiding the rainbows as they are a treasure and many have come to ruin them whether from blocking the light that helps create the magic or from splashing into the water which holds the rainbows." He wasn't sure how they were made or why they were there, but so far he had deduced that the water held the rainbows and that the light made it so that they could exist in this place. There were ones in the sky as well but those were the stronger ones made with the magic of the land. These were just baby rainbows, not strong enough to make it to the sky. "If you promise not to ruin them, you are welcome to see them. I'm Ithili by the way."

Victoria wasn't to surprised when the male had turned around to face her and began looking her over. From her knowledge it was common for new meetings to begin with a look over of the other creature. However, she was a bit surprised by his smile, not quite sure as to what it was meant for. "Hello Ithili." She replied with a kind smile and a gentle voice. As he spoke she began to understand why he was blocking the rainbow from others and why he was looking at them in the first place. "I see." Victoria responded. "I promise I won't ruin them. Or I will try not to." Victoria said with a small blush, trying to make it clear she wouldn't intentionally make them go away.
Taking the chance she stepped closer, trying her best not to make the rainbow go away or lest anger the stallion she just met. "I have a treasure much like this back at my herd lands." She said with a smile as she looked at the rainbow. "Except mine is this beautiful garden of flowers, some which do not usually grow in this area. But I suppose that isn't as interesting." Victoria said, scrunching up her nose a bit. She turned to look at Ithili once more. "Do you come here often and look at the rainbows made by the water?" Victoria asked, not sure how rainbows came to be either.

Ithili backed up slowly so that the female could see the rainbows to. He made sure that he wouldn't block the sun or ruin the rainbows himself. it was a trusting move but Ithili couldn't see this other female destroying anything beautiful. "Thank you for being careful. They should be shared." It was then that the stallion realized he didn't know the females name or where she was from. "If you don't mind, what's your name? I'm sure it's a name that sparkles much like the pearls in your hair." It sounded like he was flirting, but in actuality it was just admiration for the mare's mane. He wanted to be polite and not ignore the female, though he could go back to watching the rainbows for hours. His gaze moved back to the rainbows. Happy to watch them fall with the water. It really was a wondrous sight.
A beautiful garden with millions of colors like little gems came to his mind. Plants and flowers from all over cascading a peaceful field, untouched by others. It was a carefree sight. He would love to see it sometime. "It is interesting, don't doubt the intrigue of a beautiful garden. I can picture the gradients of colors filling a graceful meadow. It's very beautiful." He turned to look at the mare. "I love the wonders of life. I do come here often, just looking to see the spectacular. Do you come here often?"

"They are rather beautiful. I can understand why you would protect them so furiously." Victoria responded. Quickly she returned her gaze to Ithili. "I'm sorry! My name is Victoria." She beamed. Not sure if she would scare him off or not Victoria decided to share the secret about her that most here would probably not know. "I am the queen of the neighboring herd." She responded, lifting a hoof and pointing to the east. Her face got a bit warmer due to her fear of scaring him off or maybe reading him wrong. Meaning, he wasn't someone she could trust with this information. Last thing she would ever want was a herd member to get hurt because she wanted to make a new friend. "But it's no big deal." She said with shrug, trying to pass it off as nothing.
"Actually, this is my first time here." Victoria said a bit to eagerly. Taking a moment to calm herself she looked to her left at a tree. Finally when she felt composed she returned her gaze to the rainbow. "It is rather beautiful. There are thousands of flowers all throughout the herd lands, but the most beautiful is my garden. It's a ring of flowers that sets up against this tree line." She said wistfully. "In the early morning you can see the sun rising and at night you can see it setting." Victoria said with a grin.

Ithili blinked at her comment. There were others he encountered that enjoyed the treasures he had, but none said they understood his connection with them. It wasn't something that was exactly said but he appreciated that she said she understood why he protected them. He would protect the majority of his treasures to the best of his ability. "Thank you. I tend to not wish for beautiful things to be tarnished. The world has many treasure and they all should be protected as such." The pale stallion stopped before his words became a tirade. He wasn't prone to them, but there were things he felt passionate about that he could talk for hours on. "A very nice name. I'm Ithili." He stood tall and proud, his tail swishing in the water. "A queen of her own herd. You must be thrilled. I bet you are a compassionate leader." And he left it at that. Queen or not she was another soq and should be treated with the same regard as others, though he did fancy treating her better. Victoria was nicer than many of the others. She was a treasure all on her own.
"That sounds beautiful. I would love to see them sometime. I can only imagine the colors and how they change at night and the brilliant blooms. It must be magical to live among flowers like that." He could imagine all the colors of the rainbows blooming in little rosettes all along the ground. They spread so thickly that the grass beneath wouldn't be seen. To just see it would be great. Ithili smiled at his new found friend. Well he hoped she would be his friend. He would find out.

