Seriously. This kid was so not hufflepuffy I could barely stand it. Why did he get sorted into our house?

There are some rumors that Zacharias Smith is related to Hepzibah Smith, who is a descendant of Helga Hufflepuff. Therefore, Zacharias is a descendant of Hufflepuff as well. Maybe that's how he got into Hufflepuff, despite his personality. The Sorting Hat sometimes takes family into account.

Yeah, a disgrace to the blood of Hufflepuff.

You know what I just noticed. There's been mentions of heirs from Hufflepuff and Slytherin, but never a mention of heirs from Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. Then again, Helena Ravenclaw probably never had a child before she was killed.

That's true. But it's not unthinkable that Gryffindor's line would have ended in the last 1000 years.

That is true. I guess it is surprising that Hufflepuff and Slytherin made it through. But, with the information given, it looks like both Hufflepuff and Slytherin lines have ended. Voldemort died without a child and there is no mention of what happened to Zacharias after the war, should he be a descendant of Hufflepuff.

We know he got out though.
So that's kind of nice, that Hufflepuff's blood line survived the longest.

Indeed!

You know, I've read some interesting fanfics to try and make Zacahrias less of a d**k. Read a good Blaise/Zacharias fic once.
