 Crritk...criiiithk...crithckcrithhk...critck...
Dry grasses flattened beneath the male's wide paws, the crunch resounding with each of his even steps. Burgundy optics nestled behind half lidded eyes panned over the landscape, searching for the source of the smell... The tantalizing scent of fresh blood heavy in the air.
Absently Cetshwayo opened his maw a fraction, the pink of his tongue flicking out to sweep along the opening. It wasn't far now, the stains in the golden sea of grasses. A sloppy battle. It took much wasted energy and effort to bring the beast down. Following the tracks and flattened trail all the way up to the fallen zebra, Cetshwayo carefully took one last sweeping gaze around before slipping closer to the corpse. The belly exposed to the open air, fully gutted. Though most other limbs of the beast were still untouched.

 Kipekee had been wondering around aimlessly for miles. Her sides were sore with hunger she had not been able to catch a decent meal in days and it was starting to take toll. Even if she found a decent meal she was too weak to even take it down. She sighed and continued to walk tiredly about the rogue lands; at this point only the thought of food would help her now. The more she walked the closer she got to an appetizing smell, blood. Her mouth began to water, she was so hungry. As she approached she saw another. The male lion looked much bigger than her; but then again he probably was. Kipekee was very small for her age; most would mistake her for a much younger lioness. She cautiously made her way toward the carcass and the lion hovering over it. Would he be willing to share…? If not Kipekee would leave, she was nowhere strong enough to take him. “Can…Can I have some?” She asked her voice merely above a whisper.

The foot falls of the approaching female alerted Cetshwayo of oncoming companying. But of what...? They weren't heavy but in fact light, and graceful. Cetshwayo's guard lowered. It must have been a cub... or maybe a lioness. His thoughts were confirmed when he got a whiff of her scent the closer she drew. Narrowing his eyes a fraction, the rouge loomed closer over the kill with each step Kipekee made towards him.
This female wasn't a threat to him, so he wasn't about to waste his energy chasing her off. He intended to make it clear that this carcass was his until he filled his stomach. And voiced what was about to transpire, "You can have whatever I don't eat." The gruff male stated simply, "Wait your turn, female." Cetshwayo was being gracious, by his standards. And without so much as batting his eye, the lion went ahead and began tearing the flesh of the downed zebra. All Kipekee had to do was wait. Cetshwayo may have not been chivalrous, but he wasn't greedy. There was no way he was going to eat more than a quarter of meat splayed before him.

Kipekee lowered her ears, she didnt mean to offend the male. "I..I'm sorry, your right..." She simply just walked away taking refuge a few feet away, she did not want to make the male feel uncomfortable. She always felt so weak and useless.The smalle lioness watched the male tear apart the dead animal. She wondered if it wasnt nice to ask if she could have some, she should have waited untill he left.
Kipekee rested her paws on her head, she hoped that he wasnt the kind to want to always start a fight. She was never in the condition to fight she was small and fragile; she would always run from a fight. It was probably because she was always scared, ever since she was a cub. She could remember the ways her adoptive dad abused her and no matter where she went now she always felt like he was around watching. She still felt like the little cub.

The female backed off submissively. Thats all the lion wanted, was her submission. Once she scuttled off to wait her turn, Cetshwayo's hardened expression softened. He went right into the meal before him, ignoring the female for the short while he scarfed up the chucks of meat he tore from bone. His head bobbed which caused strands of hair from his mane to drift over his eyes, forming a curtain of golden locks to shield his gleaming red optics.
Red eyes lifted upwards to watch the meek female as he chewed with a closed mouth, a piece of meat. It had been awhile since he came across one that acted how he deemed women to act, modest and gentle tempered. This was a treat.
Once he was plenty full, Cetshwayo stepped away to give the female space to eat. The male didn't attempt to clean off the blood that messily caked his maw and cheeks. "You have a name, female?" His distinctly male voice held a gravel as he spoke.

Kipekee watched the yellow male tear into the flesh, the smell of the blood made her mouth water. But she had to wait she didn't want to upset or anger the male. The more she saw him eat the more saddened she worried she wouldn't get food.
Just as she was about to leave she heard the male call out to her. She slowly moved closer to the male making sure to not get very close as to upset the male."My name is Kipekee...sir" She kept her head low to show she didnt want any trouble.
Her stomach grumbled with hunger... she didn't want to leave she couldn't catch her own pray, even though she was an adult she was weak and small. She looked slowly into the males red eyes; she wasn't sure weather the were captivating or if the had a dark purpose.