Victoria nodded lightly as the stallion spoke about the world having many beautiful treasures. Although, she could see a beautiful treasure within him that needed to be protected as well. She wondered for a moment if he was that there could be such things in others, and not just the rainbows or for example, her garden. That would be a question she would have to ask sometime, but for now she was happy with the conversation they were having. "It's a pleasure to meet you Ithili." She said with a warm smile. Ithili huh... She thought to herself quietly, mulling over his name. "Well, I try to be as compassionate as I can. Although, I would be lying if I said that sometimes being a queen was very lonely." Victoria replied with a sheepish grin.
Seeing the opportunity to possibly make a friend and still be true to herself, she decided to try her luck with getting Ithili to follow her. "Would you like to come with me to see them?" She asked with a excited smile. It wasn't often she had the chance to meet someone that enjoyed her garden as much as she did. Taking notice of his 'normal' demeanor towards her she took the opportunity to get to know him better and actually be herself. "How did you discover this place and the rainbows?" Victoria asked curiously, trying to work her way towards learning more about him.

There was a sparkle in Ithili's eye when she saw the sheepish look on Victoria. This mare was a sight to see. He wondered if she knew about the treasure that she was. A diamond amongst coal. A rarity. One that he would love to get to know and protect himself. Though he realized that would be a bit awkward to say right off the bad. Instead he stood tall and happily moved around so that Victoria could get an even better view of the rainbows and the other beautiful things around them. "It's a pleasure to meet you too, Victoria." It was a fun name to say. It rolled around his mind for a moment.
Shock broke him from his thoughts. Victoria had invited him to see her flowers. He would have to see if she would like some of his treasures or at least look at them with him. Ithili nodded happily, the curl's of his mane flowing all around him. "Yes I would love to see them. If you don't mind that is." Ithili thought back to his first time in this area, it was just after chasing his sister through the trees. Illarion was trying to be the protector and Ithili was the bad guy. It was all a game, but it was fun. "My siblings and I used to play a game where my sister was a lost member of the herd and a hunter, usually me, was after her. My brother, Illarion would be the knight to save her and bring her back to the herd. It was all in good fun and one day I ran the wrong way and ended up finding this place. Granted I crashed into the waterfall then, but it still was beautiful and I stayed here for the rest of the day."

She smiled as she listened to how Ithili discovered this place, nodding when it was appropriate to do so. "How come you were never the knight?" She asked curiously, hoping to gain some insight into his character. "Do you not like to be the knight in shining armor or do you prefer being the 'bad guy'?" Victoria continued to ask. For a moment she wondered just how well this male would do in her herd. Then she mentally shook herself. He did not need to join her herd, nor should she expect him to do so. But she did secretly hope he would one day join her as he was very good company.
"It's this way." Victoria said walking a few feet away from him back towards where she had come from. "I promise you will not be disappointed by the flowers." She said with a firm tone. She waited for him to catch up with her before she continued walking once more. "Tell me more about your family." She said with a somewhat questioning voice. Making sure that he knew he had the option not to tell her, but still implying she desperately wanted to know more about him and his life.

Ithili thought on that. Why wasn't he the knight ever? He did really want to be the knight at times. His brother though always had to be the knight. The stallion guessed it must have just been a personality thing for Illarion. It would have been different if Ithili was the knight though. He wouldn't have saved his sister to save her but to stop the bad guy. It seemed like that was a big thing to him now and something that he never thought of in the past. "Well I have thought about being the knight, but my brother....well he's not exactly the nicest of guys when it comes to his chivalry. Illarion can be very very over protective. some days I believe he doesn't agree with how I live my life." It was an odd idea. But a good one. More time would have to be devoted to that thought but he easn't in the mood at the time.
Ithili followed Victoria looking around at the trees, the creek fading in the background, and the animals that seemed to be heading off for the day. His mind wandered about how the flowers looked, what kinds there were, were they as beautiful as this mare. A treasure's treasure. Her kind voice kept his heart light and his steps quick. "I don't doubt that." His family? What was it that she wanted to know about them? He would have to find out? Ithili also wanted to know about Victoria and her family and her herd. Maybe an exchange of information. "Well I have two direct siblings, a brother and a sister. My parents are close by and both have children outside of their pairing. My two siblings and I mostly have stayed in this area, though we travel a lot! So what about you? What is your family like?"

Victoria tilted her head slightly at his response. "How exactly is that?" She asked, curious to know how exactly he lived his life. He seemed like a well mannered stallion, something that couldn't be said for most their age. "Sometimes, being deemed a knight doesn't really make you one. You're heart is what makes you one." Victoria said in hopes of making him feel a bit better.
"I see." She said as she came to a halt before a large overgrown patch of bushes with a small path right in side of it. The only entrance. "Just on the other side of the brush is where the flowers grow. A barricade of beauty." Victoria added, a bit of excitement lacing her words.
Turning her gaze now to Ithili she flicked her tail a bit. "I see. Well, my family is a bit unconventional." A light hearted giggle escaped her muzzle. "I adopted a basket earlier this year and raised the filly that popped from it as if she was my own. Now she has a mate and two children of her own." A smile once more crept over her features. Her eyes shifted to his, wondering if the fact that she had a child bothered him. Shaking her head for a moment she gently nudged him with her nose to enter into the brush to see the flowers. "It's quite lovely."Amira Keller Sorry it took so long for a tag! T__T Muse died and then I forgot that I hadn't tagged.
