In the latest string of work he'd taken on, Pollux was making a nice steady profit. The small youma infestations were getting him business regularly. Rats the size of house cats. Well, starseed stealing youma, able to chew up just about anything and damn annoying as ********. So long as you lacked magic that is. Armed with his fists, boots, and magic Pollux was able to go in, attract the little bastards and once drawn out, freeze them in place while he proceeded to kill them. Tonight had been a particular run down restaurant.
Family owned. The son had no inclination to running it and rather ran with a more dangerous crowd. His dad was going nuts trying to take care of the monsters, and the son's efforts were futile in the ways he'd tried out of what little love he felt. When one had bitten his mother the boy had snapped however. He'd come seeking more..magical assistance. Pollux had been more than fine to help out, and the boy had the cash. That was all that mattered to the senshi of frost.
Leaning on the wall of the back ally, Pollux watched the kid count the cash. "Two Hundred dollars for one monster." The pile of dust was still on the ground by the trash can used to crush it's head. Cash handed to Pollux, he smirked. "Pleasure doing business." The boy's fist curled and Pollux raised a brow. "Please, would you have preferred to let it return and do worse then a simple bite?" The boy hissed back. "You have your cash now leave." Pollux nodded. "They tend to roam, if you see others, don't hesitate to call." The gang banger just went into the building, leaving Pollux with his cash smirking at a good day's work.
For him at least.

Foramen had been leaping rooftops in what counted as a rather lazy patrol (ie. Foramen was bored and looking for trouble), when he'd spotted a senshi and a civilian down in one of the back alleys. He'd slowed, and although the spike of adrenaline faded once he'd realised the senshi wasn't making a save, Foramen's curiosity did peak in return. What other business would a senshi have with a civilian...? The possibilities only grew worse as money exchanged hands.
By now, Foramen was crouched on the edge of the roof, peering down at the exchange taking place below. Drugs? Hookers? Adrenaline junkies? Foramen was almost impressed - despite his growing horror - that someone had worked out a way to make money off this.
Eventually, enough conversation was made that Foramen was clued in that this was a youma extermination payoff being made. His breath escaped in a huff.
"That's a relief," he said as the civilian left. Jumping down, Foramen landed gracefully in the alley, several feet away from the pale blue senshi. "For a moment there, I thought I was gonna end up accidental voyeur to a senshi prostitution ring."

The cash in hand Pollux's s**t faced grin was almost comical. Almost. If not for the fact he had just gotten quite a pretty penny for what appeared to have been an easy youma to kill. The sound of a voice behind him immediately sent the senshi of frost on edge, turning around on his heel. His posture quickly loosened from battle ready as the tiara gave the other senshi away. Stepping to the side, his gaze ran along the super, mouth shifting at the starlight material. It was far to flashy for his taste. Then again, so were half the senshi he encountered. And they didn't really get a choice. Such was life. Such was the way of the senshi uniform.
The note of the idea of a senshi prostitute did earn a chuckle. "No, for one those girls are in the red light district. And two, I would serve a much higher clientele. And a much less..." He made a face of discomfort. "Masculine sort. I would prefer my company to be of the female variety." Pollux had a chill run up his spine at the thought though. It would only be a matter of time before some idiot would ask for a real senshi 'companion' through his work. That was one job he'd never give or approve of.
Hand held out he nodded. "Anyway, Pollux, frost. Hope my taking a bit of pay for this sort of thing isn't against some unsaid rule or something because I rather like getting paid for you know." A shrug. "Risking my life and all that."

"Foramen, Rifts," came the easy response. The pigtailed redhead drew closer. This Pollus guy seemed very easy-going. It was relaxing to be around, much preferable to the many uptight senshi Foramen had met - who no doubt would be taking offense to the senshi-duties-for-money scheme.
He have an easy wave of his hand. "If there's a rule like that, I haven't heard about it. I mean, I know some chicks who wouldn't like it, but me?"
Foramen smirked.
"I'm just mad I didn't think of it first."
To be fair, it wasn't like Foramen needed the money. But a monthly allowance doled out by his grandfather wasn't the same as cash on hand whenever he liked. Not to mention, Pollux was exactly right - Foramen was risking his own a** out here as a senshi and what kind of thanks did he get? Media branding him a terrorist, the Negaverse breaking limbs, and all kinds of physical damage. Some form of compensation would have been damn nice. And who would turn down some extra spending money, seriously?
"So how does your gig work?" Foramen asked, curious.

Pollux's smirk was getting to become more and more common as he'd started taking on work as a senshi. His day job was boring, at the very least, these jobs, were never the same. The other senshi also wasn't reacting badly and seemed like he wanted a piece of the action. A piece Pollux would be more than happy to provide. No shame in wanting to be paid for what they did.
"Women tend to be fickle, part of why I don't attach myself." A flicker of emotion as he recalled to someone who had reached part of him, who had made him care. He couldn't care, he'd forced her away and out. Adamant that she was better without him, and he, with out her. "I don't have a need for that sort of thing. It just distracts you." Motioning the senshi of rifts to follow him, Pollux jumped up to a low balcony before another jump took him to the roof. "It's pretty simple. I have some stuff that I can show you at my-" Well, just what exactly did he call his base of operations. "My office." There, it sounded mature, and lacked that sexual overtone his brother would have turned it into.
Then again, he was a guy offering to escort another guy into his office late at night for work of questionable moral values. Sexual overtones were pretty hard to ignore when he really thought about it.

