It was a part of the forest Eva never saw till now. New exciting grounds to be discovered and explored. Still none of the forests she saw till now could measure to her old home. Yes she mourned her old forest, her beloved home, all those centuries old trees she loved to speak with and all those that never got a chance to outlive her. They knew the history of her kind from before she was even born. All that was gone now, turned to ashes by great fire. Now that she thinks about it she hasn't spoken to any trees since than. Although some of the trees she had seen in new forests were as old as the ones in her old home, they were also strangers to her and she felt like she had nothing to say to them.

Slowly her wondering brought her to edge os the swamp. It looked so dark and gloomy to her she had to stop. This part of the land standing before her gave impression it doesn't forgive mistakes, an eternal struggle of life trying to trick death for just one more day. So she stood there looking to the distance not really thinking about anything special leaving her mind to go blank, as if that would make this obstacle go away.

Ah, but the swamp was alive this morning! Crickets and frogs singing their chorus in the ever twilight world he now resided in. Really, it was much the same as the world he'd wandered before now, but never once had he had the pleasure of calling a place his home. This murky, dank kingdom was his now. Well, not his, by the logic of the brothers this place belonged to them, and Blanc was in no hurry to dissuade their delightful little fantasy world. Then again, who was he to say they couldn't simply claim the swamp as their own if none had been there to stake claim before them. It was a curious sort of situation.

The voices were whispering and the voodoo painted stallion regarded them with a doubtful sort of scowl as he made his leisurely way through the ankle deep pools that edged dim wood of the swamp. "You said this all before, why now should I pay you any mind?" False promise, false leads. They'd driven him out on a hunt for a forest nymph before and that had been a bust. He was still bitter of the lose of her.

The c**k of an ear was the only evidence of a response from the shadowed whispers only he ever seemed able to hear. A pact with the dark ones for power, that was his explanation. Delusional boy. "If yer lyin' again.." He warned, growling under his breath before movement made him quiet. Something was there, a pale little filly with tiny flock of winged beauties fluttering around her. "Alright, I'm listenin'." He kept his voice quiet as he crept ever closer to the mare. The solid blackness of his eyes trained on that dainty little figure. She was a lovely thing, lovely as the last little doll the shadows had placed before him. It made up for their previous errors. Oh yes it did.

He was slow to creep out from the shadows, and at first only the white of his face hovered in the gloom of the cypress falls about ten yards from her. An inviting, but all too pleasant smile on his lisp. "My~, what've we here now?"

Eva caught movement in the swamp with a corner of her eye. She turned her eyes in it's direction only to see bodiless head moving closer. Still she felt nothing. No fear, no excitement, no special interest in it. Like it was hallucination that would pass. Only thing that got any reaction from her were stallions black eyes. Those two deep black pits mesmerized her. The longer she looked into them the deeper they seemed and she felt as if she was falling to their bottom.

She didn't speak, she didn't respond in any way save turning those sunny eyes in his direction. It had the darker stallion tilting his head, that eerie grin twitching ever larger. "Cat got yer tongue, lovely?" His own joke had him chuckling as he emerged from the shadow to approach her. Blinking dark eyes at the unfamiliar brightness before looking back down at the dainty fawn before him. She really was a lovely thing in washed out greys and rose pinks. Draped in flowers and threads, glittering beads hanging half hazardously.

"What's a'matter there, lovely, have ya gone stiff on me?" He moved to pass her, broad shoulder bumping against her petite frame in a bid to break her out of whatever spell had her rooted in place. The voices were restless, urging him onwards. Whispering advice in his ever attentive ears.

Stallions actions brought Eva back from her daydream. This one was live and kicking. Blinking few times as if that would help her see better she turned her ears towards the stallion. All of a sudden bodiless head just got it's body.

'' Cat... stiff... huh... I'm sorry what did you say? ''

As she took a better look of the stallion she understood why he looked to her as some apparition. His dark body blended perfectly with swamp pallet of colors.

The dark pits of his eyes stared down at the mare as she blinked 'awake', stuttering before asking him to repeat himself. Goodness, the poor thing had been frozen in a stupor, now that was an ego stroke if ever there was one. That the very sight of him had struck her speechless and immobile.

"I said, don't be goin' all stiff on me now, little darlin'." His accent was thick and heavy like warm honey, and that roguish smile never left eerie features.

Mammoth hooves clopped at the packed earth around her as he strode around her. Shoulder and hip bumping and brushing against her small frame with every other set. It was a complete invasion of personal space, but silly little things like that didn't much apply here. She was his, the voices said so. "I knew you'd be here," he offered after a moment. He'd been told, and even if he hadn't quite believed it at first his friends on the other side had indeed been right.

Stallion is quite bigger than Eva which made him bit intimidating. And his actions didn't help either. She had no idea why he had to walk so close around her but she didn't like it.

And who was he calling little darling?! He didn't seem too much older than her or maybe his looks were deceiving her? Did that painting on his face help hide away years of his life that passed by.

'' Little darling? ''

Or maybe he was one of those that ate members of his own species. She heard there were those kind of soquili in these lands. And he sure left an impression of checking out his snack. The same thought made Eva a bit nervous. It was foolish of her to separate herself from her fellow cerynei when they came here. After all every foal knows that there is safety in numbers.

That can't bee! That is so wrong! She wasn't ready to die yet, let alone become someone's food. Her chest felt like it was tightening around her heart. She had to know!

'' Tell me... are you going to eat me?! ''

Her questioning comment upon the pet name had the draft pausing in circling pace as a wide grin cracked along painted features. "Yes, Ma'am, something wrong with a sweet little compliment like that?" It didn't much matter to the male if she minded the endearment at this point, she was his after all. He could call her as he liked.

Verde brows shot up as she asked if he was planning on eating her, and he couldn't help but laugh. Bending closer so he could bump her nose with his much larger one.

"You're not on the menu," he paused to consider that statement, then grinned. "Least not for eating." Red meat wasn't really suited to his palette anyways. She was safe enough, relatively. The voices snickered in his ears, it made his smile widen.

Eva found stallions acting very strange and bit creepy. Or was this how everyone living in this barren place acted. Maybe this was something completely normal for him. What ever it was swamp was not appealing to her. So she started looking for a way she could take and leave this place. But how to do that and not offend the stallion.

'' Are that kind of compliments something normal here? ''

Learning she is not to be eaten eased her mind a bit but she didn't know what to think about statement that followed he menu one. What was this stallions plan.
