It wasn't unusual for the young redhead to fall asleep in odd places after a night of partying, she would often drink to the point she couldn't remember anything from the night prior. Recently she had been slowing down a bit, she found herself sober more often, at least compared to last year. The memories- what few there were- haunted her dreams, reminded her just why she drank so much. She had done alot of stupid things, the intensity of it that time around sprouting from when she lost her son, and she found herself drowning in emotions she didn't even know she had. Many emotions had been locked away for her own safety when she was little, but that day they had all burst out, and she didn't know how to handle it, so she turned to the wonderful numbing effects of alcohol to calm herself. It was all that helped..

Dark brown eyes slowly opened as the sun's rays glew before their owner, beckoning her to awaken and bring herself back into the world, to get up off the ground. The hung-over teen tilted her head a bit to look at the lush, green grass she must have collapsed in last night, slowly dragging a hand through the growing blades, out further from her body so she could grip the ground and try to lift herself up. She was weak, and her head was spinning, but it wasn't unusual. The girl's frayed, pale red skirt fell delicately back into place, hanging low and inappropriately on her. She tended to dress this way, obviously wanting to attract a male's attention. Her shirt was a much more rich red, the sleeves a bit too long for her, covering her scarred arms and hands. She abused herself just as much as others had, as if the pain somehow helped her. It just would bring her back around when she started to fade off into her own little world, remind her this was her life, she couldn't make it better by hiding away. Couldn't make it better.. yes, she settled with the abusive and degrading things people said about her, and did to her. She was alive, and things had once been so much worse. Still, there would be moments she wanted nothing more than to die, but in the end, something always stopped her. Maybe something was trying to tell her not to give up yet.. hm, who knows.

She could hear the school bells ring not too far down the road she had fallen asleep by, it made her head throb. What was that, the lunch bell? How should she know. Akani hardly ever went to school, she was in high school after all, and that was a whole new type of hell she had no desire to be anywhere near. She had gone for a total of three days before she decided it wasn't worth it. She had been teaching herself things for her entire life, she didn't need someone else telling her what to do and how to solve problems. And health class? Ha! What a joke! She already was a mom, indirectly of course now because she didn't care for him, but she was sure nothing that class had to offer would help her anymore. Sometimes she would sneak into the school at lunch and grab what the cafeteria had to offer, but she never went in any further. She only needed the food. She was only half of a vampire, to keep herself satisfied she had to eat human food now and then as well. Her father wouldn't feed her, he didn't even let her in the house anymore, so it was the best chance she had to feed herself until her friends were around to buy her something at night. Some days she would lose her appetite and not eat at all, and other days she would be too drunk and sick to be able to stomach food. She was going downhill, obviously.

As the girl finally forced herself to her feet she stumbled a bit, putting a hand to her throbbing head. Another hangover.. how wonderful, she thought sarcastically. But she hadn't expected any different. You couldn't drink as much as she did and not get a terrible hangover, and if someone could they would have to have an amazing tolerance to alcohol. Pale pink stockings covered up her legs to her thighs, the only bit of clothing that covered her otherwise bare feet. Akani hardly ever wore shoes, the blisters on her feet hardly did a thing to stop her anyway. She was a strong person, she delt with pain very well. Taking a careful step forward the young girl stumbled through the grass by the road, hoping to get to the school and snag something to eat. She needed something in her stomach, she had gone without for quite a few days. It may have looked odd, to see such a beautiful girl looking so pathetic, stumbling across the ground toward the school. Usually people avoided her, but she kind of hoped someone would see her today and have the courage to approach. Maybe she could convince them to carry her, she thought with a bit of a twisted grin, her pain evident.