Foramen grinned as the other senshi offered to show him more. He hadn't been sure if Pollux was open to the idea of others following in his footsteps, or if he was going to be one of those people that fiercely guarded 'their' idea. In a place as big as Destiny City, Foramen figured there would be more than enough paid work for just one senshi. Maybe Pollux had the same idea.
Besides, Foramen has some prety unique skills - among senshi, at least, stupid teleporting Nega Captains and Generals didn't count. Those bastards.
The talk of relationships only earned a dismissive shrug from Foramen, but he followed Pollux up to the rooftops quickly enough. "Sure, I'm up for it if you are."
Any sexual overtones to the offer or his reply went right over Foramen's head. He wasn't one to pay much attention to that sort of thing. Besides, money was money and business was business - Foramen's focus was on the potential money, and what he could do with it.

A light huff of approval could be heard as Pollux inclined his head to the next building. "That's honestly good to hear. Some jobs are rather in need of those outside of my skill level. There is only so much damage I can do with frost and fists." Like jobs that asked for him to kill particularly large youma. Ones that lived in warehouses and ate whole carts of produce.
Youma were quite odd.
Still Pollux knew his limitations. And with more work coming in everyday, he just couldn't handle them all. "But anyway, the basic jist is this." His feet carries him to the next roof, and he kept moving while talking. "Clients go through a contact line. I don't do direct until I can establish it's not some trap. After that, make contact, start the job, finish, and get paid. The hard part is contact, most clients are just as leery of me as I am of them." A hand waved to the place they just departed. "And often they pay well. If not cash, you can earn a few good favors. I've already got one promise of an emergency cover up if I get caught needing a hideout in the red light district." A sly grin. "Not to mention made a few lady friends. Hookers or not, it is nice to be fawned over."

Pollux was the second senshi to mention getting help from the red light district. It earned a raised eyebrow from Foramen. "I suppose our money is as good as anyone else's. But wouldn't the promise of more money have them selling us out in a heartbeat?"
They went for all people, Foramen supposed, not just hookers. He supposed that kind of neighbourhood was a good place to disappear - so many ordinary people did just that, after all. But a senshi still stood out more than a teenage runaway. Maybe the Negaverse just wasn't aware of the hideouts they were missing - or was simply too broke, or stingy, to pay out for information. Foramen snickered at the thought.
The actual plan Pollux outlined was, well, rather genius. Foramen was sorry he hadn't thought of it himself. "Can you trust your client line?" he asked. It was good not to be making direct contact, but someone was still aware of Pollux and how to reach him. It could be dangerous, for that contact and for the senshi.
Still, Foramen was curious. "What sort of things do they ask you to do?"

Pollux smirked, feeling pretty damn clever. After all he thought he had a nice system set up. Get a job, get some cash; and all while helping the senshi cause. It was a brilliant plan....right? "They could sell us out but that's the thing, they won't. Not unless they want to find themselves dead." Nifty little thing about the underbelly of society. It was home to a wonder array of characters, and not all of them conformed to the law.
Just their personal ethics. "Most of them have seen first hand the victims of youma. Of negaverse agents. They're easy prey since no one looks out for them. My brother oddly enough paved the way for me ages ago. He got their trust with saving them from attacks. While they run the risk of being targeted, so long as I keep an eye out for them, they're happy to pass messages for me. Plus, they tend to be pretty vigilant on their own of those who might land them in hot water. " It was brushed off in a way, Pollux considered his line secure. "Plus, I do my own homework. As for what they ask me to do?"
Another shrug. "Random stuff. Kill a youma that's been prowling. Watch over an area for a while. Play bodyguard to some thug. Do a magic trick or two. It's all very well..varied. Last guy you saw had a youma problem. Those are the most common." A thought, and a consideration. Foremen looked the type.
He figured he could ask. "Why do you want to know so much anyway? Looking for a job yourself?"

It was reassuring to hear that the people Pollux was trusting already hated the Negaverse. Harder for the Negas to try and get them to sell out - if the Negaverse even knew or cared.
"Huh, so loyalty already in the bag," Foramen considered. He nodded, pigtails bobbing. "Pretty handy guy, your brother. Who's he?"
Senshi magic was a handy little thing - family resemblance was just as impossible to pick out as a distinctive hairstyle that you might have sat behind in classes for several years in school. And if there were rumours about, well, Foramen was too insulated to have heard them.
Foramen grinned, a bright slash of white in the evening gloom that rivaled one of his tearing Rifts. "Can't say I'm not interested, now that I've heard it," he said. "Not that I wanna step on any toes, either. You looking to increase your workforce?"
Normally he might have branched out on his own. But Pollux had contacts, the trust and loyalty of some handy people (even if they were hookers, any form of first aid that didn't come with a lot of questions and possible calls to the cops was nothing to be sniffed at), and a growing reputation already. It made more sense to join up than to try and compete. And besides, Pollux could take care of all the trivial stuff, Foramen could just do the job and get some extra cash.

Pollux visibly winced when the question about his brother rose. "Castor." His voice was full of sarcasm and it was clear there was little love for his sibling. And much of it stemmed from the antics of the past. Plus his brother's general idiocy in Pollux's eyes. "he's not handy, just a nuisance. In any case-" He was letting himself become distracted. His rant about Castor could be for another night.
"And to be honest, the more senshi the better. work comes in at random and some needs a bit more muscle then just a one man show. Plus, it helps to have backup." An idle shrug. "Not that we always need it, but it's nice." He tugged out his senshi phone. "I can get you the contact info and how to filter through by tomorrow morning. How's that sound?"
